He stood up abruptly, pulling her up alongside himself.

"Let’s take a walk." He suggested.

"Hmm, out of nowhere." She said, surprised.

"Yeah, I want to take a walk with you. Justin is sleeping, the maids are watching over him and there are cameras in his room." He looked at her with a love filled gaze and a soft smile. "Come on my wife, let’s take a tour around those very big gardens in our castle."

She somewhat felt shy, under that amorous gaze of his. How could she say no when he looked at her like that?

"You are learning to weaponize that look against me, aren’t you?" She asked him.

He was using it more often than he needed to on her. It was as if he had suddenly discovered her yes button.

"Let’s go."

They left the castle arm in arm, taking their time and giggling silly even though they were not really talking about anything.

When they reached the gardens, they slowed down even more.

Smelling the flowers during the day was quite different from smelling them in the night. To Scarlet’s nose, they smelled better, more potent, some even sweeter.

"Why did you suddenly want to take a walk?" She asked him.

"Because I want us to do more things together besides just going on dates or cuddling up in the castle. Moreover, you love the moon so much and I wanted you to enjoy the view." He pointed up, showing her the round full moon.

She smiled at the moon and then looked at his face. He was looking up and from the angle where she was, she could only see the side of his handsome face.

"Good looking indeed." She whispered.

He heard the whisper and tilted his head to the side, looking at her with a smile on his face.

So do you finally have an answer to that question you had for me when I came here? Is my father the better looking Wu?"

It was on the tip of Scarlet’s tongue to say an honest yes. Emmett Wu was truly more good looking than his son. But Esong was her man, the one she loved. No other man would ever be more good looking than him.

"Of course not. You are the best looking Wu of them all. Besides, every time I meet your father things are sort of awkward so I have never truly observed him."

His father was the kind of man who was straight forward and not very talkative. The two of them barely had anything to talk about except for politics and Justin.

Scarlet was always glad to escape his company as quickly as she could when they met.

Esong chuckled and squeezed her waist. "What about that fly which has been buzzing around you?"

"Ramslin!" She exclaimed.

"That one." He said, with distaste. That no good actor who was surely up to no good.

"He doesn’t even come close." She assured him.

She even laughed and leaned her entire body against him.

He held her tighter and then pulled her to sit down on one of the benches in the garden.

The bench was in the middle of a field full of jasmines that smelled so lovely. Every time the wind blew by, the scent of the jasmines wafted upwards into their nostrils.

Esong lowered his head and sniffed Scarlet’s neck.

"You smell so good." He told her.

With an eyeroll, she laughed. "I think you mean the jasmines."

"No." He insisted, "It’s you, the flowers don’t even come close."

He leaned in even more, and laid his entire head down on her shoulder.

She watched the moon, while he watched her, mostly all he could see was her hair and chin.

How can a chin look so lovely? He asked himself. And her skin, does she take milk baths, how can it be so smooth?

Why is she so pretty? He asked himself.

Esong tickled her neck with his nose, breathing her in even deeper.

"That tickles." She moved her head slightly.

He pouted and gave her that love filled look.

"No." She said with a laugh. "Uh-uh, take back that look right now Esong Wu."

He was like a little kid trying to blackmail her into getting his way.

He groaned and grabbed her arm, putting his head back down on her shoulder.

"Mmm, have you seen this before?" She touched her bracelet terminal and revealed a video. It was the video of the vortex to the world where mutated beasts came from.

Esong’s face darkened and he raised his head up.

"Where did you get this?" he asked her with a seriousness in his voice.

"Somewhere, this place is right here on our planet. Let’s just say that someone told me about it." She told him.

Her mind whirled as she thought about his reaction and all possibilities for his reacting like this. He probably knew something about it.

Esong studied Scarlet’s face carefully but she had a neutral look on her face, giving away nothing.

"So you just happen to have another friend in the right position, huh." he inquired.

She shrugged, "What can I say, people like talking to me. Even the wind talks to me. It whispers the secrets of the earth and the seas. If you listen carefully, you might be able to hear it talking."

Esong rolled his eyes, he did not believe her at all. All the wind was doing was howling, nothing like talking. She had to be making moves similar to those of the empress, planting spies everywhere.

If she had one in the lunar federation then she had beaten the empress at the spying game.

He could not fathom how she had accomplished such a feat however or how they were communicating.

"Hold on, is it you that has been sharing videos?" He grabbed her hands hard.

He looked worried or angry and she could not fathom why. Was it illegal to share the video?

Scarlet nodded, not bothering to deny it.

Esong laughed softy and shook his head in disbelief. He knew that the special division of the mecha warriors association had been desperately trying to locate the source of the videos but they were unsuccessful.

The general belief was that a powerful organization was behind the posting of the videos. As it turns out, his wife was the so called private organization.

How was she hiding her location successfully?

How did she have spies everywhere?

What more secrets did she have?

Most importantly, who exactly had he married?

A number of questions run through his mind, each in desperate need of an answer.
