Transmigrated As A Feisty Omega -
Chapter 51: Secretive Omega
Chapter 51: Secretive Omega
I sat opposite a fuming Ray. Sky has changed classes, just like he said he will.
Aside from the time he brought me lunch, I haven’t seen him throughout the week. The same for Storm, whom I haven’t seen for a week now. The only one I saw was Theo, who didn’t cease to send a freezing glare my way when we locked eyes with each other.
His resentment has gotten to the point it freezes me with each gaze. I can see how much he hates me —It’s written on his face.
"Are you okay?" I asked Ray for the tenth time since he started gritting his teeth. He hasn’t spoken about Sky for a long time; so I figured he had forgotten about him.
"What’s so special about that Omega?" He asked, with his focus on a blue-haired Omega with cute emerald eyes. I haven’t seen him before, which means he’s in the other classes.
The only ones I know are either the popular ones or the ones in the school. Aside from that, they are practically strangers to me.
"What? Why are you angry at him? What did he do?" I turned to face Ray, who was still sending death glares the boy’s way.
Had his eyes been a gun, he would have shot the boy with just a glare.
"He was the damned reason Sky refused me! Who would have thought he will fall for such an ugly, stinking Omega?" Ray clenched his teeth.
He’s neither ugly nor stinking.
That was what I wanted to reply, but the thoughts of being at the receiving end of Ray’s anger, made me reconsider my reply.
I nodded, "there is nothing special about him. What did Sky see in him?"
I failed to tell him that his deductions were wrong. Sky didn’t refuse him because of the boy’s sake. I’m the damned reason for that. The Omega just happened to be in the same class as Sky.
I glanced at the table where Storm loves sitting. For the first time in a week, I saw Theo sitting at their table, which means he left Storm alone at his dorm.
After the first day he banged the door in my face, I have countlessly tried to get in touch with Storm, but each time, Theo is always out to rain fire and brimstone on me with his eyes.
I’m afraid he might punch me in the face someday, which is something I’m not looking forward to.
I got up from the table the moment an idea came to mind. With a smile, I hurried over to the cook and got three wrapped doughnuts and a strawberry juice —Storm once said he loves Strawberry. That was why I got it.
"Ray, I will be right back. If I’m not back within an hour, then know I’m busy with—"
He rose from his chair, and took me by the hand, dragging me outside the rowdy cafeteria to a more deserted place, which wasn’t too far from where I stabbed Storm.
"Ray? What’s wrong?" I furrowed my brows at him.
"You once accused me of keeping secrets from you, right?" He narrowed his eyes at me, looking a bit pissed. "Now, what’s all this? For a week, you have been disappearing without telling me where the hell you have been going!" He looked so mad.
"I... " I swallowed as I tried to think of how to answer his question without lying to him.
"Don’t you dare think to lie to me. Where the damn hell have you been running off to? Are you dating behind my back?" He asked in a serious tone as if he had considered that possibility.
I blushed a bit at his words, "no, I’m not." I sighed, "If you so badly wish to know, then I will tell you. I have been going to Storm’s dorm."
He gasped, "Storm?" He took a step back, stunned by my words. He opened and closed his mouth with no words coming out as his eyes widened some more.
"You don’t have to look so shocked like someone who saw a ghost." I shrugged, "he has been sick for a week; so I have been visiting him." I ran my left hand, which wasn’t holding on to the things I got from the cooks, through my hair — tousling the already messy hair.
"Why won’t I? I thought you hate him? Why do you care whether he’s sick or not?" He suspiciously raised a brow at me with his arms folded.
"Well, he helped me back in the class and got punished for that, wasn’t he?" I forced a smile, "I’m trying to return a favour."
No, I’m not. I’m not trying to repay a god-damned favour. I’m just endeavouring to complete this task.
TSK.
Who would have thought that someone like me, who was reluctant to go the same path the former host went, is now doing exactly what he vowed never to do?
Pfft.
Fate undeniably has the last laugh —always.
Ray folded his arms, "what if he bullies you?"
"I don’t think he will," I shrugged.
I’m afraid he won’t even speak to me. Should he bully me, I will take that as progress. That means I still have the chance to make amends and get him to fall in love with me once more.
If only I knew about this before his confessions. I would have accepted him, and off I go! To a new world.
"But—"
"It’s okay, I’m a big boy. I can take care of myself quite alright. You don’t have to worry about me." I pinched his cheeks, "this big brother here is more than capable."
He blushed at my words but didn’t say a word. Instead, he turned and returned to the cafeteria, blushing like a fool.
I watched him leave with a small smile on my face.
Ray is one of the people I will miss when I leave this world. I only got to spend a few months with him, yet, I feel like I have known him forever.
