Chapter 126: Jealous (2)

"Aish!" Luis’ exclamation disturbed the harmonious dinner table.

"Is there something wrong with the food, my lord," Olyn concernedly asked from his left.

"No it was nothing, I just thought of something."

They are currently having their dinner under the crescent moon. And while they are at it, they are also discussing the matter, the construction and the contribution of the metal clans.

This is supposedly a means to connect with each other while they are talking about business.

However, his gaze would always stray towards that brute who is a walking testosterone.

How can he focus when he was subconsciously lusting over his own man?

Luis must admit that Xagrien’s Growth Phase did him real good. The brute became even more attractive and stronger because of this. It makes him wonder what race Xagrien’s father belonged to. Since he shedded his skin like a snake, Luis immediately thought of races that have snake-like traits. Lamia and orcs that carry mythical snake blood in their bloodline.

However, Luis knows that there are forces that he doesn’t know of and it could also be other races that have reptilian traits. Such as Lizardmen, Boreas, that race of majestic-looking winged scaly humans and even dragons.

Luis halted his thoughts.

The last one was ominous.

’Well, it would be best if Xagrien is not part of the last race mentioned. Moon elves and dragons have thousands of years of beef that was left unsettled. It will be a pain in the ass if we get involved with that violent race.’ Luis thought, his priorities remained the same. It was to survive and raise his subjects while preparing for the apocalypse.

The moon elf lord was deep in his thoughts when for the nth time, his traitorous eyes landed on his boyfriend and this time, he saw Xagrien was smiling. What a sinful man!

Even in his business mode, he is making him want to be tossed and laid by that man!

However, Luis realized that he is not the only one who was gawking at his boyfriend.

There are other bearers too! And they are quite a lot!

Jealousy silently crawled in his skin when he saw how the bearers were sneaking thirsty glances at his lover.

Seriously, Luis doesn’t know whom he should blame for this. It’s not like he can blame those bearers for getting attracted to Xagrien, right?

And it is not his boyfriend’s fault for being gorgeous. If he doesn’t look like that, Luis might probably look at him the same way as Ilian.

Luis’ eyes once again landed on the male and this time, its focus was on the mouth-watering torso of the male.

That shirt was to blame!

’I told him that he should just wear his usual leather armor and yet this brute!’ Luis bit a huge piece of meat as if it was Xagrien’s biceps, intending to release his frustration and excitement.

’So tasty!’ he couldn’t help but scream in his mind when his taste buds were assaulted with the savory taste of beef.

"Would you like to have another serving of soup, my lord?" Ali, the patriarch of the Isan Clan asked out of nowhere.

Luis tilted his head towards the red-haired moon elf, his brows a little knitted to each other. ’This patriarch is a little too attentive to me, does he need something?’

"Yes, please."

Luis accepted this graceful act. It would be bad if he rejected him, especially if they were in front of others.

"Anyway, just like what I was saying earlier, my lord. We are more than willing to provide the metals needed for the construction." Feren said in the same flirty way as before and wasn’t bothered by it.

In fact, he was at ease thinking that this old man was keeping everything he learned yesterday a secret.

"You are too persistent, Master Feren. You needed something from me, right?" Luis kissed but to his surprise, the entire banquet table went silent.

Legland was just silently watching his master, and so is Nicol. The two are silently watching the situation as per their lord’s order.

Nihil, the patriarch of Ris Clan, has his face painted in black due to the passive behavior of his estranged son. What good it was to be the temple’s head priest when he doesn’t even exert dominance?

Luis caught a faint whiff of hidden intrigues but he left it at that. His gaze are nailed at the amusing and powerful elder from metal clan.

For the first time, the old man whom Luis thought was shameless blushed, "We are willing to work hard, my lord."

"Oh," that response and awkwardness shrouded the entire table.

Sibal was silent for a while, trying to feel everyone’s mood and when he saw that no one had any negative reaction other than shame, he willingly stepped forward.

