Chapter 657: Is he crippled or not?

Two days passed, and while the nation still buzzed, swollen with talk about Jun Muyang, the rich abandoning one of their own and a possible serial killer, something else was added to the trending topics.

The mighty little peep star: [This peep star successfully got a short video of Professor Jun Muyang who has already snuck back into the empire. My colleagues who have been waiting at the airport for the past two days, please return home and rest. I have already beaten you to the punch.]

The short video showed Muyang in the cold town, leaving the science park in a wheel chair. It was being pushed by one of the six bodyguards who surrounded him. Walking besides him was his long time secretary, one whose face everyone knew, secretary Wen.

[Peep star I believe that your post is missing a big explanation, why is he in a WHEELCHAIR?]

[Oh my God!, exactly how bad was our handsome professor injured?]

[Welcome home CEO Jun, it is great to see his face after the rollercoaster we have been riding of his rumored impending death.]

[Why is he sitting in a wheelchair?]

[Tell us if he is crippled, come out and say it directly.]

[I am laughing because the other paparazzi waiting at the airport must be cursing. How did you beat them to it again peep star?]

[Whether he is crippled or not, I am just happy that he has returned home alive.]

[Why do you speak as if you are his wife or family member? What if his wife cares about him returning crippled?]

[The peep star strikes again!!!!!! others should hang up their cameras and give up. Now do Go Cheng Yen the slippery actor, is he in the empire or not?]

[Please stand up again professor, I am your good student rooting for you.]

[Get well soon CEO Jun.]

[He is not dead but crippled, what is the difference?]

[Did he got to the science park in search of prosthetics? What happened on the plane that caused it to crush? How was he found and rescued? Why are the families silent on the issue? I am very disappointed in the way his wife, the CEO of phoenix news handled the coverage of his search and rescue with such secrecy. As his well wishers we had the right to know how he was fairing. How can an entire national tv not have footage of anything related to the incident? I will not watch phoenix tv anymore or support anything phoenix related ever again in my life.]

[Above idiot, taking away your two yuan will not a make a dent in the fortune of Midas Chi. You had a right to know about the search and recue, as who? Are you a family member? Some of you have shitty reasoning and need a beating for your sanity to be restored.]

Most of the comments were read to her by her by T4, and she laughed or sneered at those which were ridiculous. So because he was in a wheelchair he was crippled? Did that mean all the patients who were pushed out of the hospital buy nurses in wheel chairs were crippled? Some humans had tiny brains, very tiny fish sized brains.

She was in a car that had travelled for two miles outside the capital and come to a hospice that was isolated away from the loud center of the city.

The road leading to this hospice was covered by shadows provided by tall trees that were lined up on either side.

The gate and fence surrounding the hospice was tall, made of steel bars and covered in small vine purple and pink flowers.

A medium sized white and blue poster welcomed all visitors and patients, it read, ’welcome to sacred heart hospice.’

Checking in at the entrance was not complicated, all that the security guards asked for was her identification and her purpose for visiting. She claimed that she was thinking of bringing a relative over but she wanted a tour of the hospice first.

She saw the eyes of the two security guards roam calculatingly over her car before she was allowed inside. She had deliberately driven a car that screamed ’I am rich.’ to anyone that took a glance at it. It was one of Sunning motor’s latest self driving cars which run on nuclear technology.

"They allow rich clients inside quite easily." T4 said.

"Money has it’s uses." she replied.

She heard one of the security guards say, "The car is so silent, it did not make a single noise when it was started. What kind of engine is it running on?"

"I don’t even recognize it but I know it’s expensive." the other security guard said. "Why is a rich woman driving herself around anyway? Maybe I should recommend myself to be her driver and bodyguard."

"I think I have seen her somewhere." the other said.

Chi Lian did not know if she was recognized or not but she parked the car, stepped out and walked elegantly in her blood red heels and went into the hospice.

The hospice was privately owned so a sizeable amount of money had gone into it’s establishment. The compound was beautifully paved with lovely colorful flowers, she counted two fish ponds in the front compound of the hospice.

They had large tall trees under which were metal benches on which a few patients were sitting under the shade with nurses that accompanied them. Some were not sitting on the benches but in wheelchairs.

Most of them were old, and oxygen tanks were attached to the wheel chairs. Some were young, but their situation was not much better because they had feeding tubes, crutches and other devices that aided them in different ways.

"I can understand the old people being here but not the young ones." she said to T4. "Find out what ails them and see if we can help."

"I knew this was coming." T4 sighed, "I am on it."

She went passed the front desk, exuding confidence as if she had been there many times before.

"Excuse me." one of the receptionists from the front desk came running after her. "Miss, the one in red heels." she called loudly.

Chi Lian stopped moving and she turned back. Before entering the hospital, she had put on a pair of black sun glasses.

When the nurse came closer, she took off her sun glasses and looked at her, with one of her eyebrows raised.

The nurse smiled nervously and said, "All guests need to sign in and inform us about why they are here. It’s for security purposes."

Chi Lian smiled and replied, "I am here to see your director about making a donation. We already have an appointment and he is expecting me so you don’t need to mind my business."

"Oh," the nurse laughed nervously, "Sorry."

Watching her scurry back to her post behind the reception desk, Chi Lian told T4, "Like I said, money has it’s uses."

"So, are you really donating money to this place?" he asked her.

Chi Lian put her sun glasses back over her eyes and replied, "They take in ten old injured and retired soldiers each year whose families cannot afford their care. I don’t mind donating, that’s why I told you to make the appointment. But what I am truly here for is the one and only Yan Daya, I should check in on my old friend. I am sure that she has missed me."
