Chapter 636: Even his wife has given up

Four days passed and the search for Muyang and the other missing passengers on air Juan was deemed hopeless not just by authorities but also the citizens of the empire. At this point if anything was to be recovered, everyone assumed that it would be body parts or bones. They would even be lucky to find those.

The Jun’s however were keeping up appearances and for them, the search was still on and it was going strong to the extent that all or most of the family members were now living on a yacht permanently until they achieved that which they desired.

Even the children and the servants were on the yacht and it was not just them but the Chi’s as well.

In such times, the people relied on the peep star for details to do with the Jun’s.

The mighty little peep star: [Chi Lian seen working on the deck of the yacht on which the family is huddled on as the search for young master Jun continues. Could she have given up hope already?]

[I would give up if I were her as well, it’s hopeless at this point.]

[She should hang in there, I heard that Yan Daya was recovered and she is currently in Fuxing hospital. Maybe CEO Jun will be found as well.]

[Wait, what!! Yan Daya was found, when?]

[I heard it too, the authorities and the Yan family are keeping it a secret for some reason.]

[Is she inheriting Jun investments? Someone just tell me that?]

[Maybe they have a reason why they are still searching. Could they have found proof of life from somewhere or did Yan Daya say something.]

[Do they finally know why Yan Daya was on his private plane?]

[She was hitching a ride, can’t someone hitch a ride on another person’s private plane? Why are you all intent on making it seem as if they were having an affair? Poverty has blinded your thoughts.]

[So how long do they plan to keep searching? Will they give up if they don’t find him or will this go on for eternity since they have the resources?]

[It’s time to call time of death on that search because as sad as it is Jun Muyang is dead and gone.]

[If he is truly dead, what are they going to bury, an empty coffin?]

If only they knew that the person they declared dead and gone was eating luxurious meals prepared by his wife and practicing how to dismantle objects with the laser in his new eye.

Ding!!! Congratulations host, you have leveled up.

Chi Lian was looking over the plans of a new delivery drone which had been completed by an engineer in her lab when that voice rung in her mind.

Her head popped up and she smiled, this plane crush and the royal wedding had played a big role in her level up. Now, she had just one more step to go and T4 would be green.

No more forced missions, just paparazzo work for points that would enable her to buy things in the mall.

"Sister-in-law, why are you suddenly smiling?" Cherry asked her.

She and Manchu were sunbathing on the deck of the yacht while Chi Lian worked. She was on the phone with the engineer and bear because the engineer was requesting for more funding and he had proved concept by successfully testing the drone.

"Mm, I have a good product in hand, that’s why. But, aren’t the two of you worried about the news helicopters taking pictures of you so relaxed in this situation?"

They were still pretending to be sad and searching for a beloved missing family member.

"Sister, if I am cooped up inside the yacht any longer I might go crazy. I need to see the sun or I will become as pale as a vampire." Cherry complained.

"What good product do you have?" Manchu asked her.

"Mm, it’s a smart delivery drone that can get your package to you in a few minutes or seconds depending on where you are." She answered. "This will revolutionize the delivery business."

"And probably put many people out of jobs, Sister-in-law I am one of those people who believes that technology should be put on a pause. We have taken it as far as it can go and we should wait for humans to catch up." Rize joined that ladies and slid her opinion into the conversation with ease.

She and Chi Rui had flown back quickly when they heard the news about Muyang’s plane crush.

Chi Lian wagged her finger left and right, disagreeing with Rize’s pinion. "My plan is not to replace delivery men it is to make the business more efficient. Besides, the price for receiving a package using a delivery drone will be significantly higher than using a human delivery man. Not everyone will be able to afford it and only those whose pockets run deep will employ this kind of service. In an empire of close to three billion, users of this kind of drone will not be more that one hundred million or less. In addition, the drone needs to be monitored by someone, maintained and produced and that is also job creation."

"The advance of technology is inevitable Rize, trying to stop it is like trying to stop the flow of time. Humans will always seek out the simplest way of doing this which is why technology cannot die away. It will continue to thrive until all these fictional things in movies like flying cars and what not are a reality." Another voice joined the conversation, the old master.

"But think about the negative side of all these advancements grandpa, we can now destroy another empire with the push of a button that launches missiles. We can blow up buildings with a remote trigger from a distance away. We can solicit murder with one phone call, people are conned everyday through voice phishing scams. Others are stalked and killed because they post their movements on social media daily. Do the pros of advancing technology outweigh the cons?" Rize stuck to her opinion.

Chi Lian had a water gun by her side which she little monk had been playing with and she squirted some water on Rize using it.

While the other glared at her and cleaned herself with Manchu’s towel, Chi Lian told her,

"Get off your high horse, you work on a television as talk show host because someone created a television. Do you want to tell me that before technology and the internet bad things did not happen because we can pull out the history books right now."

"Wars between empires were fought with spears, axes, swords and other weapons. Entire cities were burned to the ground with people locked inside." the old master added on to Chi Lian’s point.

"That’s not the point I am making." Rize said with a sense of urgency in her voice. "You all don’t understand what I mean. I am going to get a cocktail."

"I don’t think she understands her point either." the old master said. "Chi-Chi dear, do you have any updates on the true location of the real island we must find?

"Yes I do." she told the old master. She had been withholding the information because Muyang was still in recovery but now that he was fully recovered, they could complete their business and return home.

"Your business too, you have a new mission host." T4 told her.
