"Mother, it’s okay," Qin Yan smiled at Fang Zichen.

Fang Zichen shook her head, "I didn’t trust you. I trusted everyone except you. I am sorry, child. Mother is really sorry. I don’t have any explanation for my actions but all I can say is everything is too hard for me to believe."

Qin Yan understood, "I know, mom. Don’t worry, we will eventually figure out everything."

Han Cheng spoke up, "How did you know that DNA test results were forged? Also, how did you end up suspecting Chu Xing?"

Han Cheng’s gaze was directed at Xi Ting.

Xi Ting replied calmly, "It is almost impossible for two unrelated people to have such similar faces. Also, considering the conditions that Qin Yan lived in when she was in the Qin family, we were almost sure that Mrs. Han is her mother. Thus, when the DNA test results came out to be negative, it was very hard for us to believe. Hence, we investigated your family once more when we found out the existence of Chu Xing.

"She had the motive for keeping Qin Yan away from you guys. So, we investigated her. And when the investigation results came out, they made us sure of our suspicions."

This was the maximum explanation Xi Ting had given to anyone. However now, keeping his ego aside, he was willing to do everything for his cookie’s sake.

Qin Yan also felt bad for her moonpie. She was also grateful towards him for his efforts. She gazed at him in guilt as he had to do everything that he never did just for her sake.

Han Cheng lowered his head down for the first time in his entire life. This was because he knew that it was his mistake to judge Qin Yan on the basis of rumors. Qin Yan gazed into Fang Zichen’s eyes and saw the sincerity in her apology. She knew that such a mistake could have made by anyone. When someone’s health is at risk, people often took many irrational decisions and Qin Yan thus did not blame anyone. Moreover, she was not at fault in the first instance. So, the rumors and the consequences did not even affect her.

Thus, Qin Yan nodded, "Mom, don’t worry. Everything is alright. We should just let go of the past events and focus on the future. Many things are awaiting us and we should just look forward from now on."
