Chapter 511: Sweet girl!!
After having a long talk with her father and meeting her brother Chi Wei, Chi Lian briefly checked on the animals especially Apple and little apple before heading home.
Muyang was waiting for her outside the house, pacing back and forth slowly while he looked at the time. When she saw him, she wondered how long he had been out here. Blackguard’s puppies were rotating around Muyang’s legs playfully, nipping at his trousers playfully. No matter how many times he shooed them away, they kept coming back. Cat burglar or T4’s fox robot butler was sleeping next to Blackguard and both of them were acting as if the commotion of the puppies was none of their business.
She stepped out of the car and as soon as he saw her, Muyang stopped pacing. He walked to her but Blackguard beat him in speed, launching himself at Chi Lian.
"Woof woof," he barked.
"I know." she replied, "It was not a place I could take you to. But I brought you some snacks my good buddy, including those little biscuits you love so much."
She took a packet of universal pet food from her system and the puppies came running. "Blackguard take them all inside and I will give you three packets."
He did as she said and Chi Lian could finally hug her husband that was eagerly waiting to embrace her.
"Wife." Muyang said as he swung her around. "You said two days, it has been three."
"I run into some unforeseen circumstances and returned with a big haul. Hubby you will not believe what it is when I tell you. In fact you will need to see this big haul with your very own eyes."
"Heyyyyy," Muyang said as he helped her inside the house, "It must be something great for you to be this excited. There are only five things in this world that make you this happy. Me, the children, our family, money and treasures."
"You have not mentioned food or the pets." she reminded him. "Good food should be number five. Money and treasures are all the same."
"Chi-Chi," the old madam said loudly with so much excitement in her voice, "My dearest."
Chi Lian shook her shoulders and called childishly, "Grandmother."
"My darling baby," the old madam shook her shoulders exactly like Chi Lian. "You have to stop going away for these business trips. Send your subordinates."
"I missed you grandmother." the two hugged, one young one speaking childishly and one older one looking at her adorably.
"I was so bored Chi-Chi, your grandfather has continuously gone to supervise your building in the cold town leaving me all alone. I have been so lonely, Cherry goes out at six in the morning and returns close to nine or ten at night. The children can’t discuss dramas with me like you do." the old madam went on and complained about everyone, leaving no one out.
"I am back grandma, I just had to go out and check out something. But I encountered some good fortune...." Chi Lian was still explaining when a bunch of little feet came running, screaming for her at the tops of their voices.
"Mummy," Little monk reached her first, launching himself at her like a rocket being launched into the sky.
"Mummy, Mei-Mei is here." her daughter would not lose out to her brother. She jumped slowly and attached herself to Chi Lian’s left leg.
She carried them both, and laughed, "Be careful." she urged. "Mummy is not going anywhere. She brought very pretty jewelry, do you want to see?" Both children were half dressed, she guessed that they had probably been about to receive their bath when someone told them that she was back.
"Bring them some clothes." she told the closest maid.
"Auntie, welcome back home." Rose came after the twins, moving gracefully as the old madam and He Weili were teaching her.
"Thank you beautiful Rose. Have all of you been behaving?"
Rose nodded and she smiled shyly.
Chi Lian turned the children around and they saw old tiger and Spider bringing in the chests. She felt no need to hide them since her plan was to sell them back to the royal family or ask for something else. Like a large piece of land on one side of the lake. These things were a part of the history of the empire and keeping them just to stare at them alone would be greedy of her.
"What is all this?" the old madam asked her. She pulled Chi Lian and the children to sit down. For the first time, little monk refused to give up a spot on her lap to his sister. An episode of push and pull ensued, with each child wanting to sit specifically on her right hand side.
"No fighting." she warned them.
Mei-Mei looked at her father with teary eyes and she burst into a loud pitched wail, prompting Muyang to carry her.
"Once upon a time she would fight me for her father and today she is fighting her brother for me." Chi Lian said in wonder. She out grew that stage sooner that I expected. "Muyang, here give her this." she gave Muyang a strawberry lollipop from the virtual farm. Wanting to be fair, she gave little monk and Rose one too. "Grandmother do you want one too?"
The old madam shook her head, "I am too old to eat a sweet that requires a stick for holding. You can give me some lemon drops later, and lozenges, the orange ones you gave me last time."
"Do you have a cough again grandma?" Chi Lian looked at the old madam carefully.
"No," the old madam smiled, she looked a tad bit embarrassed. "I just love the taste."
"Okay." Chi Lian nodded. The lozenges were harmless as long as the old madam did not take them excessively. She had hundreds of them in her virtual storage just sitting there.
Mei-Mei who had stopped crying when she received a lollipop left Muyang’s lap and took her curious body over to the closest chest. "Mummy, vroom vroom?" she pointed.
"No baby, no vroom vroom, this is very expensive wood." Chi Lian shook her head.
"Oh, my father bought them rocking wooden horses two days ago so everything that is made out of wood has become something she can ride or forcibly try to rock." Muyang explained their daughter’s actions to her.
Chi Lian nodded in understanding, honestly she was just happy that Muyang’s father could pay attention to the children now. He was so awkward around them in the beginning.
"Can we open the chests now?" the old madam was too curious to know.
Chi Lian waved old tiger over and he opened all the chests, exposing their contents to the eyes of everyone in the living room. "Grandmother, you will never guess who owned these things?"
They had not been arranged as she found them, one chest had been arranged to hold all the crowns and jewelries which were shining, showing off their exquisiteness.
"Mother," Mei-Mei called with a smile, showing off what she was holding in her grubby hands.
"Good Lord!" the old madam gasped at the crown in Mei-Mei’s hands. "Sweet girl, please put that down."
