Chapter 73: The infuriating peep star.
Chapter 73: The infuriating peep star.
Jun Muyang returned to the living room with a tray of cakes and glasses of yoghurt. Mama Chi followed him with Mei-Mei in her arms leaving a trail of crumbs in her path. The little girl had refused to let go of the cake.
"Brother-in-law, people are saying that you were dumped on the internet." Chi Zimo whispered to him.
Jun Muyang pulled his phone out of his pocket and checked what was trending. ’Jun Muyang dumped.’ was trending as a headline which was quickly rising up in the ranks. So many other entertainment blogs and shows were discussing it already.
The mighty little peep star was responsible for putting his business out there once more. One could call the paparazzo determined because below the post were different pictures of a bouquet of flowers being delivered every day.
He was receiving one text after another every few seconds from his friends. They all wanted to know if he had really been dumped.
"Jun Muyang did my sister dump you?" Chi Rui asked him directly. He was in the entertainment business of course he would receive an alert if something about his sister was trending.
"Dumped!" He Weili looked at her son with a horrified face. "Muyang what did you do to my daughter-in-law?"
"Go and apologize right now." Old madam pushed him with her walking stick.
"What is going on?" Mama Chi asked.
"Check your phones, the news is trending everywhere."
Every person who had a phone in the room pulled out their phone and then looked at Muyang for clarification. The mighty little peep star was not known for making up stories. There was no smoke without fire when it came to that paparazzo.
"Hello, Bolin," Chi Wei answered a call and walked away.
Muyang did not have to guess the reason for the call. Bolin was interested in Chi Lian. He must be calling to confirm the rumor. One slight rumor and the sharks were circling.
There would be no bees buzzing around his flower. Not while he was alive.
He pulled out his phone and replied directly under the paparazzo’s post.
@official Jun Muyang: [I have never been dumped.]
That should be enough for all those with working brains to figure out what he meant.
"Eh, Muyang did you just post something?" his mother asked. Muyang’s account only posted business affairs. He had never even replied to anyone before. This son of hers was really growing up.
"Muyang did you really fight with Chi-Chi?" his grandmother asked.
"No, that paparazzo is just spinning the story for clicks and followers."
"Does she really send you a bouquet of flowers every day?" his mother asked.
"Yes." He smiled proudly.
He Weili really gave credit to Chi Lian. This was serious dedication. Then again, her son needed special means to be caught in a trap.
"Have you ever sent her flowers?" Chi Wei asked coldly.
Muyang remained silent.
"That’s what I thought." Chi Wei said. Nobody should blame him for not being supportive of the relationship when his sister was doing all the heavy lifting. What kind of man allowed a woman he liked to woo him?
"Muyang, you can’t be passive." His mother advised. "If you are too passive, she will lose interest and move on."
"We have a child together." He said.
"Yes, they have a child together; you cannot take that bond away easily." The old master assured his daughter-in-law.
"Bolin said he doesn’t mind being a step-father." Chi Wei informed them. Jun Muyang could never be allowed to be too comfortable before officially marrying his sister. He needed to know that she has options.
"Chi Wei, if you don’t talk, will you die?" his father asked. Where could his daughter get a better match than Jun Muyang? He loved her child and his family loved her. He was also hardworking and wealthy. He did not have bad habits like keeping mistresses, alcoholism or gambling. What more could a father ask for?
"Yes big brother shut up." Chi Zimo added in support of his father.
"You brat." Chi Wei attempted to smack his younger brother.
"In–laws ignore our eldest. He dotes on his sister the most and hates every suitor in her life. If he could have his way, his sister would shave her head and become a nun."
"We understand." Old madam smiled. It was only natural for siblings to be protective of one another. Chi Lian was the only girl among three boys. Obviously they were very protective of her.
But in her heart, the old madam hoped her grandson would step and work harder to woo this good girl quickly.
"What is everyone talking about?" Chi Lian asked as she came downstairs freshly showered.
"The fox in the hole." Muyang said. Chi Lian was at the top of his list of suspects for the identity of that nosy paparazzo.
"The what?" she asked in confusion.
"The peep star posted something about you and Muyang again. Apparently you dumped him."
"What?" she pretended to be so outraged. "How dare that paparazzo!"
She noticed that Muyang’s reply to the peep star was also trending so she took out her phone and replied.
@official Lady Chi Lian: [I will never dump Jun Muyang.]
"Oh, sister you also replied. The two of you will be trending tomorrow. This is an official confirmation of a relationship." Chi Zimo told her. By doing this, all of Jun Muyang’s female admirers would be coming for her online.
Jun Muyang took it one step further, he pulled Chi Lian close and put their hangs together, then he pulled Mei-Mei close and took a picture of all their hands together.
He posted the picture to his moments with a caption that read ’family.’
Before rumors of his daughter got around in public, he would be the first to announce it this way. All his friends and family should know first.
"Muyang, are you sure?" his mother asked.
"Yes." He said.
"In that case the family should start preparations." She said.
"Mother, father, Muyang has posted a picture of Mei-Mei and Chi-Chi’s hands on his moments, soon the whole family will know about her. I think we should have an official banquet and introduce her to society properly."
The two elders agreed. Old madam was so excited that she planned a shopping spree for the next day. There was so much to do.
The old master started inviting his friends.
"T4," Chi Lian called in her head.
"On it."
The mighty little peep star: [I told you, nothing in this empire gets past me while you were all debating the meaning of Jun Muyang’s reply and Chi Lian’s words. I found something more interesting in Jun Muyang’s moments.]
Below was picture that Jun Muyang posted, His, Chi Lian’s and Mei-Mei’s hands.
Fire baby: [It can’t be what I am thinking.]
Jun Muyang’s baby: [Suddenly I am shaking in fear, let’s stick with the debate, this is frightening.]
Sleeping panda: [Chi Lian’s haters are about to be put to shame.]
Strong Kai: [Does this mean Jun Muyang has a wife and child?"]
