The news of the Moon Elf Lord’s anger easily spread to all present clans in the Amber Forest.

It is only natural since the reminder of that is very hard to miss. Just look around the forest and see the raised roots of the trees, these are the symbol of the Moon Elf Lord’s anger.

The common folks of the Amber Forest are drunk with cocktail of various emotions these days. They are shocked, amazed and angry all the same time.

Shocked and amazed because to be able to influence the nature using one’s powers has been always the peak of strength for the moon elf race and seeing that their Moon Elf Lord could easily pull it off just by the tide of his emotions— while being pregnant at that— only means that their lord possessed unfathomable powers that could possibly be greater than his predecessors.

The moon elves gained more confidence and security about the future of their race. In their opinion, no matter who or what enemy they will face in the future, with Luis by their side, they will continue to live long and happy.

They are in awe and feel blessed to be born at the time of Luis.

On the other hand, their anger is not directed towards the Moon Elf Lord. They are angry for the Moon Elf Lord’s stead!

Moon elves from different clans and even the newly added wolf orcs are all spitting fire towards the reason of their lord’s anger.

Even though the investigation is just starting, Ali and Patriarch Woo is already receiving hate no matter where they go!

"Is that the guy who dares to question the Moon Elf Lord’s mate? How presumptuous! He’s already old and wrinkly yet he still goes after the Moon Elf Lord!" Patriarch Woo heard unkind whispers, one morning when he went to the market.

His face immediately became crimson since he was never used to be insulted like that.

He’s been the patriarch of their clan for years! He never got subjected to such disrespect!

Patriarch Woo angrily whipped his head to see who dared to talk down on him but immediately shut up.

It was an elderly bearer who is bartering salts with some moon elves from the Cape of Wonders.

The thing about moon elves is that it is in their tradition and values to give the utmost respect to the elderly— more so if they are bearers. Bearers are the ones who get pregnant and for them, they hold the biggest contribution in continuing the future of their race.

Hence, the respect that are given to elderly bearers are not less than the clan patriarch.

"What? You’re looking at me like you want to say something!" The elderly bearer snapped. "This rascal. You grew that old, but you didn’t learn anything about the proper way to treat bearers. Your mother must be ashamed of you! How dare you question a bearer’s mating decision! You don’t do that unless you deliberately want to discredit a bearer’s ability to make sound decision!"

"If you do that to me back in the days, I will skin you alive! You’re lucky our Moon Elf Lord is merciful!"

The crowd started murmuring as the elderly bearer’s words are true.

Reproduction is a very sensitive topic for the moon elves and choosing one’s mate is a matter of great importance. It involves a lot of aspect before arriving into a decision. Therefore, it requires a lot of thought.

If Patriarch Woo and Ali dared to challenge the Moon Elf Lord’s decision. Isn’t that a clear case of disrespect? It is a mistake that previous Moon Elf Lords would resort to execution!

Patriarch Woo had goosebumps at the thought thus, instead of butting heads with the elderly, he turned his back and immediately get out of the bustling marketplace.

Patriarch Woo is not the only one suffering from the aftermath of their mistake.

On the other side of the Amber Forest, Ali is also receiving heavy backlash.

"What do you mean stop being the patriarch in the meantime?" Ali asked Yulls, his second in command.

He is his co-conspirator in snatching the patriarch position from the former patriarch of the Isan Clan thus, he couldn’t believe that the man dared to betray him now.

"Don’t look at me like that. It is not my decision but the elders. I’m just the messenger!" Yulls smirked at Ali.

"You’re the messenger because you’re the one who will replace me!" Ali seethed. "Do you think that the elders would really want a traitor like you, who killed his own brother as the representative of Isan Clan? They must have approached Illian before they chose you!"

Yulls gritted his teeth. Indeed, that is what happened before he received the position.

The elders of Isan Clan went to the newly established Lune Clan to convince Illian, the son of the former patriarch, to go back to their clan and continue his father’s legacy.

It is a very smart move since it is known in the entire Amber Forest that he is Xagrien’s best friend. They thought that if Illian recognizes his roots and rejoined their clan, the Moon Elf Lord will look at their clan in a much better way and ultimately spare them.

Too bad, Ilian is not that stupid to follow them. There’s no way he will choose the people who betrayed his father and drove him out of his home. He’s got a family who really cares for him.

Thus, the elders of the Isan Clan left with disappointment. They settled for the second option who happens to be Yulls.

It doesn’t feel good to be someone else’s spare but since he ultimately gets what he wanted, Yulls only gritted his teeth when he smiles.

"You don’t have a choice here, Ali," Yulls said smiling. "It’s for the sake of the clan."

"I am the strongest warrior here!" Ali bellowed. He can’t believe that in his attempt to be the Moon Elf Lord’s mate, he lost his original position!

Enraged, Ali grabbed his dagger and manipulated his wind power to enhance his speed. He’s going to kill Yulls and he’s going to make it quick!

Ali was about to pounce at the Yulls when suddenly a bolt of lightning hit him from behind, incapacitating him. "Arghhh!"

"You should be thankful that you are a strong warrior or else. You would be in a very bad place by now." A low booming voice thundered inside the patriarch’s house.

"Xagrien!" Ali groaned painfully, full of anger. He can’t believe that after a day of the incident, this man dared to waltz in his abode! Just because he’s the Moon Elf Lord’s mate!

Behind the silver-haired young moon elf are rows of accompanying sentinels.

"Yes, its me and I am here to announce the disciplinary action that the Moon Elf Lord decided for you, Ali." Xagrien said without any emotion. His handsome face is devoid of any gloating at the face of his dissident’s despair.

"The Moon Elf Lord order you to be part of the scout and rescue group. You will be tasked to locate the Blood Dragon, save as many moon elves as you can, and you are not allowed to argue or defy the leader in charge of the said group," Xagrien stopped and looked at Ali intensely, silently asserting his dominance. "Who is, by the way, me."

Hearing this, Ali almost exploded. "No!" The man tried his best to stand up again. However, Xagrien used his lightning powers again, causing the man to become numb for the second time.

Yulls, who is shocked by all this, didn’t dare to move in fear that the tall and handsome young moon elf will go after him.

"I am not done yet," Xagrien said, pressing down the disgraced patriarch. "Ali, the former patriarch of the Isan Clan, is forbidden to return to the Amber Forest as long as the threat from the outside is still there. The Moon Elf Lord is expecting you to offer a great service to other moon elf brothers as a repentance for the mistake you’ve done."

Because of the two lightning bolts that hit Ali, he was unable to speak and move. However, his eyes clearly show his indignation to the Moon Elf Lord’s order.

He is willing to repent if that’s the Moon Elf Lord wanted, but there’s no way he will be Xagrien’s subordinate! Xagrien is a rootless wanderer who was roaming the wilderness just a full moon ago. His pride can’t allow him!

Xagrien seemed to see the unwillingness in his eyes.

The Moon Elf Lord’s mate lowered himself and whispered near his ears, "This is the Moon Elf Lord’s mercy and you’re only allowed to accept and be thankful about it. Watch out for yourself from now on, I am not happy that you angered my mate."

Then with a cold, unfeeling sweeping glance at Yulls, Xagrien left with the entourage of sentinels.

They are about to pass the order to Patriarch Woo this time.

The Amber Forest is thrown into another wave of bustle and without the direct management of Luis, the issue inside his domain is resolving on their own.

However, this is the last of his concern since they have a formidable enemy staking out in front of their home. Luis is hoping for the best while preparing for the worst.
