Chapter 210: Sister meets brother

Little monk looked at his father unhappily with a slight pout on his face.

To Chi Lian this look meant ’So you are the reason why I ended up in that lab. ’ She sent up a prayer for Muyang in her heart.

"Eh, why are you calling him little monk?" the old master asked her.

"It’s his father that gave him the name, he said we can call him that for now since he is as bald as a monk." She answered.

The old master giggled and looked away from his great grandson so that the little boy would not see him laughing.

The doctor returned together with other members of the family except for those who stayed with the old madam.

"Eh, sister, he is really bald!" Chi Zimo exclaimed. He sneakily took a picture of his nephew with a smile. "He is so adorable sister."

"Should I cut off your hair and see how adorable you look?" Mama Chi asked him.

Chi Zimo stepped away from his mother and hid behind Chi Wei. His hair was his pride, it was thick and lustrous, and all his friends envied him for its good quality. Nobody was touching his glorious hair.

The Chi family members gawked at the little boy as if he was a zoo animal out on exhibition. The little boy finally looked away from them and closed his eyes.

Chi Lian could only assume that all that staring was making her son uncomfortable.

"Stop staring at him like that." She told them.

"We are just looking, what’s the harm?" Chi Zimo grumbled.

"Would you like it if someone stared at you as if you were an animal on display for everyone? He may not be saying anything but I think he may be uncomfortable." She spoke to her brother critically but softly. She too had stared at him for a while so she could not blame him too much for doing the same.

"Sister, I asked the nanny to bring Mei-Mei, they are downstairs. Should she bring her up?" Chi Rui asked her. "I figured you would want both of your children in your eyesight."

She smiled and nodded, "Thank you brother." Honestly, after finding little monk, she had barely thought about Mei-Mei in the chaos, confusion and anxiety.

Meanwhile, Mama Chi was examining little monk’s feet like a doctor. The actual doctor who had been doing that had been pushed aside.

He was looking at Mama Chi in absolute shock and unhappiness. Who was the doctor between them, him or her?

Mother, shouldn’t you let the doctor do that? Chi Lian wanted to ask. But her mother would probably glare at her with that I know better than you look she often gave her when it came to the care of Mei-Mei.

"I think we should buy some ointment for his feet, I know a good one. I noticed that his feet are slightly swollen, they are probably painful too. We should get him some numbing cream and pain killers." Mama Chi suggested.

The doctor folded his arms across his chest and frowned. Was prescribing medicine his duty or hers?

Papa Chi quickly came and tugged his wife away when he saw the doctor frowning.

"What, stop pulling me like that." She complained but her husband refused to let go.

The doctor stepped forward and resumed his examination of the feet just as he had been doing before Mama Chi rudely took over.

"The nurse will come by with numbing cream which will be applied to his feet three times a day. I suggest you don’t attempt to force him to walk in the meantime. I have been told that he was kidnapped as a baby and it’s the reason for his injuries.

I think you should put him in diapers; children who have been abused tend to bed wet in the formative years of their lives because of fear and nightmares. I also think you should allow him to be examined by a child psychologist. I am not an expert in that field but I think it might be of help to him."

After saying that, the doctor brought a small torch and checked little monk’s eyes.

"He showed signs of slight jaundice earlier, that’s why we are putting him on medication for now. If it doesn’t go away in the next three days, we will need to put him under phototherapy and treat him using the blue light. It would have been better if we were not in winter; you could just take him out in the early morning sun."

"Doctor, uhm, is that jaundice dangerous, wont it affect his health?" the old master asked with worry all over his face.

"No, he will be fine, like I said it’s a slight or minor issue. The little man will be fine within three days at most. We will probably discharge him then. But you should get him something to eat, we wanted to examine the contents of his stomach but it doesn’t look like he has had anything to eat in the last few hours. As you know, children at this age must eat every two to three hours."

With that said, the doctor left the room, not forgetting to frown in Mama Chi’s direction just before he left. He was the type of person who held grudges for long periods of time.

"We should go home and prepare some good food for him; I will personally do the cooking." Mama Chi and Papa Chi left the room.

Chi Lian looked at her son and asked, "Baby are you hungry?"

Little monk looked at her for a while before nodding his head once. She got a small yoghurt from her bag to feed him for a while.

Chi Wei came in with Mei-Mei and placed her on the bed. Mei-Mei looked at the baby in front of her, looked at her father and suddenly burst into a very loud high pitched wail.

"Eh, Mei-Mei, why are you crying. What happened?" The old master quickly picked his granddaughter up but the little girl insisted on going to Muyang.

"What is wrong with her?" Muyang carried her but kept looking at Chi Lian.

"T4, what is wrong with her?" Chi Lian also deferred the question to someone else. She did not have the answer.

"Maybe she in shock, after all, they look alike. Physically I see nothing wrong with her." T4 gave her his possible suspicion. He also had no clue as to why Mei-Mei was crying. "Anyway host, very many people online are calling for you to explain why there is an explosion in the capital.
