Chapter 75: Saving the Mage

-Oooooooooong!

KiRA used his arm guards and produced some anaesthetic potion to numb the pain and dropped it directly in the mage captain’s mouth.

Neither the mage nor the party understood what was happening, but they trusted KiRA.

From the looks of it, Izzy didn’t seem worried about this. It seemed like she trusted this person enough so the rest of them trusted him as well.

"Don’t act rashly. Whatever happens, your friend will be fine." Izzy still warned the rest of them, her serious eyes almost scaring the group.

"Y-yes!" But the youngest one still nodded, showing the kind of bravery that Izzy wasn’t expecting from someone so young.

"Bite on this." With the mage lying on the ground, his hands and legs tied to the ground with the same golden strings that were tying the murderers, KiRA placed a leather belt in his mouth.

He needed to be alive for the procedure to succeed. KiRA didn’t have the proper artifacts or enough strength and skills to make it painless, but he was trying to do what he could.

"Mmm..." The mage trusted KiRA bit on the leather belt and braced himself.

KiRA also confirmed the resolve of the mage, and the faith that his friends were placing in him, and took a deep breath.

[{ "Uni." }]

[{ Yes! }]

-Oooooooooong!

Unity used her two blessing skills on him and at the same time, KiRA channeled his Holy power and condensed the energy on his finger to turn it into a scalpel.

With a masterful cut, he made an incision around the mage’s abdomen and watched as the mage almost screamed in pain.

"Mfffff!"

The tower was a place of skill, magic, and items. But seeing KiRA perform a surgical procedure was the last thing any of them were expecting right now.

The female swordsman, the second strongest of the group who seemed to be worried about the mage, almost jumped out... but she could not take a single step forward with Izzy standing in front of them.

All she could do at that moment was to wait and watch the process.

"It’ll get worse from here."

Just one incision wasn’t going to be enough since KiRA could see multiple broken Mana channels in his body.

As long as they remained, his body would experience recurring internal wounds. He was trying to repair them along with the internal wounds.

-Oooooooooong!

The process involved using his energy to stabilize the captain’s Mana and then healing the existing wounds with potions.

The second part was easy since he had his arm guards that could directly apply the potion to the wounds, but the first part of the process was the most excruciating.

"MFFFFF...!"

When KiRA’s warmer, denser Holy power interacted with the mage’s weaker, less pure Mana channels, the mental pain that he felt must have been severe

-Ooooooooooong!

KiRA didn’t think he would be able to endure the crude method, but somehow, the mage showed a miraculous mental fortitude.

"Mffff!"

Even with the extreme pain, he maintained his consciousness as the Holy power reconnected the Mana channels in his body.

It did not take long for KiRA, however the mage captain must have felt each passing second as if it were an hour, a few hours even.

"Well done." But KiRA finished the operation soon, closing up the wound with medical threads and then applying some more potion to the incision.

The mage captain had barely made it. Had the two of them been a few minutes late, the Mana inside the Mage captain would have exploded and the entire party along with the three murderers would have been killed on the spot.

"Don’t even think about using magic skills for a week. You need rest. Proper rest." Getting up from his spot, wiping away the sweat covering his face, neck, and practically the entire body, he returned to his partner.

"That was cool." She knew it was an exhausting process, so she helped him cool down as well.

Though before that, she nodded at the party who seemed to have witnessed something unbelievable just now.

It wasn’t every day that you watched an operation as unconventional as this one. KiRA had taken all the sanitary and safety precautions before the operation and even after the process, he sanitized everything including the flesh.

It was a unique scene, something they were going to remember for a long time going forward.

However, before that, all five of them ran forward to their captain.

"Are you alright?"

"Does it hurt? How are you feeling?"

"Hey, do you think you’ll be able to walk?"

"Don’t be like that! Let him speak first, everyone!"

The skills that he had developed in the game were proving to be useful here. He didn’t think taking those classes, fighting those wars, and learning from those people would help him save a promising individual.

============

In the border viewpoint of a veteran like him, this wasn’t all that impressive. But what KiRA looked up to this person was his character and integrity.

Having such lovely friends was a blessing few were blessed with. Seeing them reminded him of his own time in the game... the time where he had friends as lovely as them.

"Haha. I’m fine now, everyone." He seemed to be in a much better state now. And from the way he was smiling, it was obvious that whatever KiRA did had worked.

"..."

"You saved them." Izzy smirked at him, at this soft side of him that he always tried to hide behind his ’evil’ persona.

He was deep down a good boy. That was the main reason she loved him so much.

"Now then..." Both of them knew the association people were approaching.

They would have to give a report on what had happened here, a report that would obviously not include anything that had happened after the murderers were taken down.

All of this was pure coincidence— their meeting with the group, the murderers, KiRA’s help and the rest. All of this happened naturally.

The six of them needed to understand that much before the association people got there...
