Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Death and the end of the chaos trial

"He... who’s he?"

"He... what is that? He’s a dangerous creature! Didn’t you hear? He’s not from this world!"

"What’s going on?"

Whispers spread like wildfire as everyone stared in shock. This... what was this exactly? His strength was mind-blowing.

Fear gripped the crowd, but none were more terrified than the Grandmaster expert walking toward Kael. His body froze as Kael’s gaze finally settled on him.

"You amuse me. Did you really think I didn’t have a plan?" Kael said, chuckling lightly.

"I—"

That was all the Grandmaster expert managed to utter before his body turned into blood mist.

The crowd recoiled in horror.

"Villains die because they talk too much... And Garrick," Kael grinned, appearing directly in front of him.

Every Grandmaster expert beside Garrick instantly exploded into blood mist, even those at the peak of the realm.

"Let me guess—your master will be here soon? Too bad she’ll find you dead," Kael sneered.

Garrick’s eyes shrank in horror. The gap between them was undeniable. He stumbled backward in fear.

"Ah, come on. I have a lot of people to kill," Kael said indifferently.

Garrick landed, gasping for breath—only to feel sharp, searing pain in his knees. He looked down.

Only his knees remained. The rest of his legs were gone.

He opened his mouth to scream, but Kael placed a hand over it and squeezed.

BOOM! BOOM!

The ground quaked. Tides reversed. The sky shattered as birds screeched and animals howled in terror. Trees trembled as the dark sky turned violet.

The Son of Destiny—the one chosen by the world to lead it to greatness—was dead.

(Ding... Chaos Orb Trial completed.)

(Son of Destiny killed. The world is in chaos and dying.)

(The trial will officially close in five minutes. The host will be transported outside as this world collapses and is destroyed.)

(Rewards obtained:)

-Right to wield the orb of Chaos.

-Chaos Body (permanent). Unlike a mere physique, this cannot be taken away. Upon completing all three trials, your very body will be reconstructed into the Chaos Body.

-All-Seer Ability.

-Whisper of Chaos: Once activated, chaotic thoughts and desires will cloud the target’s mind. Effectiveness depends on the enemy’s strength—the stronger they are, the weaker the effect. The weaker they are, the stronger the effect. The host can control those clouded with chaotic desire.

"Wow..." Kael murmured, stunned by the notifications before him.

The silence around him was deafening. Did he really just kill the world’s chosen one... and nothing happened to him? His cultivation remained intact.

"This... how is this possible?" Darius muttered in disbelief. He wasn’t the only one.

Kael smirked. "Well, I only have five minutes, so let’s begin the cleanup."

The crowd snapped out of their daze, their bodies trembling in fear.

Suddenly, an overwhelming aura descended as a woman appeared.

"Where’s Garrick?"

Her presence alone made the air unbearably heavy. Most of those present choked, their bodies frozen, minds drowning in despair.

Then, just as suddenly, she vanished.

Kael sighed. "Sorry for the interruption. Now, where were we?"

All eyes fell on the blood mist.

"That aura... that was an Ancient Warrior."

A man murmured as he dropped to his knees. He was one of Kael’s "uncles," a peak Grandmaster expert, yet compared to that aura, he was nothing but an ant. And Kael... Kael had instantly killed her.

BOOM!

A body exploded into blood mist.

And so it began. People erupted into crimson mist at random.

Kael watched with relish as their sanity crumbled. The unpredictability broke them—no one knew who would die next. Fear consumed them all. Those who tried to flee? They didn’t even get the chance to turn into blood mist. They simply vanished.

The most terrifying part? No one ever saw Kael move.

His speed was incomprehensible.

Feeling artistic, Kael shaped the blood mist into delicate crimson flowers.

"Beautiful, isn’t it?" he asked, appearing beside three survivors—Valthera, Jack, and Darius.

"C-Crown... Prince..." Jack stammered—before he, too, turned into a blood mist flower.

Kael repeated his question, his gaze locking onto Darius.

Darius swallowed hard. He was sure of it now. This was not their Crown Prince. This was a demon. A terrifying amalgamation of chaos.

"B-Beautiful..." Darius managed to whisper.

Kael smiled. "Good. Then become one."

Darius’s eyes widened in terror, but it was too late. His body blossomed into yet another blood flower.

Kael turned to the last survivor. "And the last one. My dear elder sister... you’ve been awfully quiet."

Valthera’s expression remained indifferent. "If you leave now, I can still spare you. Otherwise, I will kill you."

