Chapter 229: To see the Moon Elf Lord (1)

Since the moon elves living in the Immortal Glade felt the pulsating energy of the Moon Elf Lord, they felt an intense want to meet the Moon Elf Lord. They don’t know what happened in the Amber Forest, but all they are certain about is that this desire to meet the Moon Elf Lord was engraved in their soul.

For this reason, they braved the dangerous wilderness of Immortal Glades.

Piero is one of the moon elves trying to meet the Moon Elf Lord. He came from the clan that utilizes the fury of the sky, the Kaldini lightning clan. Under normal circumstances, they would not leave the lightning-prone summit of Kaldini Mountain, the highest peak of the Thilbi Mountain Ranges, but since it is because of the extraordinary existence of the Moon Elf Lord, they enthusiastically went down their homeland to head south where the Amber Forest is located. From the elderly to the youngest, none of them agreed to be left behind.

So the whole three thousand plus lightning power moon elves are threading the path south.

Two weeks into their journey, they finally reached the Portgrass Plains Plains, where various clans of various elemental powers live in its expansive grassland.

"Did any of the scouting group come back?" he heard Gael, their sole patriarch, ask him. For a patriarch, he is relatively on the younger side. However, everyone in the clan knows this middle-aged male with dark purple hair and golden-tanned skin ranks only slightly lower than four-star warriors. So, Piero looks and acts with great respect towards the gentleman.

"Not yet, Patriarch. But rest assured that they will come any moment now."

It was a common courtesy between clans to ask for permission if they were about to cross their territory, which is the job given to their scouts. Secretly, Piero is a little unsettled because it’s almost half a day since they left, yet no shadow of them was seen.

"Our scouts are strong and quick. No matter what happens, they will return to us," Piero whispered inside his head.

"I see. Then we will continue moving and meet with them halfway," Patriarch Gael said his decision. Their movement is faster since the terrain is easier to navigate, and with all their contracted beasts, they will reach the first clan before the night falls. "We cannot let ourselves lagging since we are only ten days away from the Amber Forest. It won’t be long until we finally meet the Moon Elf Lord."

"All of the Moon Elves we know are moving to meet the Moon Elf Lord. Will I meet you there, Elder Brother?" Gael thought as he looked at the horizon of the grassland

"Understood, Patriarch!" Piero answered. He blew the whistle for everyone to hear, signaling to go on.

"Patriarch! This is of great trouble! The scout team had arrived, but they were saying something!" Their big group is advancing when someone yells from the vanguard. "T-They said a lot of moon elves have d-died in the Haro Clan’s territory!"

Instantly, the lightning clan is shrouded with tension. They crossed the wilderness and encountered great perils in the face of the beasts and dangerous terrains, but never did it hit them that they would encounter something harrowing in the land where multiple clans supposedly lived in peace.

Patriarch Gael’s purple eyes firmed eyes flashed violently. He balled his fist, "Summon the scouting group and explain to me in great detail what they saw."

Following the lengthy explanation from the scout leader, Gael decided to go and check the Haro Clan’s settlement with their clan’s best fighters. He was acquainted with the patriarch of the mentioned wind-powered clan, so they must at least look for answers to what caused the death of their fellow moon elves.

Most importantly, they must report this to the temple and the moon elf lord.

However, when they came to the Haro Clan’s walled territory, they were shocked to see its current state.

"What is this? Does draught come without us knowing?" One warrior said, his tone is full of disbelief.

The territory’s trees, shrubs, and grasses are turned into brittle, dried debris. It was like death made a visit to the Haro Clan’s territory.

"This is weird. Not even any contracted beasts are left here."

"Patriarch! The bodies are here! They are-" The warrior could not continue his words as he felt nauseated by the sight that welcomed him.

Gael approached the direction with a steady, firm gait. He inspected the bodies and realized that something was amiss.

"The traces left on the wounds are not that of a nature’s energy..." he trailed off. The bodies are killed variously. Beaten by a blunt weapon, impaled by earth spears, and fried by a weird fire.

But no matter how grotesque their state is, Gael could distinguish their faces. "And that is not all. Who are these moon elves? They are not Haro Clan."

"I think they are the notorious rogues who are said to be pillaging around this area," Piero said. He is responsible for trading, so he is aware of the issues encountered by the clans. And there were times when the group even attacked him.

"Could they be that they are the ones behind this abnormal situation? These rogues have the audacity to wreak havoc when the Moon Elf Lord is calling on us!"

"No, this is impossible. The power used here is not that of elemental powers," Gael sharply looked at the previous warrior. "An external force must have a hand on this. We need to hurry and report to the Moon Elf Lord."

"The Moon Elf Lord’s call must be related to this. We need to change our routes. Let’s head west. If we thread at the edge of the steep Redhill Peaks, then we will reach the Amber Forest faster."

"But what about the other clans here? We need to check on them too!"

"Haven’t you noticed something?" Piero raised his voice. "We passed the White Cap Mountain, and the Ice Clans have wholly disappeared, and so have the other clans we passed through! They are just like us! They are moving to meet the Moon Elf Lord. All of them!"

"It is no use to raise our voices. It will only magnify your terror," Gael’s firm voice boomed. "These rogues must have tried to rob the homes of the Haro Clan after they left so, do not mind them."

"Let’s hurry up, and go! This is a serious matter!"

He fears their entire race will fail to prepare for what’s to come if they dawdle for long.
