Chapter 542: Lord Justin Wu commands
"Open it," A child’s angry voice said.
The voice was that of young Justin Wu and the one he was ordering to open the door was none other Tion, Scarlet’s head guard. The little one’s face was red with fury, his fists were clenched and he had stomped his feet at least three times in the space of one minute.
His great grandparents who had followed him to Scarlet’s training room in the hope of dissuading him from attempting to go inside were very lost on how to handle the matter. Justin was determined to get in there whether anybody agreed with him or not.
"Baby.." Cecily squatted down and took Justin’s hand in attempt to soothe and appease him.
Justin refused to be soothed and his eyes welled up.
"She promised, mother promised me that she would never leave me behind. I am going inside to be with my mother." He said determinedly.
"Baby, she is just fighting in the virtual mecha games. She would have told us if she was going in for a long term training session. I promise..." Cecily paused and went around to the other side because Justin kept turning his head from side to side, refusing to look at her or anyone else for that matter. "Baby.."
"I want my mother. Tion Carlzon, I command you as Lord__, lord__, I..." Justin refused to listen to Cecily and tried to command Tion once more but his voice broke and his bottom lip wobbled. He started heaving and he stomped his right foot again.
Cecily and Etienne could feel the growing anger which would soon explode as a storm of tears.
Tion fell down to one knee and took Justin’s fist. Rather than treat him as a child like his great grandmother was doing, he preferred to talk to Justin like an adult. It was what he did with his son and Eden was understanding and realistic because of it.
"My Lord, your mother said she would be inside for two hours, maximum. She said that she has to prepare spaghetti and hotdogs for you tonight and that she will be reading you Hansel and Gretel before bed. Why don’t you trust in her words and wait. Two hours will elapse in..." Tion looked at his terminal and said, "five minutes. You can sit for five minutes and wait. If she does not come out, I will personally open the doors for you."
With a stern face which was not befitting of his young age, Justin looked at Tion with seriousness and said, "Five minutes."
"Yes, Lord Justin." Tion assured him.
Another guard quickly brought over a chair and Justin sat down opposite the door. He stood up, and pulled the chair closer to the door, dragging it loudly with all of his physical strength.
Cecily sighed temporarily and shook her head. Both she and Etienne had just this one grandchild and they dotted on him a lot. While they were happy that he was becoming more assertive with others, it seemed like his clinginess to his mother was a long way off from ending.
She took a few steps away and called Esong just in case Scarlet did not come out of that training room in five minutes. It would be very ugly; Justin would probably throw a tantrum and try to rip those doors open with his bare hands.
Because she didn’t want Justin to overhear her, she erected a sound barrier the minute Esong answered her call.
"Come home." She said, immediately.
On the other end of the call, Esong took two to five seconds to process what sounded like an order before replying. "Uh, grandma I am sure you know that something serious is going on where I am. I can’t just abandon my post..."
"Scarlet went into the training room again and she didn’t take Justin along as she apparently promised him." Cecily changed the voice call to a video one so that Esong could have a clear look at his pitiful son that looked like a small dog drowning in the rain with his head lowered.
"How long has she been in there?" he asked.
"Does it matter? Just come home now in case things go sideways. Short of drugging him with a gas and putting him to sleep, I don’t know what else we can do to calm him down. He just gave Tion orders Esong." She said in a wonder filled voice. "He commanded him to open the door. Your grandfather and I are very surprised. I don’t know if I should be impressed or scared."
"I am on my way." Esong told her.
"Hurry," Cecily told him urgently. The clock was counting down and of those five minutes, only three were remaining. She switched her terminal back to the live coverage of Scarlet’s fight which she hoped would come to an end soon.
In the virtual world, Dark hound that had stopped running looked like a sitting duck to the viewers both in the virtual world and at home. Why she wasn’t moving, most of them wondered. Was she going to surrender?
The question they had was the same one Doma had. The gigantic head of the mecha tilted a bit in confusion but snapped out of it quickly. It raised its arm which had its weapon and prepared to slice down and end the fight once and for all.
Suddenly, Dark hound opened her mouth and from the pit of her belly, flames came rushing out.
Initially, the flames did not appear to be special. It looked just like any other fire and Dark hound was not the first mecha to have the skill of flames. If she thought it would stop Doma, she was crazy because his armor was fire proof.
"Alas, the hound has probably lost her debut match...." one of the hounds begun to announce her loss before the battle could even end.
"Oh but wait, Doma is stumbling and running away from Dark hound in an unexpected move. What is going on in this battle? Is he copying her move from earlier?" The other host asked.
Confusion among the viewer’s everywhere took ahold as they failed to understand what it was that was causing hulking Doma to run from itty bitty Dark hound.
"I surrender." Doma announced.
Even his pilot captain Chin came crashing out of Doma’s back and he fell down to the ground, rolling around and screaming.
The shields were lowered and Captain Chin and Doma his mecha disappeared from the stage. He had logged out so quickly apparently, not even giving the hosts a chance to chance his victory.
The stage was elevated back up, returning to the center.
Scarlet jumped out of Dark hound and raised her hands up victoriously. She looked at the cameras and smirked before mouthing, "I win."
She made the peace sign, and then ejected herself from the virtual world. She had no time to stick around for festivities, Alex had informed her that Justin was waiting for her and he was on the brink of melting.
