Chapter 127: Scouring Places For A Sky Blue Stone (1)
"Teleporting? Spatial Transference? I’m not certain about the meaning of those terms but there is a newly invented magical array called Transportation Circle," says the golden fur husky while tilting his head.
What Luis likes about Nero is that despite being busy, he will respond to his summon without a fuss.
’This is the subordinate that you threw aside, Isami Kolioda. What an idiot,’ Luis thought as he nodded his head.
The others’ gazes are also glued to Nero, marveling at the lustrous and precious fur.
This is the dog who is said to appear when the moon elf lord used his power. The fabled holy beast.
Nero is a bit jittery under the concentrated gazes of the majority but he held his head high. He was near the moon elf lord, no one can hurt him and no one knows about his past.
[That is what we used in transferring the failed testing subjects. I mean those root crawlers.] He silently communicated with the moon elf lord through telepathy.
Those root crawlers? Luis furrowed his brows in deep thought but then his expression visibly lightened.
’Then that means it is also capable of transferring living things!’ the moon elf lord was excited upon reaching that realization.
"That Transportation Circle is effective even if I use it on myself, right?" This is Luis trying to make sure. He doesn’t like uncertainty. He wanted to hold facts in his hand.
Nero nodded, causing everyone to look as if they saw a ghost.
Magic is that impressive?!
What kind of world are they living in? How come they missed such great things?
That is what they thought.
From the representatives of Tribunals who saw firsthand the battle against the Stone Golem to the Metal Clan who just recently arrived, they all felt this sense of urgency for their lack of knowledge outside their territory.
’Don’t worry there will come a time when we will revolutionize the use of nature’s energy.’ the moon elf lord’s eyes flashed a calculating look.
Luis just sat and watched as complicated emotions passed through their eyes.
’It is a good awakening for them,’ Luis thought and moved on to ask his adorable and knowledgeable husky.
"What materials are required to create that, Nero?"
"My lord, Mythril and a high-grade mana stone are required to operate it."
"Mana Stone?" Olyn quizzically uttered. Luis could almost see a huge question mark on his head.
Old Feren reacted to those two words, "Hmmmp! I’m trying my best to forget that but I am ruthlessly reminded once again."
The moon elf lord analyzed the expression written on the old man but frankly, he looked as if he didn’t mind it at all.
’This cunning old man is pretending.
’Who would have thought that old pervert could be "tsundere" too?’ he pouted his lips to stop himself from smiling.
Luis fanned his hand and said, sounding as if everything was cool, "You will be compensated, don’t worry."
"Then how about a ki-"
"Master!" Legland timely interrupted the old man. Seriously, this old man has been a headache for him. Yesterday, he was dragged for a bloody sparring and he ended up bruised because of it.
Thanks to the moon elf lord, the injury didn’t last long. But this unruliness of his teacher should be stopped!
Nicol, on the other hand, was trying his best to blend in the background. He doesn’t want to be involved with that old fellow or any other pain in the head old man. He fixed his sitting position while avoiding the stare of Nihil, his father and patriarch of the Ris Clan.
"This is getting disgusting," innocent Olyn uttered silently.
Luis couldn’t stop his laugh and he said half truthfully and half-jokingly, "I’m strict when it comes to visual standards and you failed."
He wanted to say that a crumpled weiner doesn’t turn him on. Too bad there’s no sausages in their food.
Hihihi. Luis inwardly laughed.
No holds barred. The entire table was surrounded with silence but this time, everyone was trying to hold back their giggles, especially the Metal Clans.
Nice one, my lord!
Somebody interjected the silent fun of the group.
"Does this mean that you are into good-looking males for mates, my lord?" Ali asked from the Isan Clan.
In an instant, the atmosphere chilled. They are torn if they should be impressed that someone asked the moon elf lord that or if they should be upset because surely, this is overstepping on the lord’s privacy.
"That..." Luis doesn’t know what to say. The man’s silver eyes looked at him like a hunter waiting to poach him so he was uncomfortable.
’This one is different from Xagrien’s or Feren’s and I am not liking it,’ Luis thought.
Thankfully, Olyn sensed that his lord needed a back up so he asked more specifically this time. Like a true number one servant.
"My lord, what is mana stone?"
Luis breathed relief and answered in the simplest form. "It’s a special stone that contains and stores mana. The moonstone version of magic."
Everyone nodded in unison, expressing that they understood.
Logan turned to Luis and said on behalf of the other patriarchs and elders from the Metal Clan, "My lord, Mythril is not a problem. We have a mine in our territory. It’s under the care of Master Feren."
Feren added, "It’s been inactive since my father’s time but it is not a problem if we use it once again. I am properly maintaining it, you know?"
"However, my lord. The dilemma lies with the mana stone. We don’t have any known mines within our territory and it is the same with the others if I am not mistaken, right Nicol?"
"Indeed, Master Feren. The moonstone is considered as the most precious stone for us so even if we stumble on a Mana Stone, I’m afraid that no one would care to collect it."
Nicol’s straightforward statement hit everyone. No disagree with that.
Their strength is anchored to nature’s energy and they don’t know how to use those mana stones.
Ali proactively declared like a valiant hero volunteering to face the evil demon, "Where can we get them? My lord, we the Isan Clan will get it for you."
’This guy is indeed up to something,’ Luis noted in his head with a hint of suspicion.
"We are more than willing too, my lord!"
"Count the Gyuri Clan in too!"
The other clans didn’t want to be left out so they also volunteered.
"I appreciate the thought." Luis felt touched by this gesture so he said what he knew about the mana stones. "This is rather a very important matter. Once we get a hold of this, then we can use these as another weapon in our arsenal."
Everyone nodded, and the fire of motivation in their eyes shined brightly.
"If I am not mistaken, mana stones are found in regions that have heavy concentrations of mana called, Dragon Veins."
"Dragons..." and everyone turned silent.
Just the mention of the race’s name was enough for them to feel the threat that comes from it.
The dragons of this world assume the look of the dragons from Western legends in his previous world. They are massive winged creatures that can transform into humanoid forms.
They are said to be violent, bloodthirsty, vengeful and rumored to be lustful due to the legends that they kidnapped other races to mate with them.
Dragons and Moon Elves are polar opposite of each other and their bloody history could prove that they are never meant to mingle.
