Chapter 239: Your business is our business

At the airport, when they finally landed, Chi Lian put the two children in a double stroller and gave it to Muyang to push as they went through the private exit.

Her head was bowed down with all of her concentration on her phone as she walked. This was because after ’exercising’ with Muyang, T4 told her that the Hian’s husband extra marital affair scandal had caught fire once more.

When she checked her phone, she was surprised to see that Hian’s husband had given an interview to STV’s daily entertainment program and made a few accusations and revelations of his own.

Her first thought was ’dang it’ someone beat me to the scoop. What were her people doing when STV scored that interview? The best way to turn things around was for Hian to appear on Phoenix TV. She had reached out to Hian as the peep star but the actress was yet to get back to her.

Was she in hiding because of the scandal?

Live on television, Hian’s husband Kevin Jones had made the wildest accusation against his wife, claiming that the child Hian had birthed was not his.

He went on to say that Hian was a gold digger who trapped him in marriage with the pregnancy after finding out about his family wealth.

He claimed that she had run away from their marital home after her lies were discovered and that they had not been together for a month now. Apparently, she did not want him to do a DNA test on the child which is why she run.

Everything that came out of Kevin’s mouth was ’Hian is bad and I am the wronged husband’.

It was amazing to see how quickly people switched sides whenever a situation changed. Because of Kevin’s accusations, People were basically slandering Hian and calling her all sorts of ugly names online.

Even her former entertainment company was not spared because Kevin claimed that they knew about Hian’s ugly character and covered up for her because she was one of their golden geese.

To add spice to the scandal, Kevin offered a reward of one million dollars to anybody that could provide useful information on the whereabouts of Hian that led to her discovery.

No wonder everyone was going crazy online and the scandal was suddenly trending at number one, everyone wanted that cash prize. Chi Lian could bet that the number which the station and Kevin offered was already being bombarded with calls of people who claimed to have seen Hian.

This random cash prize was making people insane, just reading the comments alone made her shiver.

[One million dollars, here I come.]

[Nobody get in my way I am taking the one million dollars by force.]

[Dead or alive, I am bringing Hian in. One million dollars in exchange for a prostituting woman is easy money.]

[Does anybody know where Hian’s ex manager lives; I just want to talk to her for a minute.]

[Who wants to find Hian’s family members I know where they live. I provide the information and we split the money.]

[All I want is some of her hair, if somebody finds her please shave her head and sell her hair to me.]

[I will offer two million dollars to have her to myself.]

[Five million dollars to have her delivered to my basement.]

Chi Lian was wondering what the officials were waiting for to scrub these comments and hunt these people down. It was not funny; odds were that one or two of them were actually really serious about kidnapping Hian.

Now that Hian had no manager or PR team to look out for her, nobody seemed to care. Hian’s fans that tried to defend her were quickly shut down by the hundreds of anti fans.

In a way, Chi Lian had contributed to all this so she felt like she was partly responsible for the outcomes. She felt the need to try and look more into the situation before it went out of hand. Before she personally found evidence of Hian’s bad character, she was reserving her judgement.

"T4, wipe all the disgusting comments and report their accounts." She said in disgust.

"Yes host."

"And track down Hian. Start by tracking down her friends, manager and family. From there find anything small that could lead to her whereabouts."

All her attention was on the phone that someone almost bumped into her. Muyang had to pull her to his side swiftly to prevent her from falling.

"Be careful." He told her with a frown on his face. He looked at her stunned face and then his eyes moved down to her feet. "Are you hurt?"

She shook her head to mean no.

"Put your phone away, what are you looking at with so much focus?" he asked her as he resumed pushing the trolley.

"It’s the Hian scandal, did you know that her husband was caught having an affair and now he is claiming that that she was leading an immoral life and her child is not even his. He is looking for her because he wants to do a DNA test. He has even put up a one million dollar reward for information leading to her capture." She narrated enthusiastically.

"Tsk, tsk, everyone’s attention is on the money that they did not notice he revealed nothing about his own affair. I think he is telling lies."

She grabbed Muyang’s hand and looked at him with her eyes squinted. "What do you think? Is he the wronged husband or the lying husband?"

Muyang rolled his eyes and kept walking. He was not interested in such petty gossip.

"Yang-Yang," she tugged at his jacket persistently. "You promised never to ignore me." She said with a pout.

"I am not ignoring you; I just have no opinion on the issue. And please don’t call me that ridiculous name in public." He complained with a frown.

The kind of scandal she wanted him to discuss was the type of gossip he usually overheard his students talking about in hallways. It always irked him that rather than pay attention in the classroom, they chose to fill their minds with such garbage.

’You follow the peep star; you look at such garbage too.’ That little unwanted judgmental voice in his head whispered.

"Muyang, do you think he did something to his wife and he is now pretending that she run away. One million dollars is a lot of money to put up as a reward unless you are desperate or sure of yourself." Chi Lian continued pressing him for his opinion.

"Why do you care?" after sighing in an ’I give up voice,’ he asked her this question.

"Because," she groaned, "STV scored an interview with the husband which is making my competitive senses itch. They are my competitors you know. I am sure all the other media houses are running around to find Hian and interview her first. I am among them; her side of the story is my business."

"Hmph," Muyang scoffed and laughed at her explanation.

"I am telling you Muyang, in the media and entertainment industry there is no such thing as privacy. Your business is our business." she said righteously as her defense for being too invested in the scandal.
