Chapter 312: Amara was so dead!!

While Scarlet was perfectly okay ignoring Amara and simply letting her be until the rightful moment when the woman was evicted from the blue star, the other wasn’t. She was determined to get into the castle and see Adler, one way or another.

When the guard informed her that Amara was back, not even one minute later with a document granting her permission to the castle to investigate a supposed crime, she rotated her head from side to side, with a deeply irritated look on her face and a storm of fury in her rising in her chest.

Why couldn’t idiots keep still and stay far away from her? Was love and affection forcefully given?

"I am coming, keep her there." she told the guard.

The castle had three different entrances, one that was used for emergencies. A main one which was used by the governors, their family, royalty and special guests. The third entrance was the busiest because it was used by ordinary visitors, castle workers, children who visited the Maddox library and others that came to the castle for different reasons.

Amara must have assumed that she would be less scrutinized if she used this entrance rather than the main one as she used to do.

There was a bit of a distance from the main gates to the common gates, so, she got a bicycle from her storage space and sat on it. When she turned to go in the direction of that entrance, Esong shouted out, "Where are you going?"

"To start trouble." she answered.

He thought about her answer for a few seconds, shrugged and run after her.

She found Amara making a ruckus at the guard post and being forced back by three guards.

Some employees were deliberately standing or walking slowly just so that they could watch the drama and share it with their friends later. Some even had their phones in hand, recording all that was happening.

Scarlet wondered if Amara was crazy or simply dumb not to notice those who were recording because it was a safe bet that this affair would end up on star net or a television. In her opinion, both, and it would be a thing of embarrassment for the Leopold’s and the RGB.

"Miss, your access to the castle has been permanently revoked, what don’t you understand about this statement?"

"I came to investigate, did you not hear me? Are you deaf or stupid? Do you know what the RGB does? Should I spell out what those initials stand for?" Amara screeched like a harpy, at the top of her voice.

"What in the world is going on here?" Esong asked Scarlet.

She, who was still sitting on the bike, scoffed and answered, "This woman is obsessed with Adler and she keeps using her RGB status to haunt him everywhere like a dead virgin ghost."

Esong did not understand her reference, no matter how much his mind attempted to analyze and put it together. What he understood was that the woman was a nuisance.

"Where do I know her from?" he asked.

"She is a Leopold, the weapons manufacturing Leopold’s." Scarlet told him.

"Got it." he nodded slowly.

Of course he knew the Green star Leopold’s, theirs was a gigantic industry and he owned like five percent of their shares. The yearly dividends from them were quite fat.

He got a helmet from storage bracelet and said loudly through it, "This is your governor speaking, everyone who has no business at the gate should move along or prepare to be arrested."

There was a crowd of people at the gate, some were simply onlookers while others intended to visit the parts of the castle which were accessible to tourists.

A few feet shuffled, and the crowd was cut into half, and the castle workers too dispersed to do their work.

"If I see one terminal or phone out to record, I will ask the guards to detain you." Esong further warned those who were left.

The phones, terminals and drones for some, were put away quickly.

Esong put the helmet away and moved his hands, communicating with the guards using sign language. "Let her through." he said.

They stepped aside, and a smug Amara was allowed to enter the castle grounds.

"What are they doing?" Scarlet asked, in disbelief. That was not what she ordered.

"This can be handled in private, let’s not give the people something to discuss at their dinner tables." he whispered to her.

"Fine," she grumbled.

Amara, with a physical document in hand, approached them, holding it up. "Governors, good afternoon."

Scarlet was ready to start blasting her but Esong leaned towards her slowly, taking care not to tip her over since she was still sitting on that bicycle.

And then, he wrapped one of his arms around her and rubbed the part of her arm which he could reach.

"Or not," he whispered to Scarlet, why waste an opportunity to teach an RGB officer a thing or two about the law they loved to throw around so much. He looked at Amara and said, "It would be a better afternoon if you did not grace us with your unwelcome and rude presence." he answered.

Amara froze, clearly, she did not Esong to be so direct and outright rude without a care in the world if those who were passing by heard them.

"I came to investigate." she said with a forced smile on her face.

"Are you stup__," Scarlet blurted.

"My wife means is that do you have no sense as to how things work? Esong gently pressed Scarlet’s shoulder and cut her off.

"What?" Amara asked.

Her eyes blinked a dozen times as she internalized what was happening. She was sure that the female governor meant to call her stupid.

"If a crime is committed in the residence of a governor, whether RGB, mecha warriors or GBCS and any other organ of state must first call and ask the governor for explicit permission to access the residence. Did you make a call?"

Scarlet smiled tauntingly at Amara, Esong’s way of handling things was really much better than hers.

"I_, I.." Amara stumbled.

"I will take that as a no." Esong said, coldly but calmly. "So, how can we be certain that you are not the criminal here?"

"What, no, you are mistaken.." Amara tried to explain.

"About what?" Esong questioned her sternly. "You claim to be here as an investigator but you have no permission to investigate. In addition to your lack of common sense which I am going to do you a favor by educating you, only the captain of the RGB can investigate a case related to the governor or a governor’s residence, not an officer like yourself and certainly not on her own without a team."

Amara was panicking, and Scarlet could see it in the way her eyes kept shifting. "I..I.."

"Right or wrong?" Esong raised his voice, barking sternly as if he was commanding one of his men in training.

"It’s, I, it’s.." Amara stammered over her words, and started moving backwards.

"Do you hear me officer, right or wrong?" he questioned her, very loudly that his voice was heard by almost all the people in line at the gate.

It’s authoritativeness, reminded those who had forgotten of his position and his strength, mentally and physically.

There was a mother waiting in the line with a child, and the child was so scared that she started to cry.

"She’s so dead." someone whispered.
