To His Hell and Back
Chapter 219: When The Fire Is Too Close-II

Chapter 219: When The Fire Is Too Close-II

She felt something smoldering hot pressed against her stomach, causing for the knot in her stomach to tighten and her toes to curl for no reason.

Something in the air had changed and the change felt so much palpable but she couldn’t pin point exactly what had changed or what she was now feeling. It simply felt so... stimulating yet fragile.

When Cassius lifted his face again, his cheeks seemed flushed. It hadn’t turned bright red, but it felt warmer as if a shade of orangish red had settled over his face which seemed to affect his eyes as it felt even more intense than ever.

His breath sounded like a groan to her ears, making her to flinch and seeing how she seemed sensitive around her ears, Cassius couldn’t help but spoke on purpose, "Those witches are known to create contract with demons but only a few demons could form a contract, around eighty eight of them."

Arabella’s eyes closed slightly every time his hot breath brushed against her ears. He was so close that she could feel every time his lips moved and how it brushed her skin. She couldn’t help but wrung her hands together, sitting tight on the chair as though she could push him she didn’t yet sitting quietly and withstand him whispering against her ears was a difficult task on itself.

"Eighty eight isn’t a lot," whispered Arabella.

"It would be a lot when you consider that’s the amount of demons you have to look into to find out what kind of demon you have formed a contract with, well to be specific, which demon your dearest ancestor have chosen to formed the contract with," Cassius saw her face by tilting his face slightly and he could see how she had tried so hard not to look down on him, not to show her expression that had appeared flushed.

He couldn’t help but leaned his bodyweight even more and Arabella who had been holding his weight slowly fell backward. In time, she managed to held her place by pushing her hand on her back, enough to withstand half of Cassius’s weight for now.

"All Eighty Eight of the demons?" She repeated his question, trying not to be distracted.

Nodding Cassius answered, "Eighty eight excluding mine. I suppose the one I had formed a contract with is quite different as it didn’t fall on the eighty eight lists of demon names in it."

"How do you know that there are eighty eight of them?" she asked as he hummed.

"There was a list of covens and I suppose every coven meant that they are at least one witch in it or perhaps only one as they’re called Queen of the coven not the Queens of a certain coven. In it the list of coven was eighty eight. That would mean there was also eighty eight witches and eighty eight demons which that witch had chosen."

"That is still shooting in the dark," Arabella said with a frown, "Asking a demon is harder than taking one of the sorcerers for interrogation."

"Indeed so I heard of something quite amusing," Cassius remarked with a grin, "It appeared that my dearest mother had been visiting a fortune teller. Would you be delighted to hear that the fortune teller is known for also being a doctor? She had been trying so hard to hide her visit to that fortune teller but well how could she always hide a secret forever?"

"You’re saying that the fortune teller could also be a sorcerer?"

"Correct," Cassius leaned even more in a moment of her inattentiveness. By the time she had realized it, her body had fallen backward on the couch, her back softly bounced on the couch while her eyes came in contact with Cassius’s red ones as he pushed her closer to the couch, still sleeping on her body as if she had turned into his pillow.

"Woah!" She yelped when she fell. Her eyes then looked at him, trying to study why he had pushed her down only to see his long lashes from his closed eyes.

’"Say," Cassius sang with a faint him. His eyes were still closed but his naughty finger had traced her waist, tapping on top of her dress playfully. "I did my best didn’t I?"

Arabella blinked at his question and found herself chuckling. She wondered if Cassius who had always been working so hard for his father had never been praised. Perhaps deep down he loved to be pampered, especially praised once he finished his work well.

What she wasn’t aware of was how Cassius was in no where being playful.

He had been feeling stimulated, especially whenever he sees her. Since the day where he tasted her blood, his desire wasn’t quench, instead it had only gotten even worse to the point that he felt a dire need to be close to her, to touch her, and feel her.

He tried his best to held back but left alone together and with how close Arabella was to him, he couldn’t held back anymore.

no more.

When Cassius lifted his chin, his eyes had gone darker yet still full of heat nonetheless.

"Did I?" He questioned her again and she nodded.

Back in the village, Arabella who always took care of stray cats knew how they would usually appeared cold around you but when chances arrives they would ask to be pet and ruffled.

She wondered if this was the same case and gently without thinking she reached out her hand and ruffled the black crown of his head, softly patting it.

"You did well."

Cassius was big, bigger than anyone she had ever hugged before. He was big, tall, and his body was akin to a stone, hard and full of muscle.

Yet oddly he felt so good to hug. Without thinking while she had patted his hair, she found herself hugging his body tight around her arms, the warmth that spread from him seemed to seep even deeper to her heart.

Cassius’s lips parted slightly as Arabella had willingly hugged him, not knowing the heat that he had failed to control and the thirst that bud for more.

"Since I did well," Cassius drawled, his face that was on her shoulder leaned toward hers to meet her bright green eyes. Once again, Arabella had failed to see his eyes that had gone drunk from desire. "Wouldn’t you give me a small peck?"
