While the two spoke, they had stepped aside, allowing Cao Jianhui and the others to get heated up with a few other girls. Therefore, their conversation was not overheard by the others.

Cao Jianhui suggested going for hotpot, and nobody objected, so the group of eight headed to Fatty Hotpot Restaurant outside for a private room, ordering a yin yang hotpot and lots of side dishes.

“Better eat less, it’s so late, eating too much is a burden on the stomach,” Luo Ziling, not hungry, wasn’t very interested in having a late-night snack, but seeing Cao Jianhui and the others so enthusiastic, he couldn’t help but throw in a wet blanket.

“Boss, can you not spoil the fun?” Cao Jianhui immediately complained, “Let’s eat as we wish, how great is that, whatever healthy or not, being happy is what matters. If you’re in a good mood, you’ll naturally be healthy, right?”

Li Fuming and Wu Longjiang echoed right away, and Luo Ziling had to close his mouth.

The closing hours for the library and reading rooms were extended, and the dormitory building’s curfew was greatly relaxed. Many students cramming for the exams studied late into the night and went out for late-night snacks; the dorm supervisors were somewhat understanding.

“Shall we take a walk by Lake Wuming?” After entering the school gate, Ouyang Huihui suggested, “The feeling of stepping on ice and snow is really comfortable.”

“I’ve already experienced the feeling of stepping on ice and snow for over a decade in the Northwest, and I’m sick of it,” Luo Ziling unceremoniously rejected, “It’s late and cold, let’s go to sleep.”

Taking advantage of Luo Ziling’s momentary daze, Ouyang Huihui suddenly turned and wrapped her arms around him, planting a kiss on him.

Ouyang Huihui was quite tall, and the heels of her boots were not low either, so standing there, she was almost the same height as Luo Ziling.

She didn’t even have to stand on her toes to kiss him.

“Did your mom tell you?”

Luo Yuqing nodded, looking annoyed. “I can’t believe you didn’t mention this to me, it’s so frustrating!”

“When a woman gets angry, her chest gets fuller.”

Luo Yuqing paused, her face turning red, then rushed at Luo Ziling to hit him. “You annoying jerk, how dare you tease me, I’ll beat you to death!”

Luo Ziling dodged and started running along the track, shouting back, “Sister, what did your mom tell you?”

Luo Yuqing quickly caught up and, once she was beside him, she said, “She didn’t say much, just that you showed up later and she seemed really angry. Did you yell at her?”

Luo Ziling briefly explained the previous night’s events.

After hearing it, Luo Yuqing opened her mouth in shock and stopped in her tracks.

“No way, my mom actually thought that way?” Luo Yuqing appeared embarrassed on behalf of her mother. “My mom, why is her thinking so different from others? Is she so desperate for a man that she would make such a suggestion? I’m truly ashamed for her.”

“So you don’t support her suggestion?” Luo Ziling stopped and waited for Luo Yuqing.

“I’ve considered that your dad could be my biological father, but I never thought about my mom marrying your dad and forming one family.” Luo Yuqing shook her head. “You, your mom, and your dad are a family. Me, my mom, and my brother are also a family; we couldn’t possibly become one shared family. Your dad would definitely choose your mom.”

“Then you should talk to your mom. She seems a bit over the edge.”

“I know you want my mom not to cause trouble, so we all avoid problems, right?”

“Yes!” Luo Ziling didn’t deny it.

“Fine, I promise you,” Luo Yuqing didn’t refuse and nodded readily, then immediately added, “But you have to tell me everything about Chen Jiahai and Chen Xiaoyi. No hiding anything from me, because I’m your sister!”
