Chapter 40: Chapter 40: Knowledge of the realms
"Kid, do you really know where we’re going?" the soldier following behind Kael asked with a frown. He had been following Kael for a while now, and at times, they reached a dead end, forcing Kael to turn back and apologize, claiming he had memory loss and couldn’t remember the way home.
Once or twice would be understandable, but after dozens of wrong turns, suspicion began creeping in. However, the soldier didn’t rush to any conclusions. He knew exactly what a Death Soldier was—a being of terrifying strength and resilience. Unlike assassins, who were still human and could retreat if a mission failed, Death Soldiers did not. They fought until they either completed their task or perished trying. Their strength commanded respect, and their will remained unbroken.
The soldier knew that once Kael entered the Death Soldier program, there was no turning back. A slight feeling of pity flickered within him—after all, Kael was just a child. Or so he thought.
Kael, on the other hand, had already assessed the soldier’s strength—it was nothing more than the high Awakener Realm. It seemed no one could sense his true power, and everyone assumed he was just a normal kid. One of the reasons he kept wandering around was to determine if anyone or anything was watching them. So far, he hadn’t sensed anything.
Of course, that didn’t mean no one was watching. It could simply be a being far stronger than him. But he had to take the gamble that he wasn’t under surveillance.
Another reason for his delay was to study the city itself. The place was massive, and the average strength of its inhabitants was at the Awakener Realm. He had also noticed beings with strange tattoos covering their bodies—devout followers of a particular god. Their numbers were considerable, something worth keeping in mind.
And thirdly, Kael was waiting for his control over Elisa to be fully established. Now, at last, it was.
"Sorry, I think I’m lost," Kael chuckled nervously as he led the soldier into a dark, empty alley.
"I think you’re just an orphan, kid. I tried to help, but becoming a Death Soldier is your destiny," the soldier said, stepping forward to knock Kael unconscious.
"Your destiny is to be a slave," Kael replied indifferently.
The soldier’s body stiffened, his consciousness fading instantly.
"Damn... fuck... how strong am I?" Kael muttered, trembling slightly.
He had barely moved a finger, yet the soldier had collapsed immediately. The remaining force from his attack had shattered a nearby wall, leaving cracks in the ground as well.
"A Demigod is truly the starting point of real strength in this realm," Kael mused. "Fascinating. The Middle Lands are getting interesting—I wonder if I’ll meet anyone strong here."
He stood there, waiting for the soldier to regain consciousness.
A few hours later...
The soldier groggily woke up, his brain struggling to process what had happened. His body felt heavy, his mind dazed—and then it hit him.
"Where’s the boy?!" he gasped, eyes darting around.
Damn it. How could I lose him? The Commander will think I’m incompetent!
But then, a more pressing concern surfaced.
"What knocked me out?" he muttered as he knelt on his kneel.
A strange sensation trickled down his forehead. He raised his hand to check—blood.
"This..." The soldier’s breath hitched in disbelief.
A voice interrupted his thoughts.
"The more important question is... who did this?"
The soldier’s body stiffened. Slowly, he turned his head.
Kael stood before him, now clad in a dark robe, casually sipping a drink.
As the soldier stood frozen, trying to comprehend the situation, Kael raised his free hand and placed it on the soldier’s head.
"Be my slave."
The soldier’s mind went blank. His thoughts twisted into chaotic desires, his consciousness drowning in an overwhelming force.
A few minutes passed before his eyes, once lifeless, regained focus.
"I greet the God of Chaos," the soldier declared, still on his knees and bowing deeply.
Kael raised his left hand, staring at it in shock.
He hadn’t witnessed the transformation process firsthand until now. Although Elisa had already become his slave, she had been far away at the time.
Back then, when he first controlled her, he had felt something—an invisible connection forming in his mind. That connection was Elisa. He realized he could manipulate her actions with a mere thought. More than that, he could issue commands, and she would obey without question.
