Chapter 404: Buying King

"Everyone step away, give him some room to breathe." Chi Lian shouted, very loudly. The second she was told that King was trying to get to her she hurried over to him. The horse was probably looking for the woman with the treats.

When she arrived, she found over fifteen people surrounding the horse and each of them was louder than the other. They were making it nervous and it was trying to get away from them. She did the one thing that came to her mind, she shouted very loudly and some eyes turned in her direction.

"It’s the woman that was riding the horse."

"She has told us to step away."

"Is she a trainer, what does she know? Everyone just grab onto the reins tightly?"

Seeing that some trainers wanted to be stubborn about it, she just pushed her way through them easily and approached the horse.

"Hey boy." she said, "Do you want some treats?" She fed him one small treat, then another and another. Pretty soon, half of the packet was gone.

The trainer who had told others to hold the reins tightly tried to shove her away. There was desperation, anger and some disapproval in his eyes. "We can take it from here." he said.

She shoved him back and said, "When did you become the owner of this horse? I don’t see your name tattooed on his body."

How dare he try to shove her?

"I am a professional trainer, the horse is under my care." he replied.

"And so what? I am a professional rider and the horse happens to like me." she replied with her gaze equally challenging as his. "I found him alone in a stall, there was no hay or water and he was untended to. If you are such a professional trainer then why haven’t you been tending to him? You just want to swoop in and claim some credit now that you see how magnificent he is. Since you want attention so badly, why don’t you try climbing on his back and riding him?"

She stepped aside and gave him a gap to climb onto King’s back. She hated people like this the most, they were like vultures that preyed on others. They wanted to claim credit for work they did not do.

Everyone knew that this horse was crazy so nobody expected the trainer to get on.

Someone whispered to him, "Hey, she is Jun Muyang’s wife, if you don’t stop here things might become bigger."

The trainer stared at her viciously and he replied, "I work here, you are just a visitor. When you are gone, I will still have access to the horse." He stormed off angrily.

Chi Lian mumbled, "Not on my watch." She went looking for Muyang who was chatting with the old madam. The children had also finished their riding lessons and they were with her husband.

King trotted behind her, pushing his head into her purse whenever he had a chance.

"Muyang, I want to buy this horse." she declared with determination. "There is a bad man will probably mistreat him if he stays here."

Muyang looked at the horse and then at her. "I knew this would happen." he said. "Are you trying to build an animal farm?"

"Muyang, he can be Apple’s husband in future. As her owner I have the burden of finding her a husband that is just as magnificent as she is the same way I found myself a magnificent husband."

There was a small smile on Muyang’s face. Next to him, Ringo made a gagging expression by sticking two of his fingers down his throat.

"Chi-Chi, I can buy it for you as a wedding present." the old madam offered.

But of course, Muyang who had just been called a magnificent husband would not stand by and not display his magnificence. "Grandmother, I will buy it for my wife."

The manager of the horse racing track was close enough to listen to this conversation. He wanted to step in and stop them but he knew who Jun Muyang was. This made the elderly woman next to him the matriarch of the Jun family and the crazy horse rider his wife.

He knew that money would not be an obstacle if they decided to purchase this horse but he was quite unwilling to let it go. The horse was still useful to the track for breeding purposes. For this reason he clenched his fists and walked to them.

"Young master Jun, Madam, young lady, it’s so good to see you here. I am Gun Pyo, the manager of the horse racing track and the stables.

"Yes, thank you for coming over, we want to buy this horse." the old madam replied.

The manager bent his body slightly to appear humble. "Madam, the horse is not owned by us. The owner is out of reach at the moment maybe you can leave a number and we can get back to you in future."

"Out of reach my ass!" Chi Lian responded. She had already heard the whispers about the horse belonging to the emperor and how it had been placed here because of it’s unruly nature.

"Chi-Chi dear language please." the old madam told her.

"Sorry grandma." she apologized.

"Mummy said bad word." Mei-Mei giggled.

She shook her head in denial. "Mummy said no such thing."

The manager did not give up. "Miss, I think it will be best if we return the horse to the stables. I think it has been outside for too long and it’s actions are always unpredictable. We don’t want you to get hurt."

"I trust King, he would not hurt me." she replied and she gently caressed it’s head. "Muyang," she called and smiled.

"I will make the call." Muyang said.

The manager cursed in his heart because it was game over for him. He had been secretly selling this horse’s sperm for very high prices to other horse farms in the capital. Was this the end of it all?

As a last attempt, he reached for the reins and the horse neighed fiercely, almost kicking him.

Thirty minutes later, the manager watched unwillingly as his golden goose the untamable horse was loaded up and taken away.

Chi Lian was walking away with a sway in her steps when T4 informed her about something that stopped her cold.
