Trapped In A Novel As The Breeding Mate For Four Powerful Alphas -
Chapter 129: I still have my common sense
Chapter 129: I still have my common sense
"It’s fine." Min-Cheol said, dusting the Pheromones off his body. "He’s asleep right now."
Hearing that, I sighed in relief.
"Thank goodness," I said, but then Min-Cheol leaned closer, his feet staying on the spot he was standing on.
"Hyung," he called. He probably knew he couldn’t come closer because of the Pheromones that were stuck to him, so he simply pushed his head forward to seem closer to me.
"Yes, Little Min?"
"Would you have done it?" He asked, and I paused.
I folded my arms, brushing my hand over my arm as I threw my gaze away softly and pitifully.
"If I had to." I answered. "I was the one who brought the video to him. So, if it had come to that..."
"Wouldn’t you be scared?" He asked, his expression looking rather disturbed than confused.
"I... I would." I said and pursed my lips. "But it’s not like I would have a choice either." I turned to look at him, smiling faintly. "I have to be responsible for my actions."
He looked at me in disbelief, his eyes looking like he would cry, but at the same time, he wanted to punch the wall. My cute baby was worried about me.
Then, he looked like he had more to say, but he was hesitant, throwing his gaze away, clenching his fist, and spying on me through the corner of his eyes before rolling his eyes to the ground.
It looked like he was searching for the words to construct his question. Then, he finally turned his gaze back to me, facing me with his full chest as he parted those pretty lips to finally speak.
"Then, let me ask you one more question."
What now?
"If you had played the video on your own,"
Ah, what’s this? Why do I feel like I know what this guy is going to ask?
"...and you had to inhale the aphrodisiac alone. Who would you run to for help?"
Ah, I knew it. This guy... Wasn’t his competitiveness getting out of hand? He wanted me to start picking out the one I liked the most?
Of course, he was my favourite for now since he had spent the most money on me, but that doesn’t mean I would suddenly jump into his or one of the others’ beds as soon as I start feeling hot.
I still have my common sense.
"No one." I answered, smiling innocently.
"Huh?" He looked at me, confused.
"Min-Cheol, remember when I said I told you about that Alpha who tried to force himself on me when I was weak from my heat, well, this situation would be no different, I think."
Just because I’m hot and needy doesn’t mean I would open up to anyone ready to get me laid.
"I would be scared, powerless, and hot, but my will and common sense will still be there. I would be scared most of all, and so long as the fear is there, I wouldn’t want anyone to touch me or even come near me because I know what it would lead to. I’d be on high alert. As long as it’s a situation where I have ’no choice’ but to go along with it, I won’t be able to let my guard down, and the fear will lead my actions." I exhaled roughly and brushed my hand over my neck.
I was probably talking too much.
"So, do you think I’ll be able to run to anyone in that situation?"
Min-Cheol bit his bottom lip, clenching his fists, and I wondered what thoughts he was entertaining this time around.
"I’m sorry, Hyung." He apologized. "I didn’t even think of that and was thinking in another direction with my own selfish interest in front. I thought there would be only one way for you, but I disregarded your own fears and insecurities. I won’t do that next time."
He was quick to admit his mistake.
Min-Cheol has never fallen in love with anyone before. He’s never even liked anyone in his life. He hated humans in general and treated them as toys that were easy to break with a little twitch and turn.
So, all this was new to him. This feeling of insecurity that someone else would take my interest, and selfish desire to possess me... They were new to him, and he was having a hard time controlling it so it wouldn’t inconvenience me.
I’d say he was doing a good job. He was doing a better job than I would if I were in his position, honestly.
I’d give him a hug right now if not that he reeked of Ki-hoon’s violent Pheromones.
"You talk quite big," I heard that annoying voice from the other side and rolled my eyes. "You said you’d never run to anyone for help because you’re too scared?"
Seo-Jun just had to butt in.
He approached with his hands tucked in his pockets and a grin plastered on his lips.
"Let’s assume you’re right. And then what? Do you think the aphrodisiac was something simple? It was lethal. You would’ve died." He stood in front of me, hovering over me with those red, deranged eyes and a seductive appeal leaking from his presence.
Did he put on a seductive cologne or something?
"How’d I have known?" I asked him. "There’s no way I would’ve known that the end of that struggle was death and as long as I didn’t know, as long as the fear of death was absent, the fear of another man forcing himself on me would rule and not allow me to take a step out of the cold bath I would submerge myself in. And if I were to die from there, that’s that." I looked him deep in the eye. "At least, the culprit wouldn’t be let off easily."
I expected to provoke him, but his expression did not move. He smirked, as if knowing I’d give such a response.
"Get off your high horses, Hwang Jo-Pil." He said.
"You bastard, you’ve gone too far." Min-Cheol said over his gritted teeth, but Seo-Jun waved him off.
"Yeah, yeah. Say that to my face later once you’ve aired yourself." He looked at me, his eyes hinting with interest. "I’ve got business with this little bunny, so we’ll take our leave."
Ah, right. He came to take me so I could give me my self-proclaimed otherworldly stories.
I sighed.
"It’s alright, Min-Cheol. I know we’ve yet to see his worst, but I’ll prepare myself well from now on." I said to Min-Cheol, who had a scary dark expression on his face.
After I said that, his eyes softened as he looked at me with worry.
"Be careful, Hyung. This guy is a snake." He hissed with a spiteful tone, but Seo-Jun simply picked the words out of his ears and said,
"Says the one who’s hissing at my face right now." He sneered. "Stay in your lane, kid. You don’t want to get hurt while the adults are talking."
I nearly palmed my face, but before I even got the chance to do so, Seo-Jun suddenly picked me up and flung me over his shoulder.
"What are you...?"
"We’re going to have a little date at the library before dinner’s ready." He said as I panicked, frailing my arms and legs on his shoulder. "Hold still." He said but I wouldn’t and then he spanked my ass.