"Incredible," Kael murmured, a satisfied smile creeping onto his face. Yet, he sensed that this was only the beginning. His understanding of the Chaos Concept was still too shallow—there was much more he could do.
"Go back to Commander Rakus and tell him you found my family. Make it believable," Kael ordered.
"I heed the will of the Chaos God," the soldier responded. Without hesitation, he stood up and walked away.
Kael glanced down at his dark robe, a grin forming.
While the soldier had been unconscious, he had taken the time to explore a bit and buy these robes. He found that he liked them—they fit his aesthetic perfectly. And don’t ask him where he got the money... Kael’s mind flashed back to a fat man tied up naked with ropes.
With a few steps, he vanished, reappearing atop the attic of an abandoned building.
"I’ll stay here for the night," Kael murmured with a sigh, waiting patiently.
*******
A few hours later...
Night had fallen. Kael disappeared from his resting place, reappearing in a hidden corner of the city—a secluded spot he had found earlier.
A cloaked figure stood waiting for him.
"You got it?" Kael asked.
"Yes, Chaos God," the figure replied, kneeling on one knee and presenting a large book.
Kael took the book and disappeared without another word.
The figure stood up and walked away. As it moved, a sliver of light revealed its face—beautiful black eyes, delicate features, and an unmistakably feminine figure hidden beneath the cloak.
It was Elisa.
Kael’s first slave.
Meanwhile, Kael reappeared at the attic, glancing at the book in his hands.
Earlier, he had ordered Elisa to acquire a book that would provide insights for newcomers about this world, its power realms, and the various races that inhabited it.
Now, this should be it.
Though Kael appeared calm, a faint excitement flickered within him—an eagerness to uncover the realms of power and the beings that ruled this world.
Excerpts from the Book:
***After the Realm of War was created, the first race to emerge from it was the God Race.
***This race does not belong to any single species—they are born from all races.
***By the Fifth Era, after extensive studies conducted by various beings, a conclusion was reached: every member of the God Race possesses a Concept Ability—the very origin of a plane’s functionality and, in some cases, the foundation of all existence itself.
***As time passed, the Realm of War became home to many other races beyond the Gods.
***The Human Race, once dismissed as insignificant cockroaches, would later become one of the most feared species.
TheDragonRace—arrogantintheirmight.
ThePhoenixRace—proudandregal.

***These were the ten supreme races, but countless others lurked in the shadows, each wielding their own strength and influence.
***As these races flourished, expanding their power and dominion, tension simmered beneath the surface. All beings knew that war was inevitable—territorial disputes would escalate, interests would clash, and eventually, chaos would erupt.
***A thousand eras later, the first great war broke out—against the Primordial Cockroaches of the human race.
***Their adaptability, greed, and overwhelming reproductive capabilities made them a species to be feared. Even the Ratela Race competed with them for population dominance.
***But what truly sent shockwaves across the realms was the first god to be slain by humans—Elisama Guji, the Goddess of Wind.
***She had always been closest to humans, often seen as their protector. Yet, it was one of her own disciples—whom she had personally trained in the ways of Concept Abilities—who ultimately betrayed and killed her.
***His decree and unparalleled bravery sent waves of fear through the races.
***After all, no god had ever been slain before.
***That man continued his path of destruction, slaughtering gods far stronger than Elisama.
***Eventually, he was crowned the first God Killer.
***From other races, more god killers rose, and thus began the War of Amalgamation—a battle that reshaped the realm.
***Entire races were wiped from existence, vanishing into history. The once-unshakable order crumbled, and the first great transformation of the Realm of War began.
***The first God Killer—the man who shattered divine supremacy—was eventually recorded as the first Sequence in history.
***He became Sequence Zero of the God of Destruction.
***Though he was merely a Sequence and not yet a true god, his existence alone instilled fear across all realms.
***In the end, the Primordial Gods had no choice but to rise and seal him away, putting an end to the great war.
***But the damage had been done.
***And the consequences of that war... would haunt the races for eternity.
