Multiple bang sounds went off, along with smaller explosions. Sending several huge sized brown ants back.

’They just don’t die easily huh?’ Kyle sighed lightly. He’d been mainly using his strength and speed, to take care of the ants. Seeing it was more efficient than dark flames.

Until he got cornered, and had to resort to dark flames explosion set.

His demon energy was long depleted after this shot, being the last. And there wasn’t much demon energy here, he could absorb.

’I need to find a path out of here.’ His mind raced on a route out of here, but everywhere he looked was the same. Like the castle was built to play tricks on one’s mind.

"Watch out!" Kyle yelled, seeing an ant getting too close to Ron. Opening it’s jaw, the beast tried to chomp him. but a spike pierced it’s skull, instantly killing it.

"Am a demon but they’re definitely stronger than me." Being a demon, Kyle was exposed to various benefits. And with Lilith as his wife, he was just damn lucky.

But even as a demon, he still struggled a lot with several battles. Only wining with the help of one thing or another. His parents on the other hand were a hybrid of some sort, he couldn’t tell. But they were sure as hell stronger than him, along with that black goo.

"Oh no you don’t." Disappearing from spot he appeared on the ant. Punching downwards to it’s head. Making a small hole after the 5th strike.

The system message flashed before his view, which he ignored. Briefly checking the ant for an orb, he came up short.

"They just keep coming." Kyle frowned, seeing dozens of ants marching forward from the back. With their numbers, they would eventually get tired for sure.

’Snow, can you tell if there’s an exit there?’ He inwardly said. Judging the ants only came from one direction, he had a gut feeling there was an entrance or exit leading out.

[My sensors are being hindered, but am betting there’s an exit.] Snow softly spoke to which Kyle nodded.

"No more holding back." Kyle muttered, unsheathing his frozen ice dragon katana.

’Screech!’

A loud screech echoed in the castle, shaking the whole palace. One by one, the brown worms out also let out the ear deafening screeches. Immediately dashing towards Kyle, ignoring xia and Ron.

’They’re not in their beserker mode right?’ He asked, seeing the ants suddenly go crazy like a command.

[No, it’s quite the opposite. Have you ever heard the joke ’do you know why the magnet found the fridge attractive?’]

’Yes, but I don’t see how that’s helpful.’ Kyle frowned, not in the mood for jokes. Seeing the swarms of any charging towards him.

[Hmph, such a scrounge. Anyways.. these ants are drawn to energy. Be it living or non living especially high energy. And your frozen katana happens to have a high amount of it.]

’So that’s the reason.’ Thanking snow, he dashed out like a blur. Reaching the swarms of ants in no time. Swinging his hand he moved fast, making several blurred slashes. Making it almost seem like a high class swordsman skill was being used.

’Screech!’ An ant jumped above the swarms of ants fast. It’s powerful jaws wide open, ready to clamp down on kyle. But the latter was faster, moving his arm in an arc. Dissecting the creature into two.

"They’re more annoying this way." Kyle frowned, noticing the ants speed increase in this condition. Making him constantly move about, making several slashes.

Several notifications flashed in his view, with every swing he made. Alerting him of an ant’s demise.

Using his full strength, he punched forward an already disfigured ant. Thanks to the help of xia and Ron aiding him. Creating a hole to it’s heart, instantly killing it.

Leaping back a bit, he dodged three ants aiming for his head. Then plunging his katana deep into the skull of an ant, beside him.

"Argh!" He sharply screamed in pain, feeling his left arm severed. Swiftly turning, he could see an ant emerge out of nowhere behind him. It wasn’t brown like the rest but red in colour. Having a much smaller frame like a big dog, with two hollow black eyes.

"Bastard." He grunted slashing vertically at the ant. Just as the katana was close to the beast, it did something strange. Using it’s mouth to bite down to the katana.

’I-it stopped my attack?’ A look of shock and disbelief flashed across Kyle’s eye. Using it’s front arms the ant attempted to pierce Kyle.

"I can still move!" Kyle sarcastically yelled, letting go of the katana. Dodging the ant strikes, sending out a fist to the beast head.

’Bam!’

A gunshot sound went off, as his fist collided with the insect skull. The exoskeleton of the red ant proving to be tougher than the brown ants. Having a much higher resistance, even after 5 of Kyle’s punches.

With over a hundred points in his strength, Kyle punched forward. Finally creating a crack in the beast head. Stunning the creature momentarily, before landing the final blow.

Huffing in air, Kyle pulled the katana from the dead ant. Pointing it towards the group of brown ants that’d stopped. A wild smirk plastered to his face.

"Come on!" He shouted, to which the ants responded with a screech. Moving fast with their legs, like the savages they were.

Not outright attacking, Kyle chose the unpredictable option. He ran!

’I have to create a passage for mom and dad.’ He thought pushing his legs forward, amidst the drain and injuries. With the katana, he could still handle the ants and last longer than his parents.

He also noticed the ants had stopped coming, after that powerful screech. Obviously belonging to their leader, which was the queen ant. So it was a good opportunity to quickly go all out, and get rid of the ants.

[I calculate a total of about 50 brown ants and two red.] Nodding, Kyle diverted into a separate part of the castle. Containing a few statues of ancient paintings, he saw in a book during history class while in Tokyo.

’So far I’ve managed to aquire 30 brown ant orbs, and only 2 red ant orbs.’ Storing them in the store, Kyle glanced a satisfied smile at the corpses of ants littered everywhere. Shaking his head, he proceeded out of this room. Meeting up with xia and Ron, already waiting at the entrance to the room.

"K-kyle, alright?* Xia asked with worry checking Kyle.

"Am fine mom, it’s nothing." He let out a bright smile, calming xia down but she wasn’t buying it.

"Arm, dis-appear?" Ron stuttered, pointing at Kyle’s left arm. Which had now almost fully grown back.

"Just a slight injury, it’ll grow back." He uttered, to which they both nodded. Still staring at his arm with blank eyes.

’Jeez.. I didn’t know they were that fascinated with my arm.’ Kyle smiled, finding it amusing his parents were staring at his regenerating arm. They were currently on their way to where the ants came from.

[Or they just wanna eat you. Who knows, they might be advanced zombies with abilities.] snow joked, earning a scoff from Kyle.

’Yeah, and I’ll definitely accept my death.’

[Your death? Don’t forget we’re two souls merged as one] snow uttered in a wise tone, making Kyle raise a brow.

’Souls merged as one? Why, I didn’t know you had a thing for me.’ Kyle smirked, an idea popping up.

Using the map, he then navigated his way more into the spacious passage. Built with several strange red bricks. With lit up torches, illuminating an eerie green light.

"Why does this feel like one of those pyramids with boobie traps,0 and treasures and stuff." Though the castle was built with sand, it was designed like the ancient pyramids in Greek mythology. Where emperor’s tombs laid, containing priceless treasures and traps.

"The map didn’t mention a trap b-but-" he didn’t finish his words, stepping on a fake floor.

’Rumble!’ The ground rumbled, pieces of derbies falling from the ceiling. Along with the opening of the wall by the left, revealing several ants.