Kael tilted his head. "A threat, or...?"

Before he could finish, a massive explosion erupted, forcing him to retreat hundreds of meters. He glanced down at his right arm—a bone-deep wound.

At where valthera once stood was a new figure . Her face was hidden, but her long black hair flowed freely. She wore battle armor that perfectly accentuated her form.

[Name: Valthera Stormbane (Forsaken Deity)]

[Title: Out of This World Deity]

[Rank: ???]

[Luck: 10,400]

Kael’s mind reeled. "Motherfucker..."

His eyes flicked to the woman that was formally his sister.

"Impressive."

Valthera struck, overwhelming him at first. She smashed through his defenses, leaving him bloodied and battered. But then Kael grinned.

"You’re strong, I admit. But compared to me... you’re nothing."

His voice was calm—absolute.

With a single movement, he snapped her neck. Her body disintegrated.

Kael exhaled, staring at the violet sky.

"That was unexpected. But this taught me a lesson—I need to be more cautious, have more backup plans, and never reveal my true strength."

Then, a golden light shimmered in the sky. The darkness receded.

Kael’s gaze locked onto an orb about five inches in diameter, floating upward.

[All-Seer]

[Name: ???]

[Title: Soul of the Forsaken Deity]

[Shard: 1/10,000]

Kael’s mind froze.

"Wait... wait... she was just a shard of a Forsaken Deity’s soul? Then how strong is a full-fledged deity?"

Shock filled his expression as he stared at the floating orb.

Another terrifying thought crossed Kael’s mind—the deity’s soul might have been split into thousands of shards. And now, he had seen just one of those ten thousand shards. If a single shard possessed such power, just how immense would the full soul be?

The sheer scale of it was staggering. A chilling realization, yet instead of fear, Kael felt pure excitement.

"Yes... this is what Earth could never give me. This strength... this taste... it’s addicting." Kael licked his lips, relishing the power coursing through him.

The world around him remained silent as the shard disappeared.

> (Time is up. Congratulations on passing the Chaos Trial and gaining the right to wield it. Your path to becoming the ultimate God of Chaos has begun.)

Kael processed the message as space distorted around him. In an instant, he found himself back in the white void where it had all begun.

> (Next Trial: The Trial of Nothingness.)

(Hint: Those who wield Nothingness must become Nothingness itself.)

(The trial will begin shortly.)

Kael frowned slightly.

"First, let me digest everything I gained from the Chaos Orb Trial."

Sitting cross-legged, he closed his eyes and sank into deep thought.

Minutes passed before he finally opened them again, his expression calm. He had analyzed the trial and reached several conclusions.

That world—the one he had assumed to be an illusion—had been real. And more importantly, there were far more hidden masters than he had initially thought. His sister, Valthera, was proof of that. What she had become was terrifying, yet Kael had been wary from the moment he saw her stats. Even after reaching her realm and killing Garrick, he had restrained himself, never showing his full strength. And it had paid off.

One lesson was clear—hiding one’s true strength was the right path. Caution was essential. Staying low-key was wise, but not too low-key.

Kael sighed. "My life on Earth was never this dangerous... or this thrilling." His thoughts wandered. "What will the next trial be like? What awaits me in the Realm of War? What beings reside there—deities, gods? Hmm..."

> (Trial will begin shortly.)

A grin spread across Kael’s face. Moments later, darkness overtook him.

*****************

"After all this time, someone has finally inherited the Chaos concept."

A voice echoed through a vast, lightless void where two humanoid figures stood, their silhouettes barely visible.

"Hahaha! Looks like this era will be more interesting than all the previous ones combined." The second figure chuckled.

"Oh? And what makes you say that?" the first being asked.

"We now have dual wielders of concepts. For instance, the Space-Time kid. Not only that, but ancient beings who had long perished... have begun reincarnating into this era."

Silence followed.

Then, the first being laughed. "Hahaha... Those old relics just couldn’t stay dead, huh?"

The second figure smirked. "And that’s not all... The God-Killers have returned."

The first figure’s laughter ceased, it’s expression darkening. "They survived?"

"No... They never truly perished." The second figure shook his head. "It seems this era is destined for chaos. Races that have remained hidden for eons are beginning to reemerge."

The first being’s eyes widened. "You don’t mean... the Phantoms are back too?"

The second figure grinned. "Hahaha, yes. And not just them. Many, many more."

The first figure exhaled sharply before speaking in a grim tone. "Then we must prepare for war."

The second being nodded.

"After all... this is the Realm of War."
