Transmigration: Lady Chi Woos The Ice cold Professor Jun -
Chapter 43: Shopping
Chapter 43: Shopping
The words he said were ringing like bells over and over in her head. "Because she is yours, because she is yours, because_"
Did this mean he now invested in starting a serious relationship with her? Had he even considered the repercussions of such a momentous decision? He would be legally responsible for Mei-Mei and she would be entitled to a portion of his wealth. What would happen if his family found out!
What about her family? Would they be onboard if she said yes?
This was a real conundrum.
"But your daughter will have a father, isn’t that what’s most important?" T4 decided to remind her of the most aspect of this offer.
And indeed, he was right. Jun Muyang was offering to be her daughter’s safety net. What possibly could go wrong?
Hesitantly, she asked, "Can I think about it? I need my family to weigh in for clarity, I can’t make this decision just basing on how I feel about you."
He appeared to be a little disappointed but he was a man who based his decisions on logic so he could understand her hesitation.
"I understand why you are hesitant, but don’t take too long thinking about it because my family is already here and grandpa cannot wait to meet her."
Her eyes widened in shock. Why was the Jun family moving so fast?
"What if they find out that you lied about the test and she is not your daughter? What if they try to take her away from me? What am I going to do?" she fired her questions rapidly like a machine gun firing bullets.
He simply held her hand and looked into panicked eyes, "Calm down." He said.
"I promised you that I would be Mei-Mei’s umbrella so you should never worry about them taking her from you or find out that I am not her biological father. I won’t let it happen. To show my seriousness I prepared this document. "
He handed her a folder which showed that Mei-Mei was getting five percent of the shares in Jun investments.
Her jaw almost dropped to the ground.
"I will never treat her as an outsider and as her mother you get to hold the shares for her until she comes of age."
The sincerity in his eyes was genuine. And for her, that settled her decision.
She started wooing him with hopes of a relationship, this would serve to bring them closer and it would be good for her daughter as well.
"I agree, but first my family has to be on board with it."
His gorgeous smile was the only answer she needed.
"I guess this makes the three of us family." He lifted Mei-Mei out off of her laps and moved her to his. "You know, she does have my eyes." He commented.
"I noticed that too, maybe you were meant to be father and daughter after all."
He pinched the little girl’s chin softly and observed her face. There was something familiar about it but he could not place it.
"I should probably buy her something. What do fathers buy for their daughters?"
"Umm, dresses or dolls, I am not sure."
Her father died early in her last life and in this one Chi Lian was already an adult so she could not wheedle and sit in his laps. The only gift she had received from Papa Chi in this life was his love and support. For her who was an orphan before coming to this world, that was more than enough.
Jun Muyang pulled out his phone and checked the internet for gifts fathers buy for their daughters.
"But does this mean she can come over to your pace anytime she likes?"
He frowned a little bit as he thought about her question. What would happen to his white furniture and spotless house? He looked at the little girl that was fidgeting with a candy wrapper. Every time he saw her, she was eating something.
But he was the one who asked to be her father. Perhaps he could give a little leeway.
"Under supervision," He said through gritted teeth and Chi Lian laughed.
It was close to two months since she met him and already he had come far from where he started.
The car stopped and they arrived at a large shopping mall, he carried Mei-Mei out of the car which allowed her to freely observe her environment.
A team of four bodyguards, a nanny, and Wenzhe followed behind them orderly.
The mall was full of shoppers and window shoppers depending on the shop one chose to enter. Everywhere they passed, people turned to stare, a handsome man, a beautiful woman and an adorable daughter. They were truly a sight to behold.
"Why are we here?" she asked curiously. He had said they were going to eat and this was not a restaurant or hotel.
"Shopping."
"Who is shopping?"
"Our daughter," his long legs strode forward like an elegant gazelle leaving her behind to scurry after them in her black heels.
He led them into one of the luxury children’s shops and three assistants rushed to assist them. Judging from their dressing and entourage, it was quite obvious that they were financially well off.
Quickly, the assistants allocated seats to them in the VIP section and complimentary glasses of champagne were provided. Mei-Mei was given an assortment of cookies and milk.
"Show us all your trending clothes for my daughter." Jun Muyang ordered authoritatively.
Chi Lian was quick to roll her eyes. Mei-Mei had gone from our daughter to my daughter really quickly. She didn’t know if she should be happy or jealous.
This man had kissed her but never even sent her one flower. Not even a seed of a flower. Mei-Mei was his daughter for less than an hour and he was already spending thousands.
How ironic!
One after another clothes were presented and he made choices.
The manager of the store personally came to serve this money god that had visited their store and was throwing money at them.
After selecting a large volume of clothes, Wenzhe presented his black card for swiping. The manager was trembling as she took it.
Who was this big shot in their store? She looked at Chi Lian enviously.
’My sister, you are really lucky. Please share your luck. Which deity did you pray to for such a man?’ Her eyes seemed to convey envy and questions.
From that store, they visited another, and another. It’s like Jun Muyang’s money was desperately begging to be spent.
He even took them to a jewelry store where he chose a pair of metallic hair pins designed like chop sticks but filled with diamonds on the outside. They cost one million. She watched as the pins were placed in Mei-Mei’s hair immediately.
"Why do you look so pained? Do you want hair pins as well?"
"They are expensive. " She told him.
"I know but she calls me daddy so she deserves the best." he grinned. " You know, if you call me daddy, I will get you something better." He said cockily.
"Humph." She pouted and her eyes went back to Mei-Mei as he laughed at her.
Her daughter was now walking around with a one million Yuan head. Every time the girl jumped up in excitement, Chi Lian’s heart trembled with fear that the pins would fall.
"She needs a watch as well." Jun Muyang and Wenzhe were getting all these necessities from the internet.
"Enough!" Chi Lian had finally had enough. "No more shopping, we are getting something to eat or I go home alone and leave you to your shopping."
"Mummy pwitty." Mei-Mei pointed to the glowing black and white baby shoes in the store next door.
"After getting those shoes." She faked a cough in embarrassment.
