Transmigrated As A Feisty Omega -
Chapter 75: I need to find him
Chapter 75: I need to find him
"Sky."
There was no need to think about whom the Beta is because I know the only Beta my Strawberry will willingly follow is that suspicious one, whom I’m yet to discover what exactly he is.
"Thanks," I said to the Alpha before I turned and headed towards the forest. I tried not to think of what they were doing in the forest because I will go mad with worry if I do that.
"Are we going over to the forest?" Theo was fast in catching up with me.
"Hmm," I folded my drawing book and stuffed it into the pocket of my trousers.
"You don’t look worried," he observed.
"Do you need me to leap out of a freaking class before you know that I’m worried?" I calmly asked him, still trying not to think of my Strawberry.
I consoled myself with the thoughts of how good the relationship between them is. There is no way he will hurt my Strawberry because they are friends.
"You are worried." He nodded, with his focus on the forest, "found anything odd about the Beta?"
"Aside from the fact, there are no records of him? No. There is nothing else to find."
When I checked the record in the library, I didn’t find anything about the Beta. It was as if he just appeared one day, and started existing. It was a bit eyebrow-raising, but the teacher I consulted, claimed it might be a system error.
"It’s odd," Theo nodded.
"Yeah."
I hastened my steps towards the forest, eager to get to my Strawberry. He bears my mark, so there won’t be a problem locating him. All I have to do is sniff the air, and I will be able to locate him wherever he might be.
"Storm!"
I turned at the sound of my name. Strawberry’s friend waved for us to stop. He ran towards us like one who was chased by an evil spirit.
I folded my arms with my brows raised at him. "What do you want?" I asked the moment he got close to us.
He heaved, winded by a small run.
Pathetic Omega.
"Where is Brys?"
"There," Theo pointed at the forest. "Your friend, the Beta, took him in there."
He gasped, "Sky?"
"Who else?" Grumbling under my breath, I turned to face the forest I’ve not stepped into since the contest we had in it.
I sniffed the air, expecting to be hit with the scent of my Strawberry, but I got nothing. I sniffed once more, mortified by my discovery.
"What’s going on? I thought you marked him?" Theo asked, sounding concerned.
"I did."
Yet, I can’t perceive his scent, and neither can I feel the tug of our mark. It was as if my Strawberry disappeared into thin air, never to be found again.
"Then....."
"Let’s go. It could be that we are too far from him," I tried to console myself with those thoughts, knowing I might run insane with worry if I allow myself to think of the possibility of my Strawberry being hurt. I can’t bear the thought of that.
Silently, Theo and the Omega followed me. None of them said a word, which I’m grateful for. I took the route the Beta chose during the contest.
"Why don’t we split? This way, we can be able to cover the routes," the Omega suggested.
"But this place has one exit. What’s the essence of splitting if we will still come out at the same place?" I gave him a freezing stare.
"What of the middle? Splitting sounds like the best idea. This way, we can cover as much ground as we could," Theo supported his Omega like I knew he would.
"Then, let’s do it. You guys should pick any route you feel like taking," I continued walking down the route I chose while they took the one their heart desired.
"Brys!" I called out, still trying not to think hard about the possibility of something bad happening to him.
I walked down the route, which was unlike the one I selected during the contest. There are enough trees over here, to last the entire school a lifetime, should we decide to go primitive and cook with firewood.
"Brys!" I called out once more. Sniffing the air didn’t work whatsoever. "Brys!" I called out as my chest contrasted.
"Brys!"
I ran down the track, shifting mid-air.
For the first time in a long, time, I changed into my wolf. I howled in the air, jumping as I tried to cover enough ground.
In my wolf form, I was able to detect scents, but none of them belonged to my Strawberry. I howled painfully, racing through the forest like a mad wolf, but there was no sign of him.
*****
We searched for him, turning the school upside down, but there was no sign of Strawberry. The principal, the Beta, and the new teachers who came with the principal were nowhere to be found.
It was as if they all disappeared with my Strawberry.
"You need to calm down, Storm. We will find him."
"Shut the hell up!" I punched him so hard in the face, his nose broke. "I need to find my strawberry!" I yelled at him, acting like an insane man, who was let off his cage.
The students who were around, took scared steps back as they tried not to get between us.
Theo cradled his broken nose as he watched me, but not with malice. The expression on his face showed he understood.
"We will find him."
"When?!" I howled at him, almost shifting.
"Calm down, Storm—"
"Don’t tell me to calm the hell down!" I stalked towards him, planning on punching his damned face once more because of how furious I am.
He raised both hands, "okay, we will find him. Let’s check —"
I turned and punched the wall behind me, earning me bloody knuckles. I clenched my fist and gritted my teeth so tight, I drew blood.
My wolf was anxious to get out, to look for his mate. I felt the ache deep within me at the thought of something bad happening to my Strawberry.
Yet, this damned fool is asking me to calm down.
