There's Something Wrong With You, My Lord!
Chapter 158: Not Fated, Never Destined (4)

Chapter 158: Not Fated, Never Destined (4)

"Ha!" Luis let out a loud sigh and then it was followed by a bellowing; "Bwahahaha."

The tree spirit who has little confidence to speak honestly earlier has become stiff.

He didn’t push the Moon Elf Lord to madness, did he? If the Moon Elf Lord becomes violent then there is no guarantee that he will not end tragically!

He only managed to slip away from Lord Flamion because that moon elf is insensitive to his surroundings.

But this bearer, the new Moon Elf Lord, has unparalleled reflexes.

There’s no saying that he will be caught right away.

’Maybe I shouldn’t speak too comfortably.’

While the spirit of Heart of the Forest is contemplating his words and actions.

Luis is laughing at the irony of the situation. He’s been ruthlessly grilled by the facts that this tree spirit spat and he would be a hypocrite if he says he isn’t offended. Because hell...

The veins in his head are alive and pumping.

However, the truth always hurts. They are still scattered without any impressive condition that is worth bragging about once they’ve gone out and met other races. But so what? They are in the process of building themselves up.

Luis stopped laughing and asked with a smirk on his lips.

"You say that I don’t have anything. Now, how sure are you that I can do whatever you ask?"

"That’s because you are the Moon Elf Lord. Races are just races but the lords are "the" lords. They can influence the world if they want to."

That answer was dropped instantaneously and it caused Luis goosebumps. This made him sound like he is omnipotent while he is nothing but a simple gay who’s horny for his man!

"Fine, what is your request?" Luis hastily shot that question or else the conversation will veered towards a more ridiculous direction. "Mind you I will automatically reject it if it’s to the point of impossibility."

"I understand, Great Moon Elf Lord," says the spirit in a confident voice.

"The thing is... I want to..." Luis listened to the next words of the cute little python.

However, as the little spirit’s words keep piling up, the reaction on the Moon Elf Lord’s face turned graver and duller.

"I can understand now why you are testing my bottom line earlier," the Moon Elf Lord’s voice sounded solemn and it lacked the usual amiability.

"Heart of the Forest’s Spirit, I will give you a chance to further explain your request. However, in my opinion, it’s best for you if you change it. Because by all means, I am not capable of doing such a thing."

The tree spirit gulped. If he only has sweat glands, then he would be sweating buckets right now.

"But I just wanted to have someone to talk with and Xerxes’... he is fading."

"That’s why you are asking me to find a way to cage a part of his soul here before his body disintegrates and his traces vanish?"

Right after the light vanishes, Xagrien’s eyes are greeted with an unbelievable scene.

Above him is a wide blue sky adorned with scattered white clouds.

The cotton-white clouds are constantly moving despite the fact that the surroundings around him don’t have any traces of blowing winds.

But the atmosphere was cold, more bitingly freezing than the dark woods of the Middle Circle.

"Where are we?" Xagrien asked as his eyes scanned the surroundings around him. From the translucent sky-blue walls and pillars he has a vague idea where they are at.

"Underground," Xerxes responded and scanned the current state of the young man in front of him.

"Aren’t you..." Xagrien, the half-naked young man met his skeptical gaze with furrowed brows. "Forget it, I will just get you a robe."

A magic circle suddenly lights up in one of the pillars and another minion appears. It dashed through the wide halls of the lair until it disappeared from their sight.

"Won’t that take long? Let’s start talking so that we can finish early."

"This child... your possessiveness is really dragon-like," Xerxes only said while looking at the stoic face of the young man.

’Your face only has expressions whenever there is the Moon Elf Lord around,’ he thought while his face looked as if his gastric juices rose to his mouth.

"Don’t worry, it will be quick."

Since he is the one older, Xerxes made a concession and true to his words, the minion appeared with a piece of a long garment made of black velvety cloth.

Xerxes threw it to the young man, "Wear that."

Without making any sound, Xagrien put on the clothes. He likes the feeling of the robes against his skin and it isn’t too baggy or tight. Just the perfect size for him.

He then tied the golden belt around his strong waist.

"You are a natural," Xerxes couldn’t help but blurt out. "Dragons wear robes in order for them to easily strip off of their clothes when they transform. You doing that fluidly with being thought proves your blood is the same as mine."

"Okay." Xagrien flatly answered.

"You don’t look thrilled finding out your other roots. That’s great."

Xagrien observed that Xerxes said the last part meaningfully.

So he asked, "Why did you say that?"