"My lord, pardon me if I interrupt your talk. It’s just that, I remembered that you mentioned something like "steel" before so I wonder if it was the same as the new metal that humans invented?"

This completely got Luis’ attention.

He straightened his back and leaned towards Sibal, "The humans have already invented steel?"

Sibal nodded, "It originated from the Thelirus Empire and they restricted it for military purposes only to control the dissemination of the smithing technique."

’But why did you know it, my lord?’ Sibal didn’t dare to ask that and he chose to remain silent.

Luis realized his own oddity and his heart skipped a bit. He was careless. While he is not hiding his origins, he feels that he is still not ready to confess it.

"Those weak humans could make a metal?" Feren couldn’t help but exclaim, incredulously.

Luis breathed a sigh of relief because of this timely reaction from the old master. "They might come up with it through metallurgy. It’s like alchemy but for metals, Master Feren."

"In simple terms, they made steel by adding charcoal when they were processing pig iron to come up with stronger metals."

"They are putting impurities in the metals?!" Feren once again cried, looking as if he heard Luis say that he will die tomorrow.

Luis nodded, "You call that impurities but once the product undergoes intensive refining, it will become more durable than a pure iron."

"Sometimes strength can only be found by dirtying yourself." The moon elf lord said meaningfully. "Besides, metals are found in dirt."

The old man and the other members of the metal clans are silent. All this time, they are hell-bent on attaining the maximum purity of metals due to their belief that it was just like their core, the purer the state the stronger the metal.

Iron is abundant on their territory so they treated it as pebbles and would only use it in making basic things. Their main focus was to forge special metals like Mythril and Adamantium.

"I see, thank you for enlightening us, moon elf lord." Feren was serious this time. Gone was his playful side and all Luis could see was a mature and humble elder.

Their resolve has added another one. They need to learn how to craft steel!

The other metal power moon elves expressed their thanks in chorus. Luis gladly accepted that.

"If I am being honest, I am a little skeptical in giving this steelmaking know-how. Processing this generates a lot of pollution and it may cause nature’s energy around us to deplete." Luis said seriously. He is not sure if this is the case in this magical world but it is best to give the worst scenario.

"It was basically a double-edged sword for us. And if we don’t address the problem with its fumes, then it will cause us damage in the long run."

"But my lord, now that you have told us the simplest description of steel-making, aren’t you afraid that we will try it behind your back?" Feren challenged Luis.

But to his surprise, the moon elf lord smirked, "Did you hear me say "you can’t"? While it has cons, it also has pros. I am fine with making steel. However, testing should be made first before doing that. If we can’t responsibly make it without removing or minimizing the pollution, then we will stop."

The fellows from the metal clan visibly lightened their expression. This means that they are allowed to do it, right?

Luis solidified the smile on their faces using a more affirmative reply and discussed the methods of steel-making, it was only a shallow one and he let the moon elves to experiment themselves.

They knew metals more than anyone else, Luis believed that.

"Once you successfully make steel, I require you to make steel bars that will be used for construction. Some of the buildings that I planned are bigger and wider so it needs stronger security to make sure that it will last longer."

"That is natural, my lord." Logan, one of the patriarchs answered.

"However, moving it from our territory to the Woodrill Plains is a bit of a challenge so it may require the help from the aerial legions."

Luis listened to the other patriarch about the difficulty of traveling and he fell into deep contemplation.

’It would be great if my portable space was available, damn it,’ Luis cussed as he was once again reminded of his locked power.

Even if he cried and rolled and begged the system to let him unlock his space power, it is futile since the system is not a pushover.

’Instead, I will be pushed around if I do that.’ he thought and focused on other things that are achievable.

’This is the world of magic, It would be great if we can teleport or something’

It was at this point that a bright lightbulb flashed in his mind.

Luis smiled so brightly that it practically blinded everyone. "Olyn, kindly call Nero immediately. Tell him that I need him to settle his first installment."
