To His Hell and Back
Chapter 239: I’m Sorry Brother-II

Chapter 239: I’m Sorry Brother-II

Marissa’s body tensed at once. The fake Hans... he didn’t feel weak.

Despite being a human, he seemed even stronger than her, as if she was facing one of her brother’s guards and this was bad. She could have handled this fight if this person was just a human running around with a syringe on his hands but this wasn’t. The person who had taken Hans’s skin moved in a speed that she couldn’t have detected if she wasn’t a vampiress, a pureblood at that.

Unlike Cassius, she had never fought before. She never participated in martial arts despite her keen interest in it all because she’s a princess. Thus for her fighting prowess, Marissa had nothing but her raw vampiric blood.

Her future in fighting against this man was far too bleak, and although Marissa would have liked to demand for her lover’s situation from this fake Hans, she knew she couldn’t fight against him, much less demanded for informations. Her only choice was to run away.

Find a way to escape!

Turning her head around, Marissa found that there were movements behind the bushes. Those movements started slow but then it moved like a cat that had escaped from its hiding, appearing a once in front of her a total of five people cloaked in black.

All of them looked like humans, they looked like humans but felt so utterly different.

Worse, there was a sign that made them feel so inhuman and that was their bright green eyes that reminded her so much of Arabella. Though Arabella’s emerald eyes never felt so murderous and frightening as the gazes of these people had given terror to her.

"Thinking of running away is such a princess tendency of yours," said the Fake Hans with a chuckle from his throat.

He stepped outward, his feet moving first and then he reached out his hands from his pocket for another syringe with that odd green glowing potion inside it.

"But there shouldn’t be any escape at all for you, we have made sure of it so don’t even think about the escape route you have never had," Fake Hans continued, "If there is anyone you want to blame, you should hurry and blame that brother of yours once you reached Hell, princess."

Marissa gritted her teeth. She knew that Cassius have worked with many deadly cases and it wouldn’t be strange for his enemies to come after her. But this time, it was different. It was utterly different.

These enemies didn’t come here to simply attack her, it was as if they were trying to make an example out of her.

She pursed her lips, "What do you want from me?"

"What else?" the false Hans chuckled, his voice laced with malice. "Your life, of course."He leaned in, eyes gleaming. "We need to break your brother’s confidence. He walks around as if he’s untouchable, as if he can survive us. At first, he was our target. But then I realized..." His smile twisted. "It’s far more effective to shatter someone’s spirit before breaking their body."

He then circled around her slowly, voice low and deliberate. "He doesn’t care for many. And the Princess? Untouchable, we can’t harm her. But you..." He stopped, pointing a finger at her."You’re different. He cares about you. Maybe a little, maybe a lot, but enough. And your death," he sneered, "will be more than enough to crumble what confidence he has left. To shatter him completely."

Marissa couldn’t understand what the Fake Hans were talking about. His words were said just enough for her to understand but not the depth of it. She feared the idea of staying here with him, especially when they’re dead set on killing her.

"Even if you harm me," Marissa said through her clenched jaw, "You won’t be able to break his spirit. Don’t you know how many of my brother’s trusted people had died in front of him? Yet have you seen him break- or crumble? Ever?"

"Hahaha," Fake Hans laughed, "Yes, true, he won’t be able to get too dispirited if we just kill you. You will just be one of the many victims he had to suffer to get the crown but I have a bright idea you see."

The other people behind her began to walk, marching toward her in a circle. Marissa’s red eyes turned redder as she understood that there was no more way of escaping this.

She could only close her eyes, apologizing in her head.

She apologized to Cassius, wishing for his forgiveness.

As his younger sister, she had never wanted to be the reason to slow him down, the reason for him to be destroyed or harm. But now as she was about to became that reason, she could only close her eyes and apologize to her one and only brother, hoping that her death won’t bring him so much pain.

Fake Hans smiled wider when she opened her eyes again and he spoke with a glee, "It would break his spirit for sure if he had to be the one to kill you."

Marissa’s eyes were filled with terror as she understood that they won’t only try to make her die, they would turn her into a monster and handed the blade to her brother- so Cassius would have to be the one to kill her and live with the guilt of it.

"You won’t," Marissa gritted her teeth, her eyes turning glassy as she prepared for the fight.

"We’ll see, Your Highness."

Then the fight began with one of the men beside her trying to grab her hand and pin her in place.

Marissa managed to dodge the attack only to feel a dull pain on her back as someone had already thrown a smaller blade over her body.

Then the Fake Hans appeared in front of her, ready to stabbed her with the syringe.

Thankfully she managed to dodge it in time though for the second time, Marissa wasn’t too lucky. One of the other five men went to tire her out, to make her fight to no avail and stabbed her in places like the back of her legs and stomach.

They were fast and grabbing to put them into a stop grew even more exhausting by time, causing for her to reach the peak of her exhaustion, breathing in labour as she was the only one wounded while her enemies triumph, smiling wide on their lips as though they had planned this ahead.
