"I know I always say to you, let’s not think about it since it is still early, or let’s enjoy each other’s company first, but..." Luis bit his lower lip and tried to bat his lashes to remove the lingering tears around his eyes. "I am not completely honest when I say those words. In fact, I am not completely honest about that too. The thought of holding a child that looks like the perfect mix of us keeps popping up in my head, and I am foolishly thinking... and hoping that these crazy feelings in my body are symptoms of pregnancy."

Luis whined like a child in Xagrien’s arms. Gone were the majesty of the Moon Elf Lord and his natural cheekiness. His hand hurt since he clenched his fist tighter, encasing the black Eclipse stone. Luis isn’t bothered about the dull discomfort as that is incomparable to his distress.

Now, he is nothing but a brokenhearted bearer who was betrayed by his expectations.

But can anyone blame him?

Inexplicable mood swings, lethargy, and sexual sensitivity are not usual for a moon elf lord to feel. Sickness and illness are not a thing even to Luis’ predecessors! The only time when the moon elf lords felt something off in their bodies was when they were bearers and bearing a child!

Couple this with the symptoms said by Rean and the other bearers and make him believe that he may be pregnant!

"I shouldn’t expect anything. I should have cut the hope when it was still budding. I am t-too delusional."

Luis buried his head in Xagrien’s muscled chest, to which the man lovingly responded with a tight hug. Xagrien gently massaged his back to help him calm down, which only made him more emotional.

For the first time since he came into this world, Luis felt down to the point that he thought he was falling into the pits of depression.

Maybe this is how the bearers felt before he came. They want to have a child of their own, and yet only failure greets them in the end, no matter how hard they try.

Luis is aware that they must have had it hard compared to him, but that doesn’t make the scathing pain of disappointment that Luis felt any less than the others.

"Luis, everything is okay. Don’t cry," Xagrien whispered in Luis’ ears. Just like Luis, Xagrien is sad about the whole situation. His lover’s tears felt like sharp knives directed straight to his heart.

He fell for his lover’s rich facial expressions. Xagrien must admit that even if they did a lot of things together and saw a lot of sides of Luis that surprised him, he is still looking forward to seeing more from his mate.

However, this is the side that he doesn’t want to see at all. Because this clearly shows how hurt Luis was. This sight is killing him.

"I-I know that everything will be alright since you are here with me, and we will not stop f-fucking even if we had one. But... It’s just that," Luis kept on stopping as he spoke. May it be because his tears kept on bothering him or his chaotic emotions, the Moon Elf Lord found it hard to voice out his truth.

"What is it, Baby?" Xagrien cupped Luis’ face and gently caressed his bearer’s smooth, flushed cheeks. At this moment, Xagrien treats Luis like he is a fragile treasure. "We both promised that we would be honest to each other. Did you ever see me judge you based on the things that you confessed to me? I accepted you, although you are a pervert. So— ouch."

"Brute," Luis murmured as he released the man’s nipples from his fingers.

It seems like pinching his mischievous lover’s twin chocolate peaks helps him ease his emotions a little. Luis stopped his bawling and calmly wiped his tears away. "I just thought that I finally have a child. Did you know that before I came here, I always felt alone? Yes, I had my own group of friends with whom I could trust my back. But that is not always the case. All this time, I lived all by myself, even before the apocalypse."

Luis Lee from modern Earth grew up an orphan without any relatives who could care for him. The only place that accepted him was the orphanage. That is where he learned how other people’s company could be warm and lonely at the same time.

It was warm because he had someone with whom he could share his misery and lonely since that is also the first place that taught him that being biracial could be a reason to be mistreated.

Orphan and biracial, Luis had everything it takes to be the underdog in a close-minded society. He doesn’t need to expose his rainbow flag, as he is already frowned upon.

That is why he assumed a flexible personality, an indomitable spirit, and a well-trained physique to deter any trouble. The small measures he took to achieve these things helped him survive the apocalypse in the end. That is the good side effect of being alone. As for the bad side, Luis did his best to keep it to himself, but now, he laid it bare in front of the man that he trusted the most.

"I-I wanted a family that I could come home to," Luis sniffed his snot to stop the threatening tears in his eyes. He is certain that if it were someone else whom he is confiding to, he wouldn’t bawl his eyes like this. Xagrien gives him unprecedented comfort that he has never felt before. That must be the reason why his instinct let him lay down his vulnerable side in front of the man. "I want to give life to this beautiful house you built for me."

