Chapter 664: Shepherd reporting for battle.

The next day was bound to be eventful at the company, right from the beginning. First of all everyone was waiting for Ehuang and her three companions that were assumed to be the three who were gossiping about the CEO to arrive for work. There was a bet going around as some people guessed that the three shameless women will not show up.

Secondly the first part of Wu Liang and Bei Qing’s story had aired. Tempers had flared, accusations were made, and old secrets were revealed.

Because of time, the interview had to be pushed and everyone was waiting for the sensational ending to the feud. Would the two friends shake hands, hug or fight?

And lastly, they were anxiously waiting to see the reaction of the CEO and the repercussions for those who were deemed responsible.

The first curiosity was quickly answered because all three women showed up to work. For reasons unknown, Ehuang did not wear white but she wore a red dress. This abnormality made her stand out even more.

The third curiosity would soon be answered as Chi Lian showed up to work late deliberately and she donned a silk white dress and a long white coat with fur on the arms. On her feet were the white heels with pearls which Muyang gave her.

Pictures of her were quickly circulated around the office.

"The CEO looks deadly today."

"This is a declaration of war, white on white."

"But Ehuang wore red, what does this mean?"

"Oh My God, someone is getting fired today, you cannot convince me otherwise."

"As one of the few who were called sheep I sincerely hope that they are axed."

More comments poured in on private chats that were filled with excitement. As for the three who were at the center of it all, they tried to keep their heads low and pretend that they were so busy with work. But how could they work with all the eyes on them or the snide comments which sent their way.

Two hours after she arrived, Chi Lian continued to work and said nothing about the matter.

Soon, it was time for lunch and still, none of the three had been fired. They had not been called into the human resources office or berated by a superior.

As they carried their food trays, people whispered about the issue.

"What is happening?"

"Why hasn’t the CEO done anything?"

"The post has been deleted from the forum."

"What??? Let me check"

The environment was so uncomfortable that Ehuang jumped up and shouted, "It wasn’t me, why am I being wrongfully accused?"

As usual, she went out running as she had been wronged by someone.

Chi Lian watched, and she smiled.

"You are so evil." T4 told her.

"I told you that I intend to let them stew, I want them to sweat as if they are sauna before I stab them with my sharp iron dagger."

"And I am fully on board with this plan." T4 chuckled.

At one of the tables, someone asked, "Did you see that, the CEO smiled."

"What does that mean?" Her neighbor asked as well.

Pd Rao was one of those who understood that smile and what it meant.

"I knew that fake angel girl would get herself into trouble with her loose lips. Why gossip about your employer?" Pd Fu commented.

"It’s youth, it makes them blind and foolish." Pd Rao answered.

"So, will they be fired or not?" Pd Fu asked.

"It’s a mystery." Pd Rao shrugged.

And the day continued like that, with some employees watching the clock and counting down the seconds that would close the end of the work day like a house door being shut at night before the occupants went to bed. Once that door was closed, no guests were expected.

Five minutes were left, and everyone had given up on anyone being terminated.

Suddenly, an email was sent out, inviting a few people to the office human resources. Included among those people were the women who had been referred to as sheep.

Once more, word spread faster than a wild fire, and everyone who worked on the floor where the human resources office was quickly located a window or gathered around their office doors and focused their eyes on the hallway.

They watched those who had received emails go inside and the doors shut, blocking out their peeping eyes which were greedy to know what was about to occur behind them.

In her car which was being driven by Spider, Chi Lian was watching footage on her laptop. Every humorous second filled her with glee.

More entertained was T4 who kept saying, "Look at them, they are just lapping it up."

He was referring to the employees who would not leave the office even though the work day for most had ended.

He brought closer footage of a man and said, "This one always leaves at five on the dot. In fact, he slowly packs up his things at four thirty and yet he is yet to pack today."

The man was one of the best video editors in phoenix, and he was good at his job. He was better at time management because he was always first in the door in the morning and first out when the work day ended.

Thirty minutes later, the doors opened and again, news spread. One by one, those who had been called inside alighted from the office of human resources.

Four women were smiling, two were crying and one was stoic. She looked angry, her jaw was clenched and she marched with fury in her steps.

Pd Rao was one of those who had come down to satisfy his curiosity.

He looked at his assistant pd and said, "Look at that, the company crier is not shedding a single tear and yet her friends are."

He was referring to Ehuang, she was the stoic one. It was really a wonder that the woman who cried or everything was not crying in this situation.

A company wide announcement was sent out on the forum, informing everyone that three people had been terminated for indiscipline and other listed reasons. Their names were boldly indicated in capital letters.

Finally, everyone was satisfied, and those who had bet on this result got their winnings. But then, someone raised a question, if three had been fired, why were the other four invited to the office?

Those four were surrounded and questioned.

"Oh," one of them said, "We were simply being asked if we would like to sue those three for referring to us as sheep. The CEO told us over the phone that she will be our mighty shepherd and pay for lawsuit. Our emotions were damaged and our mental health has not been steady ever since we were called sheep."

"Eh!" someone said loudly.

"Wow."

"No wonder the CEO was holding back all day."

"So they are getting fired and sued!!! I would not want to be them right now?"

"But apparently that Ehuang is returning to HTV. Was she really one of the victims?"

"This was worth the long wait because the ending is really satisfactory."

As they discussed the events of the day, they looked forward to something else now, the new episode of tea with a princess.
