Chapter 663: Baa, baa, black sheep

At night, before going to bed, Chi Lian noticed that the phoenix office forum was buzzing non-stop, others could describe it as being on fire. Something was going on and it had to be major.

"What have I missed T4?" she asked.

"Gossip host, and it’s about you. Should I play the audio file which has been posted to you?"

"Go ahead." she said.

T4 played the file and she listened to three silly women gossip about her brother, Jian Yu and herself. Two were blatant in what they said but one would say something and then veil it with excusable additions.

"It’s that failed spy who was sent to undermine the company, right? That fake angel woman." she asked T4.

"She is trying her best to make you appear like a selfish boss who cares about herself but not her employees. Did you hear the last thing one of those women said?"

"About the sheep?" she asked him.

"No, about you needing to buy friends because half of your friends work for you." he answered. "Why do most of your friends work for you by the way?"

"Have you ever heard about a little something called proximity? Besides, I have known Lili since we were teens."

"What should I do about it?" he asked her.

"Nothing, let it steep. I want to see how those three will show up to work tomorrow. Besides, Ehuang slipped through the cracks when human resources was hiring because I prioritized women from HTV. If you had discovered her true identity and warned me to keep an eye on her I would not know that she was HTV’s mole within my house. I have been looking for a justifiable reason to fire her and I have one now."

T4 knew that his host loved chaos just as much as he did and he was looking forward to the work environment tomorrow.

"By the way, who shared the audio?" she inquired from him.

"Your secretary Shu Li shared it in the chat group for secretaries. Gu Xixi’s secretary Lin Na uploaded it on the company forum along with the words, "The work market is clearly not tight enough."

Chi Lian chuckled and laughed, ’Oh wow,’ she said, "It’s true because only an idiot would gossip about their boss at the company on irrelevant matters. It’s time for them to search for jobs elsewhere."

"The comments are even better, T4 said.

[Do these shameless people really work in the same company as us?]

[Why did you disguise their voices, please make it clear so that I can know if one of these ungrateful women sits next me. I would like to shift my chair soonest before blood starts spilling.]

[So because the CEO’s friends came over and surprised her, an ordinary worker wants the same thing to be done for her. Who do you think you are?]

[I am sure that dark angel is one of them because she has been going around the company dropping shit on the CEO covertly.]

[The sense of entitlement among some people is truly baffling. How are the CEO’s private affairs your business?]

[Why would the CEO stay friends with her brother’s ex girlfriend? Did they enter a friendship contract?]

[I hope they are all fired, and they can discover how hard it is out there to find a good job.]

[I will come out and say it, those three must be Wang Ehuang, Jun Ping and Ju Jiaqi. They tried to involve us in a similar conversation yesterday but we were smart enough to shut them out immediately.]

[So you are the sheep they mentioned, hahaha. I dare those three to come to work tomorrow.]

The employees were enjoying themselves and they turned into detectives who were hellbent on discovering whether those three were really the guilty parties.

Work tomorrow would surely be very interesting.

"I will send an email to your HR, and I will draft their termination statements personally. Cause of termination will be cited as stupidity." T4 volunteered.

Muyang found her chuckling when he came out of the bathroom with a towel in his hands which he was using to dry his hair.

"What has made you so happy?" he asked her.

"A trio of idiots at my company who don’t seem to know better. It’s time to trim away the sick leaves before they rot my tree."

"Is it the small white fly that has been buzzing around you?" he carefully laid on the bed as he asked.

He had to be careful because their two children were in their bed and already fast asleep.

"You heard about that!" she feigned surprise.

She was sure that Wenli had already filled Wenzhe in on the issue. The two siblings were probably on the company forum commenting or reading comments.

"Look, I am already receiving calls." she showed him her phone.

"What happened?" he asked her.

She went into an an exaggerated tale of the three women and what they said. When she was finished, Muyang was shaking his head and chuckling.

"Why are you laughing?"

"He covered his mouth, stopping himself from chuckling too loudly to interfere with the children’s sleep.

When he had chuckled to his satisfaction, he told her, "The sheep comment is hilarious. You do realize that if your faithful employees are sheep then you are the shepherd."

She frowned in dissatisfaction at the reference, and one and one side of her upper lip rose up.

"Baah!" Muyang bleated, perfectly mimicking the sound made by a sheep.

She tossed her pillow at him and hissed.

He caught the pillow and added it on to the one he already had. Then he laughed and said, "My little shepherd, since you do not want the pillow, I will keep it."

"Shut up." she aimed her foot at him this time, but he caught it and shook his head.

"Wife, you will wake the kids."

She took her foot back but warned him with a fist, "Call me a shepherd one more time."

"No more, I promise." he said, but still, he laughed softly. "What are you going to do about them? They can be terminated under the grounds of creating a hostile work environment. Undermining the authority of their superiors, engaging in behavior contrary to the company work of conduct. The grounds are legal and ripe for use, don’t stress yourself with petty little issues like this."

"I wanted to have some fun with that Ehuang but it’s not going to be possible." She looked down at her buzzing phone again and switched it off.

If there was an emergency, T4 would settle it.

She asked him, "Did you settle any issues at your company? I heard that you lost quite a large sum of money in just a week, almost three billion."

"I settled most it, and the companies which run away are already crawling back but I have no intention of accepting their money again. It’s a similar situation with some of my employees who were lured away. In a way, this has enabled me to trim my own sick leaves."

"I guess all is well that ends well." she said in a soft voice.

"Mmm.’ he nodded slowly.

As she was putting the phone away, she heard Muyang humming baa, baa, black sheep.

"Jun Muyang."

"I am singing a lullaby for the children." he claimed.

She sighed, because she knew that this would probably go on for a while, a week perhaps.
