After more rounds of congratulations, hugs and back rubs from her family, Scarlet turned back and returned to her private dwelling to arrange some things around before Jelly could come and interview her.

The Su siblings had work to do and so most of them went to their workplaces. Gregor and Halley went to one of the snack factories with Mega. It was a career week in all schools around the empire so attendance was optional. Most children only went on the day the career they held an interest in was touched.

Fey was very quick about it and five minutes later, Jelly and three of her colleagues were in the living room setting up their drones and looking for the best angles.

Scarlet calmly sat down in a soft white one seater sofa and waited for the cue to begin which came very soon and she put a smile on her face.

Across from her, reporter Jelly took a deep breath and smiled. The interview was live and it was the first exclusive interview of any reporter with the governor, ever.

Jelly had a microphone in her ear through which Mr. Rodney was giving her instructions.

"Smile and greet her." she was told.

Jelly smiled and said, "Good morning governor Scarlet, it is a pleasure to see you in person today."

Scarlet, holding her smile replied, "Hello miss Jelly. It’s a pleasure to see you too."

"I will begin by complimenting your dress, wow, you look amazing as always." Jelly gushed.

Scarlet laughed and acted coy, covering her mouth. "Thank you. You don’t look so shabby yourself."

Jelly knew that the governor was just being polite because she was dressed in an ordinary navy blue suit suit with a white shirt. She didn’t get an opportunity to change into something nicer because the interview was sudden.

"Before we can begin I would like to extend my genuine congratulations to you and a heartfelt thank you on behalf of the citizens everywhere. A cure for the darkness that even the medical board and association of interplanetary doctors approve of is a big deal. How do you feel knowing that you have saved and will be saving the lives of so many people?" Jelly extended her body forward, staring intensely at Scarlet.

Scarlet, of course chose to be composed and she answered, "I am proud of myself and my team. This achievement is not mine alone as you know I am not a medical doctor. At most I am a dabbler in the field of health and nutrition. So, every idea I get, I discuss with a team of doctors and experts that I trust and we go from there. There is still quite a long list of unknown illnesses in the database and we will continue to strive to find cures for as many as we can."

Because the interview was live, many people from around the empire were watching and her words evoked different reactions from them.

Many doctors felt proud because she included them in the discussion, giving them acclaim. Some even decided to take a look a look at the database and begin research experiments of their own.

There were some people who found Scarlet oddly humble. She had just contributed to one the biggest medical achievements in the history of the empire and she was so reserved.

Others found her arrogant. She was no doctor so why dabble in a field that was not her concern.

Some businessmen and women found her cunning. To them, she had done this for the money. It was not as if the cure would be given out for free.

Scarlet answered five more questions related to the cure and then Mr. Rodney told Jelly to move it along.

She looked at Scarlet and said, "Well, let’s move on to discuss the ruthless attack of general Sang on you. I broke the story myself and I must say that watching the video terrified me."

The video was played in slow motion, breaking down the movements of the general bit by bit.

Jelly looked into the camera and said, "For those of you who are not aware general Sang Soon is a large man. He is also a mecha warrior whose expertise is in the field of combat and aggressive take downs so this was blood chilling to see."

On the screen, they showed general Sang’s credentials and personal information, highlighting his weight and height. Also highlighted were achievements in combat competitions.

"I know that many of our viewers are interested in knowing what led to the altercation but I am more interested in knowing what was going through your mind when he grabbed your hair like that?"

The cameras blew up Scarlet’s face, bringing it much closer to the screen and focused on her eyes and the reactions of her face.

"I was terrified, but also calm. I don’t know if that makes much sense to anyone."

"Calm!" Jelly exclaimed.

Scarlet nodded and laughed softly. "I am the wife of a mecha warrior. The day I become afraid and cower like a coward is the day I bring shame to him. I am also the governor of the Blue star, and over here, bravery is our motto.

I foraged the dangerous forest on my own, ate foods that could have killed me and domesticated animals that were dangerous. General Sang’s physical stature does not frighten me. It was his intentions which caused my heart to drop a bit. He was planning to search my mind, forcefully."

Jelly gasped, and so did her colleagues.

"Did you just say forced mind search?" Jelly asked her when she regained her senses.

"Yes." Scarlet confirmed.

"Is he crazy? What a lunatic." she yelled.

The yell was quite unprofessional so she covered her mouth and whispered, "Cut, cut, cut."

"We are alive." Mr. Rodney said.

She touched the small microphone in her ears and squeezed her eyes tight. Then, she looked at the cameras and said, "I got carried away, I apologize. But those of you who are watching us from home must be as appalled as I am. Not only is a forced mind search illegal but it’s also dangerous."

She turned her head to Scarlet and asked, "What brought this on?"

"Easy, jealousy." Scarlet crossed her legs and folded her arms. "It is no secret that there is no love lost between my husband and general Sang Soon. When he walked into my office that morning he was planning to break me in one way or another. He admitted it himself before he attacked me. The minute I mentioned the cure for the darkness he just snapped and lunged at me like a maniac."

Jelly was confused, and so were the viewers.

"He really did that for those two reasons only? Does he not want the darkness to be cured?"

Scarlet shrugged. "I cannot begin to ponder his reasoning. Maybe he has been inflicted with the darkness as well."
