Chapter 151: Mama my diamonds!!!
Chapter 151: Mama my diamonds!!!
It was becoming a trend for all sorts of paparazzo’s to challenge the peep star in one way or the other. She did not always take the bait because it was assured that they were using her to score easy and cheap popularity but trying to use her identity as the peep star to humiliate herself was a joke. She would dig up more scandals exposed by Call me Ai and see if they were fabricated or not.
"Chi-Chi, stop staring at your phone and bid Minister Su goodbye." Her mother pinched her waist softly to get her attention.
"En." She replied absentmindedly. Putting her phone back into her pocket, she looked at the minister and asked, "Where are my diamonds?"
Minister Su craftily looked away from her.
"Ha-ha," she laughed dryly, "You don’t really think I can possibly forget my property right?"
"The diamonds were confiscated as part of an ongoing investigation_" he said.
"Ongoing investigation my ass! I want my property or I am going to publicize the capture of the shifter. I am sure whoever sent him thinks he died at the hands of the second shooter but we both know better. You probably used those capsules I gave you to save his life and you are on an information extraction mission now. Diamonds or headlines choose your battle."
Since she had not received any benefits out of him today, she was going to make sure she didn’t make any losses either.
"Miss Chi_" Minister Su said her name through gritted teeth.
"Minister Su_" she said his name seriously.
Their eyes were clashing in challenge, none giving the other a chance to assert dominance over them.
"Minister Su, I am sorry about my daughter." Mama Chi pulled her away apologetically from the minister." Our Chi-Chi can be strong willed but she does not mean any harm." She said nervously.
"Mama, not now, I am taking care of business." She said carelessly. Do they know how hard she worked to make the money for those diamonds? If they would not return her diamonds she needed another form of compensation.
"What business?" Mama Chi spanked her ass. "You want to become a trouble maker like Zimo."
"Mama," she complained. "The diamonds are mine, if the military claims them, I will not be compensated."
"Your mother-in-law said you can keep the ones she gave you. Good girl, let’s not delay the minister from leaving to carry out his duties." She forcefully pulled Chi Lian away. "Minister Su, thank you for everything, you can be on your way now." she shouted from a distance. Her foolish daughter did not know how much Minister Su was feared and respected in the empire otherwise she would not be haggling with him as if they were at the same level.
"Mama, my diamonds," Chi Lian cried as she watched minister Su and his men leave. If her mother were not holding on to her like glue, she would run after them.
"It is your honor that your diamonds will contribute to the military budget of the empire. Now stop fake crying, we have a lot to do. Don’t worry I will cook your favorite food tonight." Mama Chi consoled her.
Into the house they went, happy to see familiar faces waiting for them.
"Qi Qing, nanny, everyone is here." She waved at them with a broad smile, "How is the environment here?"
"It’s very good my lady, thank you for allowing me to bring my mother along with us." Qi Qing responded to Chi Lian enthusiastically. "My lady, I am sure the little miss is going to love it here."
All the employees had arrived the day before to clean the house and take care of the most urgent tasks. It had been the old madam’s suggestion. According to her experience cleaning, unpacking and arranging a house within one day was a momentous task so accomplishing it all on assigned days was better.
The house had been cleaned yesterday, today they would unpack and most decorating would be done tomorrow. There was no arduous task waiting to be fulfilled.
This gave Chi Lian the opportunity to throw herself onto the fluffy white couch and groan.
"My lady." Qi Qing called.
"I am going to close my eyes for a while Qi Qing, tap me when there is food to eat."
After a tour of the three story mansion, mama Chi came down to the living room to find Chi Lian lightly snoring with her head face down in a couch. "Oh this child." She said dotingly.
She looked at the maids who were moving things and said, "Be quiet, don’t wake her up."

Meanwhile, on the Eastern side of the Emperor’s courts, in the Jun ancestral family home, a different battle was ongoing. Chairman Jun, who was not aware that Chi Lian and her family would be moving to the Emperor’s courts, was making endless phone calls to get them thrown out.
In his mind, Muyang would marry the perfect woman only if Chi Lian was out of his life for good. However, no matter how many calls he made, he received the same answer; the order had come from the top.
"Is he still at it?" the old madam asked the butler.
"Yes madam that is the tenth call to the royal office of housing I presume." The butler replied. "The chairman has simply refused to grow up." He sighed.
"Where is my great granddaughter?" the old madam asked. "I brought her some apples from that organic fruit store during my walk."
The butler smiled widely, "I believe the little miss is in the drawing room with her dogs. The last time I saw them they were covered in ink and making a mess in there. That was after they ate half of the cookies in the jar in the kitchen and broke the old master’s new ceramic vase."
The butler was smiling as he talked about the mess Mei-Mei, Blackguard and Cooper had caused. His smile was that of a doting grandfather thinking about a beloved granddaughter.
"Oh, that naughty great granddaughter of mine." The old madam shook her head dotingly. "I hope the vase did not hurt her."
"No old madam, the maids got rid of the broken shards immediately. It’s so good to have the little miss here Old madam, the house is now full of life. Even the young masters are returning."
Shortly after the butler said that, a loud giggle was heard coming from the hallway and a crash followed it.
The butler though old, was quite energetic and he made his way to the crush site hurriedly praying that the little miss was not hurt. He found her on the floor; dress bundled up with a few shards of broken glass around her.
"Maids." He shouted immediately and he extracted her carefully from the floor. "Who left a glass of water on this table?" he asked sternly. What kind of person left out a glass knowing that there was a toddler in the house?
"Is Mei-Mei hurt?" the old madam asked worriedly. "Someone call the doctor." She said anxiously.
The old madam worriedly took Mei-Mei from the butler and looked over her. "Baby, where does it hurt?" she asked.
She returned to the living room and settled Mei-Mei on her laps. Perhaps all the fussing finally got to the little girl and she finally let out a pitiful wail.
The family doctor who was not far, came and carefully checked the toddler under the watchful eye of the butler and the old madam.
"Old madam, I think she is okay. She is just stunned." The doctor said after careful examination.
"Thank God." The old madam said with relief. She looked at the maids angrily and said sternly, "I want the person who left that glass in the hall way now. And from now on, everyone in this house uses plastic glasses."
