Chapter 72: Was Jun Muyang dumped?
Chapter 72: Was Jun Muyang dumped?
"Let me guess, "Muyang said sarcastically, "You rescued her."
The rest of the family looked at her questioningly. Indeed, they realized, Jian Yu appeared to be injured and disheveled.
"Well I couldn’t leave her in danger." Chi Lian defended herself.
"Of course you couldn’t, you have turned yourself into Mother Teresa, helping the world is your calling. Never mind that you ditch the bodyguards without a care in the world." He said.
"Muyang." Old master called his name sternly.
How could he say such words casually in the presence of grandma Meng and her family? Chi Lian had rescued them as well, wouldn’t they feel embarrassed.
"Chi-Chi, Muyang doesn’t mean it that way, he is just worried about you. Rescuing others is not a bad thing but you have to be security conscious. You can’t just head into danger without protection." The old madam explained what her pig headed grandson had failed to articulate.
"Hmph," Jun Muyang responded.
"Grandma, grandpa, I understand, I am very careful when it comes to my personal security. How can I put myself in danger when I have Mei-Mei and Muyang and everybody else that loves me so much? Grandma, I brought some snacks, let me put everything in the kitchen and the maids will bring some out for everyone."
She run away before anymore mention of her security could be brought up. How could she explain to them that it’s the people who try to harm her that should worry? She had so many alien gadgets and T4 to back her up.
In the kitchen, she opened a storage box and took out three loaves Bread, five packets of cakes and two medium sized cans of yoghurt. T4 had acquired the machinery which produced those things in the farm. She would take a few and other things are put up for sell in the mall.
Jaggert was operating the account which sold the items. The income was split equally between them. Only few virtual farms were produced per year and food was expensive on their planet. T4 had proposed that Jaggert help her sell the food over there since she could earn a lot to buy other things and she agreed.
He had even acquired sugar cane stems which were delivered to her office. Soon, her family would not have to buy sugar or syrup.
The system was simply amazing.
In the future she would have some alien currency to buy more technology from their world.
"Chi Lian," Muyang called her name coldly. He had followed her into the kitchen.
"Muyang," she replied coquettishly." I am home." She went forward and wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Where are my flowers?"
"Huh." She was confused.
"You have been sending flowers to me every day; I didn’t get any flowers today. Why?"
Oh-oh! She had been so busy today that she had forgotten to send the flowers. But did he really need flowers every day?
Unknown to her, Jun Muyang indeed wanted the flowers every day. In the beginning he did not care much for them. They were nothing but a source of gossip in the office. Each time the large bouquet was delivered the secretaries would gather around and whisper. Because she had specified that different colors and types be delivered every day, employees in his office would bet money on which color or type of flowers would be delivered the next day.
Someone had even gone ahead to look up the meaning of the flowers and put a post it on the company notice board explaining the meaning of the flowers.
It read: Theme today; I love you. The next day when new flowers arrived, the post it would be changed, Theme today; I miss you.
Lately the post it notes matched the color of the delivered flowers. They would be green, red, and yellow, blue, white.
It was a great source of gossip and entertainment in the company. Even the executives were partaking in the foolishness.
Today, the flowers didn’t come. All throughout the day he waited but no flowers came. Every time Wenzhe opened his office door his heart would skip a beat expectantly only to be disappointment. He had been in a foul mood all day.
The whispers and pitiful secret stares of his workers drove him crazy. Everyone was assuming that he had been dumped or Chi Lian had lost interest in him.
He had come home early only to find her absent. And when she returned, it was with another stray puppy {Jian Yu} she had rescued.
He was angry and frustrated.
"Muyang, sweetie, baby," she called coquettishly. "I am sorry; I forgot to renew the order. I promise to send a bouquet bigger than the usual ones tomorrow." She coaxed him as much as she could.
Still, the cold ice block would not melt.
"Honey, Yang-Yang," she kissed his neck.
"Yang-Yang!" he said and stared her in disbelief. "Chi Lian," he warned.
She laughed silently and then loudly.
"My Yang-Yang, your Chi-Chi is sorry. She will do better, hmm, forgive me." She wheedled.
"Aiyooo, our Yang-Yang, we have been calling you the wrong name all these years." He Weili interrupted the couple and laughed at her son. "Mother, Father, Muyang has a new name." she yelled loudly as she went to share what she had just seen and heard.
Muyang looked at the trouble causer, "Chi Lian, if anybody calls me that ridiculous name, I will spank you again. And this time I will be merciless." He threatened.
While all this was happening, the chef and a few maids were hiding in the large pantry and shivering. Why couldn’t these big bosses go and romance from somewhere else privately. They were interfering with their jobs.
"You two," Mama Chi pushed the kitchen door open, "What are you doing that you have forgotten your daughter sitting high up on the kitchen counter. She can easily fall down if she is not careful and what is she eating?"
Mei-Mei who was not interested in her parent’s romance had discovered one of the packets of cakes and decided to help herself to a few.
"Look at all this; she has ruined five good cakes. What good parents you are!" Mama Chi berated them. Didn’t these two know that you never leave a baby on a kitchen counter or around open food and snacks except when you are feeding the child?
"Sorry." Chi Lian apologized.
"Sorry." Jun Muyang said.
"You promised your in-laws snacks but you have been in here for more than ten minutes and not come out. You are becoming irresponsible Chi Lian."
"Mother," Chi Lian shouted aggrievedly and stomped her foot.
"Indeed she is becoming irresponsible." Jun Muyang agreed. This flower blunder would not easily be erased.
"I am going to shower." She left Mei-Mei to the two who were in cahoots and went to her room.
