There's Something Wrong With You, My Lord!
Chapter 217: Breath Of Life (2)

Chapter 217: Breath Of Life (2)

"From the procurement and production of materials to construction of materials. The speedy and tireless work of the Logistics Group touched all of these aspects, so it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that you served as an efficient bridge that made the entire process of building the city seamlessly. This is not only based on my opinion, but the majority of the representatives of the Tribunal, the priests, and the sentinels nominated your group. That is why you being the Best Performing Group spells honor and something that you should be proud of," Luis’ clear voice was clear as it reverberated throughout the entire open field. The lounge chair has long been put away. He is currently in work mode.

The moon is finally showing its brilliance in the night sky. Several fireflies circle the shore while emitting yellowish-green light, illuminating Luis and everyone present. But to these avid fans of the Moon Elf Lord, the light coming from the moon and the fireflies added a sense of surrealism to Luis. They are treating this meeting almost sacred.

Meanwhile, Luis’ mood contrasts with his constituent’s mood. He is as casual as he can be while wearing a friendly smile. Xagrien silently stood beside Luis, his head shamelessly tilted towards Luis’ direction with an imperceptible smile in his eyes. No one knows (even Legland, Nicol, and Olyn, who are all standing on Luis’ left side) that his heart was racing at this moment because of the beauty of the Moon Elf Lord.

"You guys did an outstanding job. That is why I decided to do my best to improve your promised rewards." Luis said. As if on cue, Legland, Nicol, Olyn, and Xagrien took a few steps back, giving way.

The Moon Elf Lord waltzed his way to the middle of the laying reinforced armaments, the products of his Morning Wood Skill. As bad as that skill sounds, Luis must admit that it is a very useful skill.

"Okay, Let’s do this, Mitch," He uttered under his breath. Luis craftily censored the B-word since he had already sworn not to say or at least minimize uttering curses again.

The Life Bringer’s Sigil shone on Luis’ forehead, revealing it’s a gorgeous pattern.

With a swift movement of his hand, his palm emitted silvery powder that landed on the hundreds of weapons waiting for his blessing. All the weapons these light powders touched started glowing when Luis closed his eyes.

Nicol, who felt this foreign power in close quarters for the first time, couldn’t stop the crack forming in his originally blank expression. "This power is—!"

He felt the small oppressive force that comes with it, but most of all, he thought that every sense of his being was coming alive! Excitement, joy, fulfillment, and other positive emotions are known; none of those could come close to what he really feels.

It was understandable that Nicol had such a strong reaction. He was unconscious and fighting for his life, so it is natural that he doesn’t have any recollection of how Luis used the life energy to save Nicol. It is practically his first time.

But to Legland and Xagrien, who had already experienced it before, their astonishment did not water down. In fact, it was like they were getting acquainted with a new kind of power that they never encountered before.

"This exhilaration... So, this is the true face of life energy, huh?" Xagrien uttered. Aside from the then-unconscious Nicol, he is the only one who directly receives the overwhelming might of energy that fateful night of Nicol’s reawakening. As far as he can remember, it was tyrannic energy. He could still recall how his back almost caved in because of the intense pressure. However, it is different now.

Because of these raw memories playing in his head, he turned to look at Luis with a proud look in his eyes. So, his beloved bearer could really achieve things once he put his back into it, huh?

Xagrien said to himself for the nth time that he was lucky to have such a bearer as his mate and the bearer of his children.

Of course, the other audiences looking at this sight were full of awe and worship for their only Moon Elf Lord.

But no matter how the world perceives this situation, it is out of Luis’ consideration. His focus is one hundred percent allotted to doing his work.

"A sigil gives its possessor the autonomy to utilize Archaic Powers. There were no stated limitations as to what extent he could use the life energy, and that, in itself, is a chain for me. It was up to me what effects I could squeeze out of the power of life," Luis thought.

After that, he emptied his mind and focused on enforcing his will to the powdery state of life energy he put on the armaments.

"I know full well how important it is to have indestructible weapons, especially when in a life-threatening situation. However, this kind of strength is useless if, at the end of the fight, the owner of that weapon dies. That is why I want these weapons to be a reliable partner of my honest and faithful constituents that save lives whenever they face an inevitable doom," Luis whispered to the Sigil on his forehead. He is not sure if his word was effective.

But after he thought of those words in his head, he felt the rush of life energy escaping from his Sigil. "What is happening?" Luis thought. He slowly opened his eyes to see his entire body surrounded by silver light.

This much did not freak him out since he had seen this scenario quite a few times during his training. However, what made his eyes widen in shock was the floating swords, spears, sabers, bows, and all the other weapons that would be given away.

Luis did not use his nature’s energy to make them float, so what made these weapons float in the air?

Ding! The sound of a system notification suddenly rang inside his head.

Luis’ heart suddenly thumped erratically when he heard this familiar message notification sound. To his side, the system interface once again appeared and boldly showed the lady admin’s message that he once swore his nemesis.

Oh? Will I receive never-ending praise because of my benevolence? Luis knew that this lady admin and the system were teaming up to ensure that the Moon Elf race would continue to exist and that what he was doing now would contribute to the safety and strength of everyone. No matter if they are orcs or moon elves.

But it appears that he spoke too soon. All the letters are in capslock with excessive exclamation points at the end. The lady admin is pissed!

[Yah! Luis Lee! Are you going insane now?! Did you want to challenge the authority of the universe now? Not even the gods, regardless of rank, dare to do that! You cannot deprive death to any beings that are made to die in the end! That is not yours to decide! What you are doing would topple the balance between life and death. You must not do that!!]

"What the hell does this admin mean?!" Luis’ dark green eyes almost ejected from his sockets upon reading this message. Clearly, this message implies that he is playing god. When in reality, he is not. Absolutely not!

Actually he made those orders vague in order to test the the waters of this power. It seems like although it is indeed a limitless power, there are rules that surround it that must not be challenged. It was a fair deal, Luis must admit.

[Nerf your orders to the Sigil if you don’t want even this world’s fate to hunt you down like a fugitive. What was your intention when you thought these wooden weapons would save the lives of their owners whenever they were in a deadly situation? That is like you are roundabout saying that you are granting these weapons the ability to revive the dead infinitely. That is problematic in a lot of sense! Change it! Change it! You bitch!]

"Huh?! Does this—" Luis uttered long and rich curses in his mind. This admin really dares to call him that. Does she have a death wish?!

The Moon Elf Lord feels like his head would pop any minute now. However, he tried hard to rein his temper since this would directly implicate his control over the life energy.

He only said to himself as consolation that at least now, he’s got a mentor whom he could bug whenever he needed to know something about the Life Bringer’s Sigil.

"But by the way, how come she knew the current situation? Is she seeing his every movement now?" Luis uttered in his mind, and he slowly raised his glowing hand to give a middle finger salute to the lady admin of his cursed system.

[What is that? Are you asking to have that finger cut? I must remind you that you are incapable of regenerating. You can’t afford to hurt yourself, especially now that you are bearing children.]

With this, Luis confirmed one thing: the system admin can see him and everyone with him. Is she a god or something? Well, no matter what the case was, it does not concern him. Besides, that is a question he could never ask.

Luis once again closed his eyes, and this time, he focused on rewriting his will according to the lady admin’s suggestion-slash-complaint. He cannot afford to cause trouble.
