Chapter 121: Eliciting his jealousy (Un-edited)
I didn’t turn, not when I knew Storm will growl if I did that. There was no one else in the dining aside from the round table with assorted foods arranged.
Without saying a word, Storm sat on the chair next to the one on the head, and I sat next to him while May sat next to me, smiling from ear to ear.
Storm growled low under his throat, with his focus on the table rather than on me, but I can tell he was watching me. This way, he will have something to say when we return to our room.
"So, have you tasted our signature steak?" May asked, sounding rather excited. "It takes a bit like the one you eat back in your home." He winked, letting me know that he was talking about Earth.
"No, I haven’t." I shrugged, "I’ve not been fed properly since I was brought to the place."
I know I’m only heaping coals on fire by speaking of this, but it’s fun to always poke fun at him.
"Then, I will have the maids prepare them. We have varieties —"
"Don’t you have anything else to do, May?" Storm snarled, with his voice sounding like the rumble of thunder.
He might have his face kept forward, but I can tell my boyfriend is super jealous, though he claims he’s not.
"Me? How can I have anything to do when there is a cute man next to me?" May giggled, winking at me as he said those words. "You should have known how much I love pretty men."
Storm clenched his fists, looking so damned murderous with the way he clenched his teeth tight.
I smiled at that, feeling rather pleased to know that he likes me enough to feel jealous. I don’t think getting his percentage to rise will be as difficult as I thought it will be.
"So, have you —"
The door to the dining got opened, and the king stepped in, followed by the Queen, who had changed out of the wrappers she wore when I saw her a day ago.
She’s now putting on a black wrapper, adorned with golden beads. On her waist are golden beads arranged in such a way that it makes a sound whenever she walks.
The king is putting on a golden wrapper which seemed to compliment the tattoos on his chest.
"Father."
Storm and May rose the moment they reached the table, and I did the same, bowing slightly to the monarchs before we sat back on the chair.
"Early as Always." The king sat next to Storm, while the queen sat next to him, opposite me.
"How can I afford to miss dinner?" May asked with a smile.
"Didn’t ask you, son." The king motioned to Storm, "he’s the Early bird here. And I don’t doubt he was the one who stepped in first."
"Mm."
I was shocked by how well the king seemed to know his sons. It’s evident that they have lived with him long enough for him to know them as much as he did.
"You brought him," his mother winked at him, discreetly motioning towards me to let him know who she was speaking about.
Storm grumbled low under his throat, looking like a wronged child.
"Theo isn’t here?" The king asked, looking at the door as if he expected it to burst open at any moment.
At the question, both Storm and May froze. The action wasn’t lost on me since I was sitting next to them. That was how I got to feel the change in the air.
"Theo? What’s he coming over to do?" Storm was the first to ask. The anger in his tone as he said those words, showed there’s lost blood between the brothers.
"Just like May over here, he seems curious about the cute man you brought home with you," the king said in a tone that seemed to suggest that it was no big deal for the dark prince to be interested in ..... Me?
Oh my God!
This can’t be happening!
Oh, wait a minute. If Theo is the one we are referring to, then it doesn’t matter if I see him. He might be just like Storm. Easy —
"Why will he want that?" Storm growled, sounding rather murderous at the moment. The way his eyes glistened with anger made him look really deadly.
"Well, that was what his special guard sent," the queen spoke over her husband.
"But —"
The door opened and Sky stepped in, looking so much like Storm with the way his face scrunched up in anger. He murmured greetings to his parents before he sat next to his mother.
However, the moment his eyes locked with mine, he smiled, shocking the hell out of not only me but the entire people sitting around the table. And once more, Storm returned to growling low under his breath.
"Seems like this new Omega here is bringing your sons out of their shells." The queen said with a smile, looking like she was in the mood for some gossip. The way her eyes went to me before it changed to Storm, and back at me, seemed a bit suspicious.
Storm kept on grumbling. He doesn’t sound happy at all.
"Well, he’s cute." May shrugged, "I can’t deny that I was moved by his cute eyes. I have never seen eyes as purple as —"
"Keep your damned eyes and thoughts to yourself!" Storm hit his right palm on the table, startling everyone. My heart jumped out of my chest.
The queen placed her right palm on her chest, while the men tried to pretend as if they weren’t scared.
"Oh, is kid brother jealous?" May chuckled, looking like he was having so much fun. "Had it not been for your size, you would have been the Hulk!"
I laughed aloud at that, "why will you liken him to the Hulk? I think he’s like Thor."
"Or Loki."
"Doctor Strange?"
"Nah, he’s not a doctor."
"What of Storm Strange?"
Once more, we burst out into laughter. The others watched us, looking at us as if they somehow expected us to run around naked like mad people.
"Have you seen all the episodes of Harry Potter?" May suddenly asked.
"Are you the one asking me this? What are you? Seven?" I pursed my lips and raised my brows at him. "That was years ago."
"Oh, you are lucky. I wasn’t able to stay until the last episode. What happened to Voldemort? Was he killed?"
"Of course!" I clapped my hands in Glee, eager to tell him about Harry Potter and what happened after he killed Voldemort. It has been years since I last watched the drama that I had to think of most of the scenes.
"Why don’t you get it and watch? Your system can hell you, can’t it?" I tilted my head to the side, wondering why he hasn’t watched the drama when he has the means to do that.
With a TV larger than life itself and a system that does whatever he asks of him, it should be easy for him to watch it.
"Oh, I will do that. Thanks for reminding me of it." He winked at me, "I will also ask him to get more comics for you. Do you like the one I gave to you? I can ask him to —"
A palm hitting on the table startled us once more, causing me to almost jump out of my skin.
Gracious me.
"We are here to dine, not converse!" Storm gritted his teeth, looking so damned murderous with the way his eyes narrowed at his brother. He has a knife between his left fingers, and I know the knife will likely find its way to May, should care not to be taken.
"Oh, I’m trying to get to know him!" I turned it on him with a smile, knowing how much he hates it when I smile at others. My Storm is gradually making an appearance. I pray he sheds his Stony looks fast.
"Slut," he mumbled, for my ears alone.
I forced a smile, trying not to look affected by the name he called me, but it was damned impossible to do so.
"Well, a slut is better than an insane killer," I mumbled back, challenging him with my eyes.
Since he seems to love the slut word, I will just have to find a word he hates to use on —
The door opened, a bit too loudly, as Benda stormed in, looking like one who had a right with his ancestors.
He didn’t even spare a glance at his parents as he stormed toward the chair next to Sky, and sat down.
Almost immediately, the door opened once more, and ...
A gasp escaped my throat at the sight of Storm’s best friend, Theo. However, the shock was nothing compared to the one I had when I saw the man next to Theo.
I gaped at him, greedily swallowing in shock as I tried to convince myself that my eyes were playing tricks on me. But I know that’s not the case.
He’s the one standing in front of me.
