Lanta was about to put a cookie in her mouth as she assumed that they had all moved on from her.

She put down the cookie and wiped her lips elegantly.

Scarlet saw the look of approval in Cecily and Emory’s eyes. Even her mother seemed to be impressed by this small act.

She snorted softly and rolled her eyes.

Next to her, and watching her closely, Esong squeezed her thigh lightly and her leg jerked like she was experiencing a muscle spasm.

She glared at him and warned him to behave with a fire in her eyes. His hand that squeezed her thigh was suspiciously too close to her lady parts.

"I was going to concur with lady Scarlet." Lanta said. "The deities are proud and greedy. They do not share their glory with anyone or anything else.

If you use pendants blessed by the monks and symbolic of faith in them for something else, they might do something else in anger. A God can bless but that same God can punish."

"You speak as if you have been around actual deities before." Markay told her. These were beings of myth for crying out loud.

Lanta smiled mysteriously and looked at Scarlet. They both knew more about Gods more than anyone here.

"Let’s just say that when you have traveled to as many worlds as I have, you will see many mysterious things." She answered.

"And why have you traveled to many worlds?" Esong asked her.

For all they knew, she could be a space pirate.

"My parents were diplomats." Lanta replied.

Esong opened his mouth to ask more and this time, it was Scarlet who squeezed his thigh to shut him up.

Then, she looked at her sister and said, "Caro, why not go with rings. Storage rings would be a much better option to a pendant. Just look around this table half of us are wearing some kind of ring."

It was true, everyone realized. Most of them were wearing a ring of some kind on their fingers.

Most of the rings were beautiful or eye catching, with additions of gems and intricate patterns.

"Mecha warriors have rings that function as weapons." Esong said upon coming to a realization that Scarlet was right.

The rings could be user for storage as well.

"Jewelry companies would jump on this. It could revolutionize the industry." Beord said.

"I like it better than the pendant idea." Elroy said.

Carolyn jumped up with a new resolve in her eyes. It was time to do some research.

"I am done, see you around. Thank you for breakfast. "

She walked rather quickly, almost running as she dashed out of the dining room.

She did not even turn back to look at a bewildered Markay who had been left behind or her frowning mother who thought she had left rather rudely.

"Soo, new subject. I have a hockey match tonight and as always, you are all invited. But no getting into arguments with the opposing team." Elroy pointed two fingers to his eyes and then to Scarlet.

He was referring to her specifically. She had a habit of going ape shit crazy when she attended his matches.

"It’s a team from the Green star. This is our home ground so how can we sit back and allow them to diss us?" Scarlet said passionately.

Elroy gave his sister a blank look and looked at her husband.

"She is out." He said.

"Try and stop her." Esong answered.

"I will be there, and you know who else will be there.." Beord said and chuckled.

"It’s getting old." Elroy answered him.

"Not to the fans it isn’t." Beord waved his phone around.

Cropped pictures of Elroy and Jacks were already trending before the match.

Fans were even betting if Jacks would show up tonight.

Scarlet too was already on her phone, laughing as she read the comments. Breakfast at this point was done and people were abandoning the table one at a time.

"Mommy can I go play now?" Justin asked her.

He was smiling, cute little nose pointing up as he requested this of her.

Scarlet smiled and pinched his nose lightly.

"Mmm, go with Coral." She told him.

He jumped down from the chair quickly and gave Halley and Gregor a thumbs up.

"Thank you for breakfast." He said.

His words were repeated by the other two and all three children raced away to play with the animals.

"I have to go to the hospital." She whispered to Esong.

He nodded and helped her up immediately.

"Thank you for breakfast." He faced the Su couple and said.

Scarlet did the same and they left the dining room.

"Wait up." Adler called out to them before they could disappear out of the door completely.

He and Arya caught up with them quickly, followed up by Beord and Lanta. As far as Scarlet could tell, only Fey and Lloyd were left behind.

"So, Arya, how was breakfast with the Su’s not as a family friend but a girlfriend?" Scarlet asked the woman who looked so relieved to be away from the table.

One would think that she had been held hostage there all this while.

"It was nerve wrecking." she answered.

Arya glared at Adler and punched him on the arm lightly. "I told him that we should ease into it but he insisted on doing the right thing."

"On a positive note, you don’t have to hide and sneak around anymore." Scarlet slipped her left hand into Esong’s right one and leaned into his body. "Isn’t it better when you can love your person out in the open?"

Arya blushed and shyly at the sky.

Adler boldly put his arm around her and smirked. "Well I like it." he declared.

"I like it too." Beord jumped in. He and Lanta were already holding hands.

Scarlet twisted her upper lip and gave Beord a curious look. "When will you stop teasing Elroy about his little accident?"

Beord chuckled, taking on the appearance of an older brother that loved torturing his younger brother.

"I will stop when he stops being so sensitive about it." he answered.

"Oh come on, you know that Elroy is sensitive about pretty much everything." Adler told him.

They bumped into a group of maids in the hallway carrying new sheets into the castle and then stepped aside and waited for the maids to pass by.

"What were you saying?" Beord asked Adler.

"That you should lay off Elroy for a while." Adler changed his words and said something else.

Beord scoffed and shook his head. "Stop defending the kid, he has been dishing out insults my way for years. I finally have a chance to do the same so I am taking it."

Scarlet strained her head and caught a glimpse of Lanta’s hair.

"Oy, Lanta, do you see how childish he is? Are you sure that you want to date my brother?"

Lanta was surprised that Scarlet was being civil with her. She wondered if it was genuine or not.

Either way, the two of them would be around each other a lot more often so she decided to go along with it.

"Don’t worry about me, I am old enough to look after this big baby. But if he gives me any trouble I will be sure to look for Elroy and get some dirt on him."

Rolling her head around, and in a sonorous voice, Scarlet said. "Oooh, you are in trouble."

The others laughed and the small group continued moving forward, laughing and talking.
