Chapter 520: My grandson is jealous

Chapter 520: My grandson is jealous

The fact that Mei-Mei was not making a fuss even though she was being carried by a stranger made Chi Lian realize that as her daughter grew up, she would have to have many conversations about stranger danger.

The old madam and her husband were struck first by the level of familiarity this strange woman was exhibiting. Then her accent also stunned them, the way she greeted them in their language was so ....off key the old madam thought. There was a specific twang to her pronunciation. If Ringo was here he would remind his grandmother that she too sounded off key when she spoke the English language.

"Welcome to our home." The old madam responded to Mrs. Smith. "We are happy to meet you, I am Ran and this is my husband Mr. Jun Mengzi."

The Smiths came forward and introduced themselves politely before taking a seat.

"We are sorry if we are suddenly imposing on you, my wife is very good friends with your daughter-in-law Lian, she has been looking forward to this trip very much." Mr. Smith spoke quite fast, a few words rolled off his tongue speedily that the old madam missed them. She looked at her husband and he smiled at her reassuringly.

"We were made aware of your visit and we have been looking forward to your arrival. I personally so much so because I enjoy meeting prominent business men from other continents. I am impressed with what you have done, its not easy owning or running a fortune five hundred company."

Mr. Smith laughed and leaned back in the chair, "Frankly speaking, I am thinking about retiring, I am just about ready to turn in my closed shoes and suits for sandals and shorts."

The old master laughed along with Mr. Smith as if they had known each other for a long time. The two men were getting along comfortably. Mrs. Smith was unveiling all the gifts she brought for Mei-Mei, handing the little girl one doll after another.

"Thank you for the gifts." Chi Lian called a maid and asked her to take most of them away, leaving only the ones Mei-Mei was determined to hold on to.

"I like her," Mrs. Smith commented on Mei-Mei’s attitude to hold on to the dolls she wanted. "She has the attitude of a winner, maybe she should join some pageants. I have a friend that is just starting her own company, they make soft comfortable children’s diapers and she has been looking for a toddler to be the face of her brand."

Chi Lian looked skeptical, she did not want Mei-Mei’s face out there in public. "I don’t want that for her," she told Mrs. Smith, "I don’t really like exposing her face to the public. Truthfully, I worry that it might endanger her life given who her father is. Every time she goes out and I am not there I worry that she will be kidnapped."

"But you can’t keep her locked away in a bubble forever." Mrs. Smith commented. "Oh, I brought a suit for your little man."

Finally, Mrs. Smith paid little monk some attention. "It’s a custom made Italian Armani suit, I got one in every color."

"Wooooow," Chi Lian reacted in genuine shock. Even she had not gone that far. "Thank you." she said unsurely.

"I am dying to see what he looks like, can he try one on please?" Mrs. Smith looked at Chi Lian with pleading eyes.

"Sure," she replied and right there, a maid changed little monk into the black and white suit. If his hair was properly combed and dress shoes were added, he would exactly like his father. Chi Lian took a picture and she sent it to all the family members.

["My handsome little man."]

Mrs. Smith was so excited and she clapped, "Tell me this is not perfection, your children have star potential Lian, they could be the perfect child models."

The old madam and Rose joined the women, all of them were cooing over little monk’s adorableness.

"Little monk, is going to be a lady killer when he grows up." the old madam commented and Chi Lian laughed. Someday her little man would break the hearts of a few girls. It was inevitable, he was just too good looking.

"My genes are just awesome." Chi Lian bragged.

"I think you mean my genes." Muyang had returned and he joined them in the living room.

Before Chi Lian could reply, the old master intervened and he called Muyang to meet Mr. Smith. "He built a fortune five hundred company up from the ground."

Mr. Smith was looking at Muyang eagerly, he extended his hand and grasped Muyang’s own hand firmly. "I have heard so much about you Mr. Jun, it’s so impressive what you have done at your age."

Muyang always remained humble in the face of all praise, he rarely talked about his accomplishments business wise or how much wealth he had. It was something that set him apart from young men in his generation. His aloofness drew other’s to him because they believed him to be wiser than his age.

"I have heard so much about you too." he told Mr. Smith.

"My God!!, I didn’t think we would ever cross paths. I tried to set up a meeting with your company a few years ago when I was considering moving into the Asian film distribution market. I was told that you were the man to set me on the right direction but sadly I never got the chance to do so."

"If you are still considering doing business my door is wide open Mr. Smith. There are many opportunities right here in our empire, we can set up an official appointment....." his words broke off because he noticed Ian’s hand on Chi Lian’s shoulders. "I am sorry, please excuse me for a small moment."

"What happened?" Mr. Smith asked.

"I apologize, my grandson is very much in love with his wife. He does not like it when another man is breathing within five inches of her personal space."

Mr. Smith shrugged, "I can understand him, when I was young I got into quite a few bar fights with men that simply so much as looked at my wife with lustful eyes. She is the most breathtaking woman I have ever met, just look at her, she has not aged a day since I first met her."

The old master was simply glad that Mr. Smith did not take offense to Muyang’s abrupt behavior.

After Muyang stood up, he approached Chi Lian and Ian who were giggling because she was using an app to put cat ears, dog ears and other funny little additions on some of little monk’s pictures.

"Honey," he tapped her shoulder, sneakily pushing Ian’s hand away. "We are supposed to take cat burglar and Blackguard on a walk. Do you want to go now?"

Chi Lian extended her head towards Muyang and mumbled to him, "Honey we kind of have guests."

"Don’t mind us, go take a walk with your hunky husband. I have Mei-Mei to entertain me." Mrs. Smith said to them.

’Does she have the hearing ability of a bat?’ Chi Lian thought to herself.

"We will do that." Muyang eagerly took his wife’s hand and hurried to escort her outside the house.

"Do they realize that they have forgotten the pets?" The old master asked his wife.

"I will take them." Rose volunteered.

"Take a jacket, go with a maid and a guard. You must return home in one hour." The old madam laid out instructions.

"Be a gentleman Ian, escort the young lady." Mrs. Smith suggested. A few times, she had looked at Rose with questions in her eyes and curiosity which no one was eager to satisfy.

Rose blushed, and the old madam laughed.
