Chapter 235: A close call.

Piggy and Squirrel watched in fear as the car they had been sitting in a few seconds ago rolled over and was crushed completely, squeezed and banged up. Truly if they had been inside when that happened, there would be nothing left of them for any doctor to heal. Not even their bones could be put together again.

"Shit!! What the hell was that?" Squirrel shouted as he run his hands through his hair. "Did someone just try to pummel us to death?"

"These people are so heartless," Piggy answered him. "They could not even spare a child." He was doing his best to calm Fu Jui down. The little boy had been crying loudly ever since the moment he was ruthlessly pulled out of the car and then almost fallen to the ground. On top of that, he had just witnessed himself narrowly escaping death.

If the adults were frightened out of their minds, how could the young one not be worse than them?

"What should we do?" Squirrel looked at Piggy after all, in terms of seniority in the group, he was the elder.

"I am not sure, I know the police are going to be called but I don’t want to risk Fu Jui going to a police station." Piggy just wanted to get out of here as soon as possible.

Around them, people were gathering in crowds, so many were curious and others looking at them with pity or wonder. The driver of the truck came down from his car, staggering around as if he had been injured or he was drunk.

"That’s him, the one who almost killed these people. Don’t let him escape." Someone said.

"The police is already on the way." Another person said.

Chi Lian was also watching everything that was happening. She wanted to tell Piggy and Square to get out of there just in case these men had another plan or decided to their dirty work personally and finish them off. But she could not get into contact with them because their phones had been left behind in the car when they were rushing to save their lives.

"T4, can’t you hack any of the phones of the people at the accident site?"

"To do what host?" the system inquired.

"Just hack a phone and patch me through or get me a number, I will talk to the person." She answered with determination.

T4 accessed whatever it was he usually accessed that she barely understood and finally accessed one phone that belonged to a woman that owned a grocery store in the nearby shops along the road.

The woman was part of the gawking crowd. She was standing there with a phone in her hands and talking randomly to the other spectators.

After securing her phone number, Chi Lian called the woman’s phone immediately.

"Hello," the woman tentatively answered. Perhaps her reaction was because she was getting a call from an unknown number.

Using a voice modulator to sound like a machine, Chi Lian said, "Don’t ask any questions and listen to me. I am willing to pay you fifty thousand Yuan right now if you give your phone to the man carrying the child. The man that was in the car that has been crushed, I don’t have time to waste so I am sending twenty thousand right now. If you accept it, deliver the phone to him and I will send you the balance after." Chi Lian said all this without pausing and when she hung up, T4 wired the money to the woman.

"What kind of con artist is this?" the woman asked herself when she hung up.

Just then, she saw an alert saying that twenty thousand had been wired to her account.

"Aaaaaah," she squealed excitedly. This was no con artist, whoever this was, he or she had sent the money just as promised. She realized that she could earn fifty thousand Yuan easily without working for it.

She rushed to Piggy without a second thought and handed him her phone. "Sir, someone wants to talk to you."

The woman was desperately saying in her mind, "Please accept the phone, I have thirty thousand yuan left to make."

Piggy was hesitant but he took the phone anyway. "Hello," he said slowly.

"Piggy, it’s me Chi Lian, listen to me right now. Those men are still watching the scene of the accident and I don’t know if they are planning something else. If you look just ahead of you there is a deluxe taxi that seems to be looking for customers. Get in and have the driver send you to the Phoenix building immediately."

Piggy was so happy to hear the boss’s voice. He was even surprised to see how much control she had over the situation, how was she keeping an eye on everything from wherever she was?

Did she hire someone to protect them in the dark because she was worried about them? The boss was really wonderful to them.

His imagination was working in overdrive at the moment.

"Stop wasting time and move." Chi Lian shouted at him.

"Boss, what about the police?" he asked.

This was the scene of an accident; they could not just up and leave casually as they wanted.

"The car is registered in my names, once the police investigates I am sure that they will come looking for me for answers. At that time, you can simply tell them there was an emergency to handle so you could not sit around. Right now, it’s more urgent for you to get out of there."

"Yes boss." He answered like a soldier.

He hung up and gave the woman her phone. "Thank you." He said with a slight nod of his head.

"Squirrel, let’s go, boss has said those rats are still watching us."

Without asking any other questions, Squirrel hopped up and the two of them made their way to the deluxe taxi just as Chi Lian said and swiftly, they were driven away from the area.

The woman whose phone they used received her balance and she smiled broadly. "People should have more accidents around here if such things follow." She thought.

But then a thought crossed her mind, how did the caller know her bank account to directly wire her the money in the first place?

She was not the only one with questions. The spectators and those who had come to help the people had almost died were wondering why the ones they wanted to help were running away before talking to the police or going to the hospital.

As for the ones who arranged the accident, they were on the phone explaining their failure to their immediate boss. They were confused about why the targets had jumped out of the car at the last moment. Had someone from their group blabbed?

They would never know that a tiny drone, as tiny as a fly was following their every move and recording their every word.
