Chapter 574: Qin Yan is back?

The Qin Corporation.

Qin Yicheng had been discharged and thus he immediately went to his office to look at the work. Even if he was settling the important matters of the company in the hospital, it was different from actually going to the office.

He thought that once he resumed his work, he could bring everything back to normal but when he stared at the company’s year-end financial statement, his face grew sullen.

"CEO, is there a problem?" asked his assistant, Wang Jing, who stood in front of the office desk.

Qin Yicheng shook his head with a sullen face and did not say a word. A problem? The problem was huge!

In the past year, the company had been struggling to maintain a state where it could barely survive. But in the year-end financial statement, it was indicated that the company had incurred severe losses.

Although he had been hospitalized for quite a while, Qin Yicheng was still very clear on the company’s situation. There was a problem in here. However, even if Qin Yicheng wanted to engage a professional specialist to come and inspect, they would need a long time to check and inspect it.

Qin Yicheng put down the document. He had his suspicions and when he asked Wang Jing, he came to know that Qin Muran and Xi Yaohua were managing his company in his absence. Qin Mufeng did not visit the Qin Corporation even once. Thus, Qin Yicheng suspected Qin Muran and Xi Yaohua of hollowing out his company!

Even though it would take some time, Qin Yicheng had no choice but to immediately contact a professional specialist to come and inspect the company.

Meanwhile, in the Moonlight villa, Xi Ting sat on his bed, his eyes becoming more and more bloodshot.

Even when he slept here at night, he did not dare to fall into a deep sleep. He was afraid that he would miss any call about his cookie’s whereabouts. He would often wake up in alarm at night, checking his phone repeatedly.

Too much was going on. The suspicion of Liu Ying being the little guy’s mother and no information about Qin Yan made Xi Ting perplexed. He missed his cookie too much and he had never felt more helpless at any other time.

With each day passing like this, his spirits were depleting. And nobody was able to persuade him.

As Xi Ting sat on his bed, he stared at the sky from the windows in his room before he felt tired enough to sleep. He could feel his eyes getting heavier and thus he leaned against the headrest.

However, after several minutes, something very strange happened. Something which Xi Ting could not believe. Shuffling in his sleep, he turned to his left and he was speechless the next second. She was sitting right beside him.

Qin Yan was sitting right beside him. Xi Ting’s eyes opened wide as he stared at his cookie. He tried very hard to speak but he couldn’t. Hundreds of questions ran through his mind and he could not decide which one he should ask first. He looked here and there but only saw the darkness in his room.

Qin Yan smiled at Xi Ting’s reaction.

Xi Ting gazed at Qin Yan. She was fine, totally fine. It appeared that the kidnappers had not touched her. There was not even a single scratch mark on her body. To Xi Ting, she appeared beautiful, just like she had always been.

Xi Ting was still wondering how this could be possible. How could Qin Yan appear right beside him? There was no noise as he would wake up at the slightest sound.

Very innocently, Qin Yan put her hand on Xi Ting’s forehead, sliding it down to his cheek and resting it there. Then she asked him, "How are you, moonpie?"

Xi Ting tried to speak, but his mouth was dry. He swallowed, "I don’t believe this. You were... How...?" Those questions remained incomplete.

Qin Yan smiled, "I know what you are wondering. But I am here for you. Only for you."

"But I could not find you... I tried very hard but I was helpless. I grew more helpless by each passing day," Xi Ting was trying to accept what he was seeing.

No matter how many questions Xi Ting asked, Qin Yan kept answering his queries gently. "Moonpie, I can never be away from you. I was always there, and will always be there. Right beside you, forever."

Xi Ting could see his cookie’s love for him in her eyes. Something in him started believing that whatever was happening was true. He felt comfortable and delighted, the emotions he hadn’t felt since his cookie disappeared.

After a few moments of silence, Xi Ting spoke, "I missed you so much, Yan Yan! For two weeks, I couldn’t talk to you and you were..."

"Shhhhh!" Qin Yan held her finger to Xi Ting’s lips, not allowing him to speak further. "I know you’ve been missing me. I am sorry, Ah Ting. That’s why, despite all the obstacles, I have come to you, the one I love."

She then kissed her moonpie. In that moment of happiness, Xi Ting could not utter anything. Qin Yan then caressed his face lovingly.

The couple kept talking. Qin Yan spoke more than Xi Ting.

"Don’t skip your meals. You have to take care of yourself," she said while holding his hand.

Xi Ting didn’t reply. He was just feeling her fingers in his hands.

"Promise me," Qin Yan said.

"What?" Xi Ting asked, distracted, making irregular figures on her palm with his fingers.

"You haven’t eaten anything from the past few days, right?"

Xi Ting lowered his head in guilt. How could he eat when his cookie was nowhere to be found? It was good that he had not fallen sick like the time when Mo Ran died.

"Promise me you will take care of yourself... Always!"

"Why?"

Mysteriously, she replied, "Because I may not be able to feed you every time." And she laughed.

Xi Ting looked at Qin Yan. She looked cute.

Qin Yan then kissed Xi Ting again on the forehead and looked deep into his eyes. Xi Ting felt something different in that kiss, in her eyes. And then, just like a kid, Qin Yan asked Xi Ting, "Listen, I want to rest my head on your shoulder for a while."

Saying this, she rested on Xi Ting’s shoulder. They were still holding hands. A few moments of silence passed. Xi Ting checked to see if his cookie was asleep while trying to release his hand from hers. However, Qin Yan wasn’t sleeping. She also didn’t allow him to take his hand away. She wanted him to hold her tight.

Xi Ting embraced her in his arms when she said, "Moonpie, thank you for giving me the love of my life."

Xi Ting didn’t reply, but kissed Qin Yan’s hair. They didn’t talk much. He wanted her to rest. After such a long time, they had these moments together. Some more time passed and Xi Ting felt a sound disturbing the silence in the room.

What was that? He could not understand. But he could hear something. Some sound, some kind of vibration bothering him. For a few seconds, he could not figure out what it was. He struggled to open his eyes.

While trying to regain his senses, all of a sudden, he felt that his arms were empty. He looked beside him but Qin Yan wasn’t there. He got scared. He stood up from his bed and looked here and there. But he could not find her. She was gone, he didn’t know where.

His phone which was kept on his bedside kept ringing. In his confusion, he pulled out his phone. It was Tong Chunian calling. Thinking that it must be urgent, Xi Ting immediately picked up the call.

"Boss, the lady boss has been found. But... she isn’t breathing anymore."

"But she was here with me a few minutes back..." Xi Ting heard someone screaming inside him but not a single sound came out.