Luis stared directly at his mate’s purple eyes, who always made him feel loved and whose presence kept him occupied.

Xagrien could see the affection and the truth in Luis’ dark green eyes. In just one look, the knot that formed in his heart disappeared due to his bearer’s pitiful tears.

’Luis is the only one that could make my heart somersault like this,’ he thought as he planted butterfly kisses around Luis’ face. "Yes, I want that too. And I am confident that it won’t be long until that becomes a reality."

Xagrien massaged the still-flat abdomen of the flushed bearer, only to be swatted away by the bearer. "It tickles! Stop that."

"You sound arrogantly certain as if you could see the inside of my abdomen."

"So cranky," The tanned-skinned male who looked like a handsome model cut from a sex magazine smiled brightly. "I know because I am the one who plants the seeds."

"Oh, right." Luis’ temperament started to simmer down, as shown in his pout and squinted eyes. "Even the farmers don’t know which seeds could sprout seedlings, so how come you could do that?"

Finally, his bearer calmed down. However, he didn’t let this opportunity to return the grace his lover gave him. He could remember how his adorable Moon Elf Lord comforted him when he was distressed because of the memory of his late mother. This time, he vows to soothe the emotionally stressed Moon Elf Lord. He will give him the reassurance that Luis needs now.

Luis was caught off guard when Xagrien pulled him up. Now that the two of them are standing, their height difference becomes apparent, but that is perfect for them to see each other eye to eye.

The seriousness in Xagrien’s eyes made Luis silent. The Moon Elf Lord’s heart started to pace fast once again. Somehow, nervousness crept up on his spine as Xagrien watched him from a high angle.

"I know that because I believe in us."

Xagrien’s voice reverberated in his ears. Each word felt hot as it made its way to his mind and heart.

"X-Xagrien," Luis uttered with difficulty. Hearing such a heart-shaking statement from his lover choked him with overwhelming emotion. This time, it is not sadness. It is love.

"You are unique, Luis. That is the reason I always said to myself every time I encountered a new thing that didn’t even appear in my imagination. This is why I find it easy to accept everything no matter how unbelieve for someone lacking in smarts like me."

"What do you mean someone with limited knowledge?! You are one of the smartest individuals that I know!" The solemn mood of the Moon Elf Lord instantly diminished. Is this guy humble bragging?! He could learn magic at an interstellar speed, and yet he dares to refer to himself as lacking in intellect?! What a pushover

Xagrien made a sexy low laugh, "Then I am honored that the Moon Elf Lord thinks highly of me like that. Now, I would love it if my Moon Elf Lord would also know how special you are, the same way I view you."

The look on his Moon Elf Lord’s eyes changed, and in an instant, he felt the burden on his shoulder.

"You have the system, an infinite power, and the ability that bestows life. I find it hard to believe that we will have difficulty in conceiving. Who knows, maybe it is already full at this time. Perhaps it is just playing hide and seek with you. He is your son, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he is naughty like you," Xagrien lightheartedly joked, which drew a smile on Luis’ lips.

Unbeknownst to the happy couple, the black matter that mysteriously disrupts and sends the energy back vanished, letting the energy from the black Eclipse Moon Stone (that remained on the Moon Elf Lord’s grasp) flow unimpeded. This time, it properly reached its destination—however, something unthinkable happened. The nature’s energy stored surged as if it was being sucked.

Luis and Xagrien weren’t aware that they were in for a big surprise once they saw the changes on the Eclipse Moon Stone that Luis was holding.

Now that the murky emotion had vanished, Luis and Xagrien reached for each other’s lips and locked themselves into a deep, passionate kiss.

"What is that?" Xagrien asked, hearing that something fell from behind him.

"That’s nothing. It’s just the Eclipse Moon Stone that I stole. Do you want to see it?"

Xagrien looked at the blushing face of his lover. The gloom has completely left Luis’s beautiful face. He doesn’t want his bearer to be saddened by that cursed stone. Xagrien pulled Luis to the bed and gently laid his mate.

"Later, let’s make sure that you are stuffed today. Your daily supply of seed is waiting for you."

And the two madelove, sparing each other from the shock that awaits them.
