Governor Lancaster of the Grey star was a very shrewd and quick man. Having learned the new way of welcoming important guests to the planet from the way Scarlet welcomed the Xenoans and the empress, he did something similar.

When Scarlet and Esong appeared, they were welcomed by a greeting party and two little girls who were carrying flowers that were handed over to Scarlet and Esong. The little girls of course received hugs and looks of adoration. Governor Lancaster had even arranged for press to cover this visit and he treated it as if it was the beginning of a new trade relationship between their two stars or a political union.

Every move that was made here was photographed, recorded and shared with the citizens of the Sun star empire that were interested.

"Governor Scarlet," he approached her and shook her hand vigorously, "Thank you so much for coming, I am really enchanted to meet you. You are just as beautiful as they say." He was such a smooth talker, praising her without stumbling over his words in the least bit.

’Aah, this slimy bastard.’ Esong thought.

She smiled politely, happy to meet a fellow governor who was excited to meet her. This would be the beginning of an excellent working relationship, she could feel it.

Governor Lancaster added another hand to the one which was holding one of hers already and looked at her with excitement in his eyes, like a fan meeting an idol.

"I have been wanting to meet you for so long, you are really an impressive woman. What you have done on the Blue star is simply magnificent. You will go down in history as one of the most forethinking governors to ever live. I hope that the relationship between our stars will be one like that of a husband and wife."

Scarlet laughed at his words, finding them to be extremely funny and entertaining.

Esong frowned and took that as his cue to intervene. This Lancaster talked too much and he was way too interested in his wife. What did he mean by a relationship like that of a husband and wife? Did he want their planets to get married?

"Governor Lancaster, have you met our son?" He asked.

It was Scarlet’s turn to frown in confusion as she wondered why Governor Lancaster would meet their son. It was not like the man had ever visited the Bkue star even once.

But Governor Lancaster was quick on his feet and he was not thrown off by this question. "I don’t believe I have." He answered genuinely. "But I would be happy to meet him right now."

He bent down slightly and extended his hand to Justin and said.

"Hello, little man."

Justin, who was normally sharp, daring and outspoken reacted in a way his parents did not expect. He hid his face in Esong’s shoulders.

Scarlet laughed and Esong rubbed Justin’s head gently.

"I think he is being shy." Scarlet said. "He will be bothering you as soon as the shyness fades away. He will certainly be asking questions about your height."

She had not missed out on noticing how tall Governor Lancaster was, and maybe that was what frightened Justin.

She looked at Beord and Lancaster, the giant who had met an even taller giant. If Governor Lancaster was big, it would have been a case of a giant meeting a bigger giant.

"Is this the island I own?" She spread her hands out and asked.

"Part of it." Governor Lancaster quickly corrected her. Whatever she planned to do here, he had plans for most of the other land surrounding the area.

He could tell that development would be coming to the island, even the natives were very excited for what was coming. A few people had moved back to the island already in anticipation. The construction of buildings on the island had certainly created more jobs than anything else had done on the grey star in ages. Young men were particularly excited about it and some had even cancelled their plans of moving to the capital for now.

He led Scarlet on a tour of the area, explaining it’s ins and out. In the middle of his chatter, he stopped and said out of nowhere, "Thank you for the food which you sent us. It has come a very long way in supplementing the nutrient solutions. Almost everyone on our star can have two bowls of porridge daily."

She was happy to hear that they were not starving anymore, it was an accomplishment that made her particularly proud. At least cause of death being starvation would go down.

"I am happy to help, we still have a long way to go but this is a good start." she responded.

It was quite easy to aid the Grey star because it’s population was not very large.

"I look forward to assisting you in any way that I can. The Grey star will go all the way with you in the fight to end hunger on the Sun star. You lead, and I will follow faithfully. " he assured her.

Esong rolled his eyes and wondered how much more sweet talking this guy intended to do.

"Daddy, down." Justin whispered.

He put Justin down but held his hand so that the little one would not run off and cause his mother worry.

His father-in-law and Beord were taking pictures of everything that they saw just like tourists. But Esong wondered if there was anything here to see apart from the abnormally tall tree and the ocean.

Justin tripped over something and almost fell down to the ground. If Esong’s hold on him was not strong, he would definitely be in tears already.

"Be careful." he told him.

"Yes daddy." he answered.

Scarlet heard what Esong said, and she heard Justin’s answer which prompted her to look back curiously.

Esong shook his head, telling her not to worry with his gaze before she could ask what was wrong. She turned back and looked ahead, at the tall tree in whose direction she had deliberately led governor Lancaster.

"We have to stop here governor Lancaster, if we go closer then we might be stung by the flying insects which control the area."

He was referring to the bees, this she knew for sure and she had made preparations already.

"Everyone needs to wear this." She took a few protective clothing in the form of long white overalls. "We can smear this on our bodies and put these on. We all have helmets as well, it’s standard for everyone in the empire to own one."

Even little children owned helmets, they could be used for protection, communication, connection to the virtual world and many other reasons.

She was the most knowledgeable when it came to mutated beasts and plants, so , nobody questioned why she was asking them to dress up.

Everyone did as she said, including Justin and they went further on the island than any human of the grey star had ever gone in this area.
