Lin Yan arrived at Sun Villa in the night and immediately saw Li Lingyun sleeping on the couch. Why did he wait up for her? She had already sent him a message that she was at Lin An and might come back late. She walked towards him and knelt on the floor, seeing him right there put a sense of ease in her heart, a feeling that he would always be here but she wondered how he will react if she were to tell him that not only does she have a father but also that man was a murderer, a Mafia leader who deals with guns and drugs. If it was before, she would have been glad, that such powerful man was her father but now, she is the wife of Li Lingyun, she is related to the president of this country and as a result of that she can’t afford to tie herself with a drug dealer. And that is why she must find a way to end that man delusion of being close to her.

"Aah!" Lin Yan screamed softly when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her belly.

Li Lingyun immediately opened his eyes and saw Lin Yan kneeling on the floor with a hand on her belly. He got up from the couch and said with worry in his voice "What’s wrong? Does your belly hurt? Should we go to the hospital?"

Lin Yan shook her head and as she took in a deep breath "I’m fine, it was just a brief pain, nothing serious."

Li Lingyun frowned at her words and asked "Nothing serious? You were feeling pain a moment ago and why are you kneeling on the floor?"

Lin Yan pouted her lips and got up from the floor with Li Lingyun help. "I was just watching you sleep, I didn’t want to disturb you."

After making her sit on the couch, he said "Stay here, I will get you a glass of water."

Lin Yan watched as Li Lingyun went to the kitchen and placed her hand on her belly, she wondered if the reason for the pain was because she was overthinking. Just then Li Lingyun came back to the living room with a glass of water and said "Have this."

She collected the water and drank everything before returning the glass to him and said "I’m fine now."

"I’ve sent the doctor a message, he has arranged an appointment for us tomorrow morning." Li Lingyun said as he placed the glass on the center table.

Lin Yan looked at Li Lingyun stern face and said "You sound angry."

"Angry? No, Lin Yan, I’m not angry. Infact I don’t think I have the right to be angry with you."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I told you not to see Zhou Xi but you went there, why?"

"I didn’t have a choice. Shen Mua came to me with tears in her eyes and she kept begging me, I had to say yes and it was a quick visit. I spent most of time with Lin An."

"Then why didn’t you tell me or have we gone back to keeping things from each other."

"What?" Lin Yan asked with a frown.

"I know you know who did it?"

She knew what he was talking about but nevertheless, Lin Yan feigned innocence and said "Who did what?"

"Who really killed Su Yin?"

Lin Yan moved her eyes from Li Lingyun piercing gaze and stood up from the couch as she said "I’m not feeling that well, I need to go lie down."

"Was it Lin An?" Li Lingyun asked as Lin Yan was about to climb the stairs.

Lin Yan turned back to look at Li Lingyun and said "Of course not."

"Then who did it? Apart from your precious Lin An, I don’t think I know who else you might be protecting."

"It was Zhou Xi. The police has all the whole proof that Zhou Xi was the one who killed Su Yin, why complicate things by thinking otherwise?"

"But we both know that it wasn’t Zhou Xi."

Lin Yan scoffed and said "It’s only you who think that and I wonder why? Could it be that you still have...."

"Don’t. Don’t complete that statement Lin Yan, don’t say something you will regret. Go to bed, we will go to the hospital tomorrow." Li Lingyun said and grab his car keys that were on the table.

Lin Yan saw that he was about to go out and asked "Where are you going?"

"To get some fresh air, I will back soon." Li Lingyun said and left.

Lin Yan just watched as he left, she felt the urge to go after him and apologize but instead she climbed upstairs and went to their room.

Lin Yan opened her eyes and saw no one besides her, she checked the time and saw that it was 3:30am. Have Li Lingyun not come back since then? She collected her phone that was beside her and planned to call Gu Wei but suddenly stopped, there was no way Li Lingyun would still be outside by this time, maybe he was in his study’s.

With that thought in mind, Lin Yan got up from the bed and went towards the study room, she thought of first knocking but decided against it and opened the door.

Li Lingyun who was sitting on the couch with his eyes closed suddenly opened his eyes and saw Lin Yan standing at the door looking at him. He looked at his watched and saw the time before saying "Why aren’t you asleep? Are you feeling uncomfortable?"

Without replying, Lin Yan walked towards Li Lingyun and stood in front of him, she took in a deep breath and finally said "I’m sorry. I’m sorry for what I said, sorry for going to see Zhou Xi without telling you, sorry for making you worried, sorry for always keeping things from you and it’s not because I don’t trust you, it’s just that, even though we love each other and even though we are about to have a child, I still get scared, very scared that one day it will all be over, that I might disappear one day and you will forget me."

Lin Yan sniffed as more tears left her eyes as she said "I love you Li Lingyun"

Li Lingyun chuckled softly and kissed her briefly before saying "I love you too."

Lin Yan smiled and said "You were right, I do know who killed Su Yin."

Li Lingyun separated himself from her but still held her hand as he asked "Who was it?"

"It was my dad, biological dad. His name is Liu Gao."

Li Lingyun frowned as he asked "Liu Gao? That name sounds familiar."

Lin Yan looked at Li Lingyun in surprised as she asked "Do you know him?"
