Chapter 370: Cockroach
Chapter 370: Cockroach
Grandma Wang was impressed with all of bear’s qualifications that she requested for her to find time and tutor Wang Tong who was also studying at Crown University.
"Sister bear, if you are tutoring people I am also requesting to be added to the list. I will be going back to school after the winter break and I am already struggling." Chi Zimo squeezed himself into the conversation.
"Aren’t you majoring in computer engineering, why do you want lessons in business?" his grandfather asked.
"I will work in sister’s tech company in future it’s the best place for me to become a game developer." Chi Zimo replied cheerfully.
"Whose idea was this?" Chi Lian asked Chi Zimo whose face was brightly lit as he imagined his future in the gaming business world.
"It’s Code," Chi Zimo answered then he covered his mouth as if he had blurted out a big secret.
The only Code she knew was the one who worked for her in the tech company. He was supposed to start university with Chi Zimo but she had not yet had the opportunity to meet him. Where had the two boys crossed paths?
"When did you two start communicating?" She was really curious to know.
"Sis, have you not heard about the wonderful place called the internet? He befriended me on weibo because we had mutual friends like you and Kiki. The two of us have been playing the game, ’king of glory’ as a duo. He is an expert at handling guns and killing monsters. We have planned to meet in real life very soon."
"That kid has successfully recruited him." Bear mumbled. "By the way boss who is the big guy in the corner?"
Bear’s voice was loud enough to get everyone to bend or crane their neck to catch a glimpse of the big guy in the corner.
Zhangye could feel all of their curious eyes on him but he pretended that he was not seeing them.
"Who is that fellow?" grandpa Wang whispered to Chi Lian. "Is he another one of them?" his finger pointed at bear.
The ’them’ in question was old tiger and all of her other people.
"Grandpa that’s Jang Zhangye, he is an expert martial artist that I have been trying to recruit as little monk’s bodyguard. I am about to have a discussion with him and see if he is willing to get on board."
Grandpa Wang stepped out from behind his wife’s wheel chair and he observed this Jang Zhangye carefully. He had the build of someone who regularly worked out because of those bulging muscles. But could he fight?
Some people could be bulky without any skills.
"Mr. Zhangye you don’t mind if I test out your skills before my granddaughter decides to entice you with a ridiculous amount of money, right?"
Zhangye yawned as if he was extremely bored and he said, "I don’t fight senior citizens not even retired former army commanders."
Grandpa Wang reacted as if being called a senior citizen was an insult; his upper lip was twitching as if it was being electrocuted.
"You, did you just call me old?" Grandpa Wang questioned Zhangye.
"Is there a lie in my words, grandpa you are indeed a senior citizen. If I dare to lay a hand on you my own grandfather might return to life a few seconds just to beat me up."
"Who said that you are going to fight me?" grandpa Wang asked, still very much unhappy, "Caizu come inside." He shouted.
Caizu and Zhangye would be properly matched in a fight. In fact grandpa believed that Caizu could take down Zhangye.
"Let’s see how good you are." Grandpa Wang spoke in a boastful voice like a child who was challenging a friend in a ’mine is better than yours’ contest.
Zhangye and Caizu sized each other up the way opponents do before a fighting match with each trying to gage the strength of the other.
Chi Lian and Chi Zimo cheered before the fight even started. "Who do you think is going to win the fight?" Chi Zimo asked his sister.
"Five yuan on Caizu." Bear said.
"Five on Zhangye." Chi Lian replied confidently.
"No fighting in the house." Grandma An said sternly, "If you are going to fight, go and do it in the gym like everyone else does. And it’s time for lunch; we will not be waiting for any of you before we start eating."
Chi Zimo the foodie lost interest in the fight and he left for the dining room. Chi Lian looked at her daughter who was dosing off and she too decided to leave for the dining room.
"Bear, will you be joining us for lunch?" Grandma An politely asked Bear who was picking up her bag as if she was preparing to leave.
"Thank you but I am afraid I will have to turn you down today, I landed in the country today and I have a lot of unpacking to do. Boss, I will be at the company early in the morning tomorrow, there is no pressure for you to come in but there are changes I need to make in some areas and most of them will need your approval."
"I will be there." Chi Lian assured her. "I have to make sure that you sign an employment contract before other companies catch wind of your presence and try to steal you away from me."
Bear laughed and said, "I am never going anywhere, you have the only thing I want most in the world."
Her words stunned Chi Lian. The thing bear wanted most in the world, what could it possibly be?
"What?" Chi Lian asked curiously.
"I will tell you in future." Bear laughed.
She left but Chi Lian’s mind continued spinning with thoughts about what bear wanted the most in the world.
"Host, sometimes you are really dumb and I feel ashamed to be your pet. How am I supposed to face other pet systems with an owner like you?" T4 lamented.
"If you insult me one more time, I will make you a cockroach."
"A cockroach can’t be a pet!!!!!" T4 screeched.
"Says who?" she retorted.
"Says the rules of the pet system, you can’t take a cockroach on a walk." He replied smugly. "All pets must be animals or birds which can be taken on a walk."
She scoffed and muted him.
