Chapter 251: Chapter 250: Staying in the apartment for days
If the people the boy encountered were ruthless enough, his life would surely be gone.
Luciel didn’t know who had raised the kid, but it was obvious that they hadn’t taught the boy how to be wary of people to save his life.
It had already been many months since the start of the apocalypse, but the boy still didn’t have the wariness he needed to survive.
"I-I’m not alone from the beginning, but the people who stayed with me don’t want to stay anymore. They left after the earthquake.
They were afraid that the building would collapse, so they left."
"And they took most of your supplies?"
"Y-yes," the boy answered with his head lowered.
Well, what happened to the boy could really be easily guessed.
The boy could even be said to be lucky that the people who left didn’t kill him and even left a bit of food for him.
So, after knowing what happened, Luciel didn’t care about it any longer and just asked for the water.
"I see. Here’s food for four days. Where’s the water?" Luciel said while showing the transparent bag that he was holding.
The boy looked at the food inside the bag and said, "T-the water I have is not enough. Please wait a moment. I will immediately go and get some more."
The boy just left the bag he carried which was full of water bottles, and immediately ran upstairs.
Luciel didn’t bother entering the apartment again and just leaned on the door while waiting for the boy to come back.
Luciel also didn’t wait long; just after a few minutes, he saw the boy with two more bags filled with water bottles.
"T-these are all the water I could exchange," the boy said while putting down the bags in front of him.
"Ok, it’s enough. Here’s the food for exchange," Luciel said and handed the bag he was carrying to the boy.
Luciel also put the bags filled with water bottles inside the apartment.
"Thank you very much!"
"No need, it’s just an exchange. Next time don’t try knocking on someone’s door without company," Luciel said and closed the door without even waiting for the boy’s reply.
When he closed the door, Luciel also put all the water bottles inside their space. He also made sure to put it in the corner.
He still had a lot of water in their space, and Astrid was also present to provide them with enough water.
So, he put the water bottles he just received at the corner of their space because even though the probability of the boy harming them is very close to zero, it’s still not zero.
It’s better to be cautious and let others check it later before they use it for themselves or for exchange.
The kids inside also obviously already heard what he and the boy talked about, so they didn’t ask anything when he went back to the sofa and just did what they were doing before the boy knocked on their door.
Luciel also resumed watching the movie he was watching before.

The rain continued for 3 more days before it finally stopped.
When Luciel looked outside, the water level didn’t rise any further, and it was still on the level of the whole first floor.
But the water that had been accumulated didn’t disappear immediately but only dried after a week.
So, they had already been staying in the fourth-floor apartment for 15 days without being able to go out because of the water outside.
If the weather had been gloomy, it might have been longer, but the weather had been sunny two days after the heavy rain.
The weather became very hot, so even though he was just staying inside the apartment, he didn’t even want to move at all.
They already turned on the air conditioner, but Luciel still felt that it was very hot, so he had been eating a lot of ice cream in the past few days.
The kids also couldn’t stand the hot weather very much, so even though they had asked about their fast consumption of electricity, they also didn’t try to turn off the air conditioner.
Luciel would also give them ice cream whenever he was eating.
He had received a lot of such things from his individual reward and, of course, from what he had gathered with Treyton before.
So, he wasn’t that stingy in sharing some ice cream with the kids because he had a lot of it.
"Big brother, are we going to travel today?" Astrid asked after looking outside.
Luciel already looked outside and saw that a lot of places were still muddy and not totally dry yet, so he said, "No, let’s wait for things outside to probably dry up. With how hot it is, we could probably start going back to the north base tomorrow.
"Ok, then I and the others will start cleaning up in the afternoon so that we can travel earlier tomorrow," Astrid said.
"Yeah," Luciel answered lazily while still eating an ice cream on the sofa.
"Big brother, there are two cars coming here," Astrid said after glancing outside.
"Only two?"
Astrid checked again and said, "Yes."
"Then just count how many people would come out later. It’s probably the big brother of the person upstairs," Luciel said while still relaxing on the sofa.
"Ok," Astrid said and concentrated on looking outside.
The people who left after taking most of the boy’s supplies are unlikely to come back, so if they aren’t new people traveling, then they’re probably the big brother of the guy upstairs who left with his team to look for supplies.
He still needed to know how many people are in their group to see if there would be no problem later.
The guy upstairs was raised a bit naive but he wouldn’t just believe that because the person was raised in such a way the person who raised him would also be good and have no problems.
