503: Girl Bond.

503: Girl Bond.

Alix didn’t receive the news until the following the day and the sneaky captain sent Mantis over to deliver the dossier.

He picked the time when he knew that Zhang Bo would be at the house.

But again, Bo spent almost all of his time at Caishen’s house despite having his own house.

Mantis was a curious little bug, and her eyes didn’t stop moving the minute she got an opportunity to enter the private world of Alix and Caishen.

It was much simpler than she expected.

She had imagined extravagant luxury just as the other system hosts who gossiped about Alix and her very rich husband did.

“It’s much more….mmm..

less goldy than i expected.” “Goldy..” Alix repeated, curiously.

Mantis nodded.

“I don’t know why i was imagining gold walls, old paintings that cost hundreds of millions, expensive porcelain in which you pretentiously place flowers and act as if they are ordinary ten yuan flower vases.” Instead she was seeing ordinary brown clay flower pots holding orchids, others were in plastic containers.

The walls had pictures of the family members at different places and on different occasions.

It was more homey than she expected, like a place where people actually lived and not a luxury museum or very clean, cold and efficient place.

Of course, she had not seen it before Alix moved in because it was clean, cold and efficient back then.

Now, they had children’s toys, cat toys, blankets on the sofa, a candy wrapper on the floor.

You could tell that people lived here and they were happy.

Zhang Bo laughed lightly and sipped the last soda in the can he was holding lazily.

“What’s so funny?” Mantis glared at Bo and asked.

He put down the soda can and pointed to the orchids.

“Those are worth at least three hundred million yuan, the gold fish in the tank have been valued at thirty million so far.

The furniture is all rosewood and namu wood and that gold you thought you would see, there is plenty of it lying around in my brother’s study, bedroom and sister-in-law’s music room.

Let’s not forget the cost of the house itself or the fact that my younger brother owns three floors.”  Mantis considered his words briefly and came to a realization that she was wrong, it was not less.

It was actually much more than she expected, they just didn’t throw it in your face.

Nanny Luo brought Mantis a cup of tea and those involved in the matter settled down.

It was time to get down to business.

“You have your first mission assigned by the bureau.” Matins led, choosing her words carefully.

“Ooh,” Alix clapped her hands excitedly.

“What is it?

Is it espionage?

Am i infiltrating a secure facility to steal something of national importance?

Do i have to snatch someone off the street, a bad person?

Am i going undercover in the dark side?” Her fingers danced and her smile widened, “Like James Bond, but i am a girl so girl Bond.” “No.” Mantis turned her down flatly.

Alix calmed down and stared at the watcher.

Caishen patted her hand slowly.

He wanted to stop her from getting ahead of herself or being swept away by excitement.

“Easy honey.” he whispered.

Mantis handed the dossier to Alix and sat down.

Since she was already aware of it’s contents she directly shared the information.

“You have your first violin solo concert as the winner of the national violin competition in Germany.

Tickets have been sold out, congratulations.” Alix frowned, perplexed highly.

She had been practicing her violin because she was aware that she had to tour at least six countries internationally in a period of two or three months.

Germany had not been on the original list she had been given by the violin association.

“I know you are confused but this has all been cleared up and everything has been prepared.

The Heinrich family.” She spread her arms out and emphasized slowly, “The formerly noble Heinrich family has extended an invitation to dragon beast system host to attend the birthday of Josef Heinrich…

Alix mind and mouth couldn’t help becoming excited again.

“I have got it, you want me to infiltrate the Enrich family and steal something or find out their secrets, got it.” Mantis frowned and she shot Caishen a ‘what the fuck?’ look.

Not only had Alix mispronounced the name but she had once again jumped to the wrong conclusion.

Zhang Bo was just laughing, as he always did when Alix mispronounced the name of someone or something which she did often.

He knew that his sister-in-law was not stupid, she was just lazy in thought.

“Honey, you are doing it again.” Caishen whispered to her.

Mantis glanced at her phone, read a text and placed it back on the chair face down.

“I will not meander around anymore so here is your mission.

All you have to do is become a dragon, start a camp fire and blow the candles on the birthday cake.

Ooh, before i forget, you have to play the violin when Josef is making an entrance.

All you have to do is make them happy by accepting some of their requests which might include touching your scales, whiskers, tail and claws.” With each sentence, the spark in Alix dimmed further and further and a different spark was lit.

“You are pimping me out for entertainment!” she raised her dismayed voice.

Mantis could feel her heart picking up speed and she cursed silently.

This was why she didn’t want to be the one to deliver this news.

Why did the captain insist on having her do it?

She didn’t want to become a roasted bug if Alix lost control.

Caishen was on Alix the dragon control and he started rubbing his hand across her back gently.

“Easy there my darling fire breath…” Alix whirled and glared at him as well, not amused by his joke.

Mantis did the same thing, wondering whether Caishen was an idiot.

One did not play with fire without the expectation of being burned.

He was definitely playing with fire.

As someone that had seen system hosts lose control occasionally and even hurt their loved ones, she wanted to advise Caishen not to assume he was invincible.

“What else does the bureau want me to do, should i dance for them in my dragon form?

Should i give them rides on my back?

Maybe they have straps and harnesses waiting for me over there with a plan to use me as a horse.

Do i look like a fruiting horse to the fruiting moron that came up with this idea?

Should i show you the difference between a fruiting dragon and a horse?” Alix questioned Mantis again and this time, there was some smoke coming from her mouth and her nose.

The smoke made everyone in the living room very uneasy and the ones that were watching in the hidden city through the camera in Mantis’s eyes felt the same way.
