Chapter 213: False news travels fast
"Anyway," the doctor continued loudly, eager to escape from this room because something was always going on when he came to examine that patient which ate up his time. This family always seemed to forget his presence. "As I was saying, while he is healthy enough to go home, please manage his diet strictly, even though he is two years old, it’s now obvious that he has not been introduced to many solid foods and he eats very little. We are sending you home with appetite boosters and you are required to come back after one month for an evaluation."
"Yes doctor." Muyang answered since Chi Lian was still wiping her eyes and little monk’s as a result of the crying.
The doctor exited the room and Muyang started packing up. The old master peeped outside and called Mei-Mei’s nanny and Qi Qing inside to assist in the packing up of all their personal property.
Chi Lian went down to the parking lot first with little monk and Mei-Mei in her arms.
Muyang watched helplessly as he was left behind without as much as a goodbye. "Grandfather, I will go with Chi-Chi and make sure they arrive safely."
"To do what?" the old master pulled him back before he could exit the room, "All you are going to do is upset little monk and make him cry again. It’s best for you to stay here and leave with me and your grandmother."
"I won’t do anything." He promised.
"I don’t trust you, for all I know you will try to take little monk’s mother or his toy away from him. You don’t know how to share things with your son." The old master insistently refused.
"But little monk’s mother is my fiancé." Muyang was completely puzzled, wasn’t Chi Lian his betrothed why did it sound like little monk had more rights to her than he did? Couldn’t they all share her equally?
"Little monk and Mei-Mei need her more than you do right now, in fact you should start sleeping at home from now on. Little monk needs special care and nurturing, the bond between mother and child needs to grow." His grandmother added more on his grandfather’s words.
"Are you the same people who previously wanted me to spend every waking hour with Chi Lian? You didn’t complain about all the nights I was spending in the Chi house previously." Muyang asked with a betrayed look on his face.
"That was before we discovered the other twin. Muyang, you should not be a beast, are you trying to get Chi Lian pregnant again so soon? The twins are not even in school yet?" His grandfather replied in absolute condemnation.
If Muyang could faint, his body would have already hit the floor. How could they change their tone so quickly? Where was all this concern when it was just Mei-Mei? Did they think he did not know about the tonics? It was them that were eager to see Chi Lian swollen with child again.
He was not staying away from his family, in fact it was time they lived on their own. Perhaps it was time to think about getting a marriage license first.
"Grandfather, I am not staying away from my family. In fact, I am going to get a house for the four of us to live together." He said with determination.
"You brat!!!" his grandfather shouted angrily, "Don’t even think about taking our great grandbabies away."
After saying that, he evaded his grandfather as if they were in a wrestling match and he run out of the room as fast as he could.
Wenzhe who saw this unusual sight prayed that none of the employees would see it otherwise the CEO would lose face completely, moreover, when the big boss run, the sidekicks had to do the same.
And this was the abnormal scene people in the hospital saw, a group of men in suits running out of the hospital quickly after a tall handsome man as if their tails were on fire. Curiosity could not help but make its way through the hospital population. Why did the people from the VIP floor run out of the hospital?
Some nosy nurses and doctors went as far as exploring every inch of the VIP floor like detectives to find clues.
One lucky young patient did snap a picture quickly and post it asking, [Isn’t this Prof.Jun?]
This patient was a university student who attended Muyang’s economics class the previous year. Professor Jun Muyang was always calm and composed so he could not be certain that it was him running like that, however, the picture said otherwise.
At first, the post went by ignored, zero likes and zero comments.
’Could I be wrong?’ the student wondered, ’Maybe I should just delete the picture to avoid embarrassment.’ He thought to himself.
Just when he moved his finger to delete the post, there was a like on the post.
"Oh, someone liked it." He said cheerfully, his heart fluttered like the wings of a butterfly.
One like became two, then three and then fifty in a short period of time. The boy wanted to jump up and jubilate. His eyes did not deceive him; it was really Professor Jun Muyang running out of the hospital like that.
The comments came rolling in too.
["Why was Jun Muyang in the hospital?"]
["Poster, why was he running like that? Was someone chasing him?"]
["Was anybody else in the hospital with him, like his parents, grandparents or his fiancée and daughter?"]
Even gossip blogs joined in on the questioning. When the young man replied, "I saw two old people following out shortly after that but they used the private elevator and bodyguards were surrounding them. I did get close enough to hear a director in the hospital call someone ’Old Jun and say the words sick.’]
With that confirmation, the story took on a life of its own. Suddenly a headline reading, "The patriarch of the Jun family was admitted to the hospital, he is on his death bed," started trending.
In the car heading to the emperor’s court, the old master’s assistant showed him the headline and he started cursing furiously. When did any of these people see him on his death bed? Did they know that the stock price of the Jun Corporation would be affected by such false news?
"Sue them, sue them all." He ordered his assistant.
"Yes sir." The assistant contacted the public relations team and the legal team of the Jun Corporation.
"Who started this stupid rumor?’ the old master asked his assistant because his phone kept ringing. Concerned friends and family members had seen the article.
"I believe it was the post of the picture of the young master running out of the hospital earlier that started the issue. People assumed he was running because you are critically ill and there is going to be a fight for ownership of the corporation." The assistant explained.
"What, why do people have such wild imaginations, Muyang has a very successful company on his own, when did he start needing to fight his father for ownership of the company?
"Sir, the share price of Kite air has started falling." His assistant told him.
Kite air was the Jun family airline and it was worth hundreds of billions of Yuan. It was their biggest income earner in fact.
"Fix this now, stop the fake news from spreading now." the old master shouted loudly and kicked the seat in front of him vigorously.
"Honey." The old madam touched his arm. "Isn’t it gossip, fight gossip with gossip? We have a bigger bone for them to chew on." She suggested calmly.
"You mean we should release news about little monk?" the old master asked her.
"No, just release pictures of Chi-Chi carrying the two babies in the hospital; blur the faces of the babies and release that anonymously." She answered him in a tone that suggested this problem was too simple.
