Chapter 212: Little monk one, Muyang Zero
Three days of hospitalization had quickly elapsed, if everything went well, today was the day that the little monk would be leaving the hospital.
At the moment, the doctor was conducting his last exam while the parents and grandparents watched him in absolute silence with hope to receive an all clear.
As soon as the doctor finished the last check, he signed some papers which the nurse handed to him, and then he looked at Muyang and Chi Lian and said, "You can take him home now. The little man is one hundred percent recovered."
"Yes." Chi Lian happily said and folded her two fists in a victory move. "Baby, did you hear that, you are finally going home."
Little monk who she was speaking to was thoroughly enthralled with the toddler sized Rubik’s cube which she gave him as her first gift to him two nights ago. T4 had encouraged her to get him the Rubik’s cube with puzzles because his mind was very active. It needed constant stimulation for proper nurturing. The Rubik’s cube from the system mall had cost her one million points, it was used as a mental strength training object in T4’s world. Every morning, the Rubik’s cube would reset as long as the puzzle had not yet been completed. If that puzzle was completed then a new one would appear.
In T4’s world, the Rubik’s cube was called the dimensional puzzle box and Muyang was just as enthralled with the Rubik’s cube as much as his son. When little monk noticed that his father was always eyeing his toy greedily, he always looked at Chi Lian aggrievedly and blinked pitifully. Immediately, Chi Lian would tug on Muyang’s ear and warn him which made little monk smile. This new father-son battle had been going on ever since the Rubik’s cube appeared and it was not about to end any time soon.
Because little monk’s hands were still small, he could not complete the puzzles quickly and the medicine also made him drowsy so he was sleeping a lot. This always gave Muyang a chance to play with the cube however each time the owner woke up, he would complain by throwing a pillow or something on the floor.
Little monk was learning how to express his emotions and throw tantrums from Mei-Mei his younger sister.
After the initial meeting, she quickly became attached to him, following him everywhere with her eyes and wanting to be in the same place with him. Mei-Mei was just like her father, also greedy for the new toy. Each time she asked for it, little monk helplessly surrendered and allowed her to play with it until she got bored and moved on. The older brother was already learning to indulge his younger sister. Maybe it was because Mei-Mei cried each time she did not get her way.
Like right now, apart from Chi Lian little monk rarely allowed people to sleep in the same bed with him however Mei-Mei was the exception. At the moment, the little girl was spread out widely in the bed, drooling and smiling hopelessly in her sleep. Chi Lian could already see the old madam planning etiquette classes for Mei-Mei as soon as possible.
"Baby, "Chi Lian called him again and touched his head tenderly, "Put the cube away for a while; you can play with it again when we reach home. Don’t you want to see the other cool toys mummy has prepared for you? She asked.
Little monk looked at her with questions in his eyes; he was torn between putting down his cube and wanting to see what else his mother had in store for him.
Reluctantly, he surrendered his cube into his mother’s waiting hands.
"Such a good baby!." Chi Lian praised him and kissed him on the cheek.
"Give it to me; I will keep it for him." Muyang eagerly came forward, wanting to grab the cube from Chi Lian’s hands.
Little monk quickly covered it with his small hand and glared at Muyang with eyes as similarly cold and as his.
"I am just trying to keep it safe for you, why are you safe guarding against me as if I am a thief? I am your father you little brat." Muyang complained unhappily while looking at his son.
Little monk gave him an ’I dare you to take it look.’
Muyang retaliated with an ’I am stronger than you so try and stop me look.’ Along with that look, Muyang smirked.
Both of them hand their hands on the cube, not willing to let go of it. Since Muyang was older, if he used more energy, he would certainly take it. Little monk could feel it too in that insistent tug which he couldn’t fight.
Suddenly, he opened his mouth and cried so pitifully that Chi Lian pushed Muyang’s hand away and carried her son.
Little Monk’s voice was hoarse and rough; Chi Lian could not help but wonder if his voice box was damaged. When he cried in that lab did anyone carry him and comfort him or did they just let him sit for hours in misery?
She could picture it in her mind, her baby pitifully crying with no one helping him until he instinctually learned how to self soothe because no one was coming to his aid. Because of that picture in her head, she started crying too. All the tears she had been holding back for days came pouring out like a river.
Then Mei-Mei woke up and started crying as well for no reason.
With three people in the room crying, everyone else was confused. Just what was going on?
The old master picked up Mei-Mei and soothed her, putting her back to sleep within a short period of time.
"Muyang are you child? Why are you fighting for a toy with your son?" the old madam asked in a puzzled voice. She was even looking at Muyang as if he was the most ridiculous and unserious father in the world.
"But...." Muyang wanted to explain.
’No buts." The old madam cut him off. "From now on, you are not allowed to touch that rainbow colored toy."
Muyang was really torn between defending himself and explaining that this was not a children’s toy. Was he the only one who could tell that this was no ordinary toy?
