Chapter 1463: Chapter 1463: Planning

Ling Ruonan is, of course, a legendary figure in Huaxia’s business world. Among those who could be considered her equals are only a few, such as Ouyang Feifei.

When she first took charge of the Northern Group, which was then called Northern Trading and Manufacturing Co., it was merely a small company with a market value of several hundred million. The industries it ventured into were few, and it could be considered an inconsequential company under the Ling Family’s assets.

Over more than a decade, Ling Ruonan achieved miracles, transforming Northern Trading and Manufacturing Co. into a giant—a multinational corporation with a market value of several hundred billion—becoming a legend in Huaxia’s commercial world.

What’s more, she successfully turned the Northern Group into a state-owned enterprise without being majority-owned by the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. This meant the company had no absolute controlling shareholder, yet its top executives held administrative ranks. As of now, Ling Ruonan’s rank is already vice-ministerial, just half a rank below Ling Zhengping, the Governor of Yue Province.

Furthermore, many of the industries the Group engages in are military-related, making Northern Group a unique case in Huaxia.

It was entirely understandable that the Ling Family members wanted to wrest Northern Group back from Ling Ruonan.

After all, no one would willingly let such a massive corporation worth several hundred billion be managed by Ling Ruonan—a daughter-in-law of the Luo Family.

Realizing all this, Luo Ziling felt both pride and satisfaction for Ling Ruonan.

Their family possessed such immense wealth—it was already remarkable. Even more so, Ling Ruonan was now embarking on new plans to make the Luo family’s business empire even larger.

Luo Ziling believed Ling Ruonan would succeed, and under her leadership, the Luo Family would soon achieve glory.

However, upon digesting all this, Luo Ziling felt a little dejected.

He had originally intended to cultivate the Luo Family into a super noble house through his own efforts, but now, it seemed his mother had already helped the family accomplish this goal. Whatever he did in the future would merely add icing to the cake—a thought that left him somewhat frustrated.

He even shared his frustrations with Ling Ruonan.

Ling Ruonan chuckled upon hearing this and said, "Having money doesn’t necessarily make you a noble house. For example, the Ouyang Family, lacking political accomplishments, isn’t considered part of the elite. Their influence can’t compare to the established families like the Ling Family, Yang Family, Chen Family, or Fang Family. We still have a long way to go. In terms of politics, you’re not suited to participate because your personality isn’t a good match. Leave it to your wife in the future! Whether you marry Ouyang Feifei or Yang Qingyin, both of them are well-suited for political life, with significant advantages in that realm."

This one remark left Luo Ziling feeling awkward.

Ling Ruonan, appearing intrigued by their conversation, didn’t wait for Luo Ziling’s response before explaining more of her thoughts.

Besides wanting to maintain firm control over Northern Group, she sought a higher administrative rank—considering a concurrent position at a ministry, enjoying full ministerial-level treatment, yet retaining her role as CEO of Northern Group.

She had already discussed this with Ling Mingrui and Ling Jinhua, and neither elder opposed the idea. Ling Zhengping also expressed his willingness to support her.

Ling Ruonan wanted Luo Xusheng to return to Yanjing by the end of this year or early next year to join the headquarters—a plan that should encounter little difficulty.

Hearing this, Luo Ziling interjected, "Mom, if Dad could come back to Yanjing, and you two formally become husband and wife, no one would dare underestimate our Luo Family anymore."

"It’s not that simple," Ling Ruonan chuckled and shared further ideas, including thoughts on entering Qingniao Media, deepening cooperation with Ouyang Feifei, and investments in the South. Regarding Qingniao Media, Ling Ruonan hoped to observe Luo Yuqing’s abilities and growth. If Luo Yuqing had an interest, she could also try her hand in this area.

"Mom, aren’t you worried Yuqing might get tainted?" Luo Ziling asked, astonished.

"Who dares take advantage of her?" Ling Ruonan chuckled again. "Those who succumb to casting couches are simply unable to resist due to a lack of leverage. If a girl from a noble house enters this industry, who would dare try anything with her?"

"That’s true," Luo Ziling agreed with Ling Ruonan’s sentiment.

"As for investments in Yuezhou, I’ve already discussed it with Ouyang Feifei. Our two families will jointly establish a development company there, expanding the investment scale. I’m sure this will yield mutual benefits." At this point, Ling Ruonan lowered her voice. "This is also a contingency for the Luo Family. If things don’t go well in Yanjing, we can move to the South. Hence, we must build a foundation there."

"Mom, your foresight is extraordinary. I truly admire you," Luo Ziling exclaimed, unable to resist flattering her. "With a mother like you, life as your son can be incredibly easy."

"Yet you can’t enjoy such an easy life. These past months, you’ve been anything but relaxed." Ling Ruonan sighed.

"Mom, it’s fine. Isn’t it true that men grow through challenges?" Luo Ziling smiled faintly. "Right now, my biggest hope is that you and Dad can officially tie the knot, so I won’t be an outlier anymore. When the time comes, I’ll personally plan a grand wedding for you two."

Ling Ruonan seemed shy at his words, lowering her head in thought for a while before softly replying, "Let’s wait until your dad comes to Yanjing before we consider this, okay?"

"Why wait for him to come to Yanjing? As long as the timing is right, that’s enough. How about spring this year? Let’s handle it earlier to avoid any complications."

"Let’s wait a bit longer," Ling Ruonan hesitated briefly and shook her head, "At least until your grandparents are prepared."

"Then autumn, during the harvest season. I’ll host a grand wedding for you two, making this year truly complete!"

Ling Ruonan opened her mouth but ultimately didn’t refuse, nodding gently and gripping Luo Ziling’s hand tightly.

"I’ll officiate your wedding ceremony. With such a handsome son hosting your event, you must feel lucky." Luo Ziling said, grinning widely.

"Of course we’d feel lucky. Having our son officiate—nothing could be better!" Ling Ruonan replied, laughing delightedly.

Luo Ziling joined her with a silly laugh.

But as they laughed, Ling Ruonan unexpectedly began crying, tears streaming down her cheeks, startling Luo Ziling.

"Ling’er, all these years, you’ve endured the most hardship. From now on, I promise you won’t suffer anymore. I’ll give you a complete family," Ling Ruonan promised as she pulled Luo Ziling tightly into her embrace. "Soon, we’ll have a complete family. The three of us will never be apart again."

Although Luo Ziling initially felt happy, his heart now felt sour, but he said nothing and simply hugged Ling Ruonan tightly.
