There's Something Wrong With You, My Lord!
Chapter 171: Xerxes’ Wish

Chapter 171: Xerxes’ Wish

Question marks started floating over Luis’ head. Not just because of an unfamiliar word, Life bringer’s Sigil.

’Something is up with Xerxes’ question...’ That is exactly what he thought as he looked directly at the icy blue eyes of the handsome Blizzard Dragon.

Xagrien was silent but he also realized that Xerxes’ question is not as simple as it seems.

Luis wanted to beat around the bush in order to find out the reason behind the grave expression of the adult dragon but then he remembered that he promised to answer the question truthfully.

Luis heaved a sigh, "For the record, I am not sure if this thing in my forehead is a Sigil. It only appeared the moment I received the Moon Goddess’ blessing."

Xerxes just stared at the Moon Elf Lord blankly, trying to comprehend the words spoken and then said after some time, "That’s it?"

Luis nodded gently, "That is it."

He saw how Xerxes’ face was colored with skepticism so he added, "Xagrien was there when it happened. So might as well ask him."

Xagrien nodded his head when the other male’s eyes landed on him.

"I see," Xerxes fell into contemplation after confirming the facts.

Personally, he doesn’t want to believe the ridiculous answer given by the Moon Elf Lord since this is different from the methods that he knows of.

One of the known method requires massive bloodshed that often resulted to extinction or a race.

Somehow, he felt relieved that the Moon Elf Lord hadn’t experienced tasting the blood. Or else the feeling of killing will surely grow on him until he changes for the worse. Just like a specific someone.

Melancholy once again rushed to his chest. However, it was only short-lived.

"Do you think that it is indeed a Sigil?"

"What is Life bringer’s Sigil, by the way?"

Xerxes heard the two successive questions shot by the Moon Elf Lord.

Right, this lord was just a newborn so he must have known little about Sigils.

He doesn’t know if he should pity the bearer for possessing such a coveted power or be assured knowing that they found sturdy wings to take care of them.

"Yes, I felt what it’s like to be in the presence of a Sigil once and I must say that it is giving the same divine energy just like yours."

Xerxes gave the confirmation that Luis asked in a gentle manner.

Luis, on the other hand, had mixed feelings upon hearing this.

"So it means that other lords will come for my neck?"

Luis was still undenial at this point. How can he rest easy knowing that he will be haunted like a delicious prey once they caught a whiff that he possesses such power?

"Yes."

"Why would they do that anyway? Does killing the possessor let them steal the Sigil?"

"Indeed, Moon Elf Lord. Actually..." Xerxes wanted to add vital information that should be helpful to the Moon Elf Lord but he was interrupted by the exaggerated reaction of the Moon Elf Lord.

Luis felt like he shed 10 percent of his life just hearing that.

"I love my life." Luis’ nostrils are the size of a coin when he sighs.

So at least now they are sure that he is possessing a ticking time bomb.

Just his luck.

"It’s alright, Luis," Xagrien whispered to him. "I will protect you."

"Xagrien..." Luis tilted his head up to look at his man and once again, they wordlessly expressed their love for each other through their glassy gaze.

"It’s great to know that you are both in love with each other but can’t you stop doing that in front of other people?" Xerxes’ emotionless voice burst their little bubble.

Guilty as charged, Luis cleared his throat and resumed formally speaking as if nothing happened.

"By the way, what do you mean when you call it Life Bringer’s Sigil?"

Xerxes was speechless at how swiftly the Moon Elf Lord changed his tone at the drop of the hat.

But he still answered nonetheless. "You must have known that Sigils correspond to Archaic Powers and based on the patterns that are designed within the symbol it must be related to Life Power. Sigils that have leaf patterns are called Life Bringer’s Sigil in the legends because it has the ability to breathe life into anything."

Goosebumps started to break out in Luis’ arms. Isn’t that too overpowering?

He wanted to say that it was impossible that he had Life Bringer’s Sigil but so far, facts pointed out that it is indeed the case.

The prime example is present, it’s the one that they are currently riding.

"That explains why Baku seems to understand things," Xagrien murmured over his head.

"Yes, and Sigils could do things more than that," Xerxes looked at their side and watched as the trees disappeared into an afterimage.

Luis internally uttered his agreement. Since Sigils are said to give autonomy over certain Archaic Powers, it means that Life Bringer’s Sigil ability wouldn’t stop at simply giving life.

It might even be possible to deny someone a life.

What a macabre thought.

Luis brushed that off his mind like he was waving away a nasty bug.

"Anyway if you don’t mind me asking, why did you ask about my Sigil as if you are dreading something disgusting coming out of my mouth?" The Moon Elf Lord pointedly asked.

He can no longer hold back his curiosity so he decided to confront the Blizzard Dragon.

With his arms crossed, he waited for Xerxes’ answer.

It didn’t take that long for the words starting to come out of the handsome man with long silvery hair.

"Can I ask to keep my answer to myself? That is rather personal."

Luis was just silent for some time, just observing the expression on the opposite man’s face. He ultimately gave up upon realizing that Xerxes was a professional in hiding his emotions.

"Okay."

"What is okay?" Xerxes’ brows are knotted due to confusion.

"It means that my bearer agreed to your request," Xagrien answered in Luis’ stead.

"Moon Elf Lord, You have such an interesting word. It’s perfect to induce confusion without using an illusion."

"Well, you would understand that in the long run besides there are a lot of other words that you haven’t heard from me," Luis replied.

He stretched his back while his boyfriend faithfully held his waist to keep him in place.

Something within Xerxes was touched watching this peaceful and at the same time intimate behavior of the lover.

’Your son already found his other half. Too bad you didn’t get to see it in your own eyes. I wonder if you would accept the fact that Xagrien is choosing the same choices as you did?’

All he could wish was the two will maintain such blissful life until Xagrien breathed his last breath.