But Xerxes dodged the bullet by saying, "Let’s go deeper into my lair while we are speaking, shall we?"

This made him a little suspicious about t

Instead of answering, Xagrien ran his palm over the soft fabric once again and asked.

"By the way, can I get another robe like this? A little smaller and slimmer is ideal."

Xerxes stared at Xagrien, speechless. He will never ask for whom the second robe is because he already knew.

"There is nothing that fits the size of the bearer Moon Elf Lord. I will give it to you later after we are done, is that fine?"

Impressed that the other knew the purpose of the second robe, Xagrien agreed instantly

"Lead the way," and the two silver-haired men started walking through the wide halls.

While they walked their way in, the older Blizzard Dragon initiated to speak about the dragon race.

Like what they often eat, how important it is to include mana stones in their diet, what the recommended amount and every simple thing that Xagrien thought he was listening to his mother or a father when they were giving him life lessons.

The tone used by the adult dragon is almost reminiscent of his mother and he cannot help but give all his attention to listen.

"...That is why you should strictly contain your intake of mana stone especially if it’s the purest stone like the one you have in this territory. Moon elves are so lucky to have this place. In the entire continent, this is the only place that has this high-quality mana stone."

"I will remember that. Thank you," Xagrien replied promptly.

"I see, that doesn’t interest you."

"That’s because I want to hear more about my mother," Xagrien said truthfully with a serious face. "What is your relationship with him? When did you meet?"

Xerxes was caught off guard, he stood with his mouth agape.

He sighed as surrendered and conditioned himself to spill the tea.

"Oh, this is the part that I am trying to dodge because telling this would also be uncomfortable for you and this is also the reason why I didn’t let the moon elf lord come with you. This is a very sensitive topic that may trigger his wrath."

"You must have heard rumors that the dragon race would kidnap other races for their sexual needs. This is the truth but it isn’t the only thing that is going on. Dragons need to release their excess mana through sex and the best partners for that are races who have less to no mana at all."

"And from that, you should have guessed..." Xerxes uncomfortably looked at Xagrien. He felt guilty saying such things to a child, especially when it happened to his mother.

"Yes I can guess what happened and it makes me hate dragons more," Xagrien replied devoid of emotion.

"Well, you can avoid mingling with them in the future but you can’t completely hate the race. Because no matter what happened, part of your blood came from them and besides Mori doesn’t want you to be resentful." Xerxes replied.

"Believe me or not, he didn’t suffer in any way. He was treated well and he had other friends there. I remember him saying that he felt at home living in Drakirra, the dragon’s territory in the northeast."

This statement made Xagrien contemplate his mother’s attitude whenever he talked about the time with his father. Maybe it was true that he lived a good life during that time.

"Right, my mother is not someone who lets himself be wronged no matter the situation."

"That is true, Mori is a very strong bearer."

Like a switch that is flipped, Xerxes started talking about Mori.

Xagrien noticed how the man’s voice is laced with complex strings of emotion; happiness, longing and sadness as he spoke with great familiarity about the late bearer.

Because of this, there is a feeling of getting a little closer to the man.

Xerxes spoke nonstop and Xagrien listened to him silently, noting everything about his mother in the back of his heart.

The Blizzard Dragon gushed over Mori as they walked.

As he listens, Xagrien is quietly looking around his surroundings.

The lair appeared empty but that is because they are currently in the entrance as they braved through the halls lit by magic-powered laps, various precious gems, sculptures made of gold, and magic weapons came into the display.

All of this is new to Xagrien but he remained expressionless.

Xerxes’ voice intervened in the silence and the sound of their footsteps.

"That is also the same expression of Mori when he was first taken to Drakirra. He didn’t bat an eyelash when seeing extravagance, instead, he found it boring," Xerxes said with a smile on his face yet his tone was laced with melancholy.

"My mother liked hunting a lot. That is what excites him. If he doesn’t go out to do some action, then the next thing I see is him boring a hole in a tree using his lightning power."

Xagrien solemnly said.

Opening his childhood memories of his mother is the same as reliving the tragic end of Mori.

Therefore, he tries his best to hide and calm his chaotic emotions through his flat expression. Luis isn’t here to caress his sadness away.

’This is enough,’ he told himself.

Xagrien doesn’t want to wait for himself to be an emotional wreck so he decided to ask the question that’s been bugging him.

"Xerxes, you hinted that someone is after my mother and that is the person that sent that Earth Dragon. I want to know who that person is and how I can find him."
