Ding Chaohui left after he saw Chen Xiaoyi kiss Luo Ziling on her own initiative; overwhelmed with shame and indignation, he left abruptly.

He didn’t say goodbye to Chen Xiaoyi nor did he say anything else; he just turned and left, very decisively.

After an awkward kiss with Chen Xiaoyi, Luo Ziling looked up and didn’t see Ding Chaohui, unable to refrain from exclaiming in surprise, “Where is he?”

“Seems like he left,” Chen Xiaoyi said with a flushed face, glancing outside the western restaurant, then added softly, “Never mind him, let’s continue with our meal.”

Chen Xiaoyi herself hadn’t expected to kiss Luo Ziling on her own initiative in the restaurant, under the gaze of other patrons, right under Ding Chaohui’s watch. Her first kiss had been impulsively given, which seemed incredible to her in hindsight.

Her heart and breathing raced, her head felt somewhat empty, and her limbs were weak; these were the feelings she experienced during the kiss with Luo Ziling–her whole body was trembling.

“Alright, I think we both lost some face today,” Luo Ziling said with a wry smile looking at Chen Xiaoyi, “In such a classy restaurant, to argue publicly, with two men being jealous over a woman, is quite embarrassing, isn’t it?”

“Regardless, no one knows you here; it’s me who’s embarrassed,” Chen Xiaoyi responded with a shy smile to Luo Ziling.

Still reeling from the rush of hugging and passionately kissing Luo Ziling, she felt too flustered to look him in the eyes.

“Alright, let’s not talk about this issue. If today’s act can make that guy give up, then it wasn’t in vain,” Luo Ziling restrained his wry expression, “I hope he stops harassing you, so I no longer have to play the role of your boyfriend.”

“I hope so, but he definitely won’t give up easily. He’s thick-skinned; despite my repeated rejections, he hasn’t given up. Chances are, he still won’t give up this time.” Chen Xiaoyi still looked slightly coy, unlike her usual carefree self.

Luo Ziling thought seriously for a moment, then frowning, he asked, “Do you think he might take his anger out on me, looking for trouble at some point?”

She knew that Ding Chaohui had a good relationship with her brother, Chen Jiahai, who supported Ding Chaohui’s pursuit of her. Meanwhile, the relationship between Luo Ziling and Chen Jiahai was poor, and there had been quite a few conflicts between them.

“If we wanted to better resolve today’s issue, we should have chosen another place, like a private booth in a Chinese restaurant or inside a karaoke box where even if we fought, no one could see us. “I’m wondering if today I was an extra, or was he the extra?” Luo Ziling asked Chen Xiaoyi with a strange look, “I feel like it wasn’t you pulling me here to reject some guy, but you bringing some guy here to accomplish something.”

“What do you mean?” Chen Xiaoyi frowned and looked at Luo Ziling, “I don’t understand what you’re saying!”

Luo Ziling did not repeat but simply bowed his head and continued eating, speaking as he ate, “I have already made myself clear.”

As Chen Xiaoyi thought deeply about what Luo Ziling had said, she finally understood his implication.

“Are you suggesting that I hired Ding Chaohui as an actor, solely to solidify our relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend?” Her expression turned somewhat ugly.

Luo Ziling stayed silent and merely smiled before focusing back on his food.

Chen Xiaoyi laughed bitterly, put down her knife and fork, and looked at Luo Ziling seriously, “Do you really think so?”

“Ding Chaohui would think so, and so can I, don’t you agree?”

“Alright, I can’t deny that,” Chen Xiaoyi appeared somewhat dejected but quickly stared at Luo Ziling intently and said seriously, “Do you realize that was my first kiss.”

“Ah, no wonder you bit me,” Luo Ziling responded with a mix of amusement and regret. After seeing Chen Xiaoyi staring at him seriously, he carefully asked, “Are you… trying to force me to be your boyfriend?”

“If I force you, would you agree or refuse?!” Chen Xiaoyi said half-seriously and half-jokingly. After she inadvertently glanced outside and saw the scene outside the restaurant, her expression suddenly changed.
