Chapter 82: The Start Of A Legend (2)
As someone who came from a chaotic world, Luis has a set of rules to ensure his survival and one of those is to never ever close your eyes in the face of danger.
For him, it is better to die with his eyes wide open than cowardly closing his eyes and failing to know the reason for his death.
Well, maybe his case was the latter considering that he is clueless why he got reincarnated here in the first place.
But Luis isn’t sure why he opted to close his eyes when the Stone Golem’s foot is approaching to flatten him.
Maybe he gave up? Absolutely not. He may be in pain but if he can move then he will dodge without any second thoughts.
When he heard the notification sound of the system and an unnatural wind pass by, Luis decided that he should open his eyes.
What he first saw isn’t the translucent screen of the system that is directly stuffed to his face but instead, his eyes landed on two figures of orcs in their semi-beast form. They are holding a big and thick log on both ends acting as the stopper to the crushing feet of the golem.
"Arghhhh!" The two grunted as their entire bodies were rigid and trembling under tremendous pressure.
"Cain!" Luis immediately recognized one of them. "And I’m sorry but who are you?"
"I’m Finue, my lord. Arghhhh! One of the injured orcs that you treated before!" The other orc who appears to be older than Cain explained in between grunts. The log which is already brittle because its vitality has been absorbed by the Golem before, it completely shattered under the force of the Golem.
Now, the two orcs’ hands are directly touching the hard holes of the gigantic stone creatures.
"Hey, watch it!" Luis can see how their wolf-like faces are distorted due to the weight that they are carrying.
Luis felt the side of his eyes wet upon seeing that these guys tried to save him.
So he’s got this impulse to help them.
At this time, Luis realized that he was no longer in pain so he tried to stand up but he was a little groggy for some reason. He was about to flop back to the ground when someone scooped him up and carried him. The chest was a little warmer and much wider so he is sure that it is not Xagrien.
"We apologize if we are late, My Lord."
It was Legland.
When Luis was finally away from the Golem’s foot, Koniel hurriedly materialized huge and sturdy water pillars in order to assist the two orcs who came to save the moon elf lord on time.
’Truth be told, if it was just us, then we are not confident that we can reach the moon elf lord even if we ran at full speed.’ Koniel thought and eyed the two with gratitude.
"Quickly move away now!" The assistant priest said.
"I-I can’t!" Cain said with difficulty, his teeth are almost chattering.
"Me too! I-I cannot move my body at all!"
Luis then panicked and said, "This is no good! Their bodies must still be in shock due to the sudden and heavyweight! We need to help them move!" It is also possible that they broke or dislocated some of their bones!
But it turns out that he doesn’t need to tell it twice.
Sylis and Kalux are already there to pull the two stuck orcs and when once the area is clear, Koniel ceases his control over the water pillars.
The Stone Golem’s foot hit the ground with a crushing force. Planting its feet in an almost half a meter pit.
Koniel hitched his breath upon seeing this.
’This force! I can’t believe that the moon elf lord and that young warrior are handling it by themselves!’ The assistant priest felt goosebumps in his arms.
Cain and Finue were immediately attended by the priests who managed to catch up.
"This golem is too strong for you guys. Let me be the one to fight it since I might have found its-" The moon elf lord said as he activated his Revitalize Skill.
However, Legland silenced Luis. "Don’t worry, my lord. We are not the only ones here. I can say that we can at least hold this thing off with our numbers."
The moon elf lord was confused at first but then he felt a huge number of warriors coming towards them.
Luis looked around and he saw probably hundreds or even thousands of moon elves charging at the Stone Golem. Both Sentinels and Clan Warriors
The Aerial Legion is also hovering in the air with their contracted beasts and they incessantly throw elemental attacks one after the other.
"You guys..." Luis was speechless seeing this happen. Mixed feelings are surging in his chest. He felt touched, hopeless and empowered.
But the one that was dominantly brewing deep inside him, was happiness.
Who would have thought that these moon elves and orcs would willingly jump in front of danger just to save or help him?
"None of these is within my expectations. This is funny."
’Because even though I indeed asked for a backup. I still felt happy when someone came to my aid.’
"I am funny."
’Because in the first place, I just wanted to rest and waste away the thousand years of life as the moon elf lord while helping you improve your lives here and there. But now... Now I wanted to be a proper moon elf lord to you. I want to keep you guys.’
Luis heaved a sigh and he felt that the spirit of the Tree of Life is urging him to be honest. Like an annoying conscience.
"You know, I love-," to be your moon elf lord. That was what he was supposed to say but a manly voice cut him off.
"Love what, my lord?" Xagrien approached under the support of Rion. His eyes looked as if he just caught a criminal red-handed!
The male god’s face has a few bruises and it instantly caused a little pain to Luis’ heart.
"Are you okay?" Luis asked, looking really concerned.
"I am not, maybe you can heal me a little, my moon elf lord," Xagrien said with a serious face. He keenly observed the bearer who is in the arms of a different male and he isn’t liking it even if it was a little bit.
Xagrien then scrutinized the expression and complexion of the bearer. He wanted to know what caused him to tear up in pain earlier but there are a lot of subordinates lingering around his bearer so chose to put it on hold for a while.
Luis, on the other hand, felt the piercing stare of his tanned-skinned hottie ’What is up with this guy?’
"Well, I need to go now, my lord." Legland excused himself.
"Okay," Luis nodded and he was supported by Legland to stand on his own. But it seems like the other male has an idea of his own. Luis found himself carried by Xagrien.
"You suddenly clutched your chest earlier. So you must be tired. Let me carry you." Xagrien said worry is evident in his expression.
Luis was speechless. And so are the others.
In order to become serious once again, Luis informed Legland about the regenerative ability of the Stone Golem.
"Do not let the Golem wander into the forest. You must have seen the state of this part of the woodland, right? This is a work done by this creature. Every time it absorbs the vitality of the plants, it will heal all the damages and it will become tougher after that." Luis explained.
"Best if you would take it down here" Luis motioned to the dead woodland. "Also, I will join you once I recuperate." The moon elf lord said while he was bathed in green light. He is trying to regain his strength.
"I feel like I need to deliver the final blow."
Xagrien’s embrace tightened but Luis just ignored it.
"Understood, my lord." And Legland left, the same as the others.
All moon elves and orcs who are still able to move, attacked the stone giant in front of them.
’This will be a tough battle for most of the three-star warriors here.’ The moon elf lord whispered to himself. He intensified the Revitalize Skill to urge his recovery faster.
Luis just silently watched his subjects and he sneakily looked at the notification box.

Time Left: 59 minutes]
At first, Luis is a bit confused as to what the system is referring to. But after he piece it together and he looked at Xagrien’s face, Luis finally knew it. The Oath of the Soul.
"There’s something wrong with you, my lord." Xagrien broke the silence.
"I was watching when you were cutting the waist of the Golem earlier. The time before you cried in pain." Luis knows that Xagrien is dragging it but he is completely aware of the direction that they are heading to.
"By any chance, did your blade touch Nereen’s sphere?"
Should Luis admit it even though there is a possibility that Xagrien will blame himself?
